Funny i hear all the mentioning of "Lego" i am an avid lego collector.. I have built signs out of bricks professionally in fact.. I have a lego collection with sets dating back as far as 1979.. One thing i do with WED had the ability to do is zoom in and out using the mouse wheel..

Step number 4 is what i was missing.. Man i appreciate it.. Now just having to learn how to make it all work.. I think after a few hours of playing it won't be so difficult, figuring out what is what and how it all goes together.. What if i was interested in putting buildings in a city as opposed to just at the airport?? I am sure it is simular but some differences also.. Thank You for your help.. Jeff

This thing shouldnt be hard.. This is driving me crazy.. I am wanting to edit existing airports.. I have read the WED manual and it mentions "Current Airport" and "Airport Shown in Map View" i see the world and there is NOTHING.. I zoom in and there is NOTHING.. I attempt to Import DSF files.. i browse to the Earth Nave Data folder and i just see the +xx-xxx folers and if i try to import a DSF file in there nothing happens.. How do i find what DSF file the airport i want to modify is in?? And how to i open it so i can edit it?? These tutorials seem to have a fuzzy area when they mention importinging an existing airport.. PLEASE HELP

TOTALLY OFF TOPIC.. One time i was heading to LaGuardia to fly home (Okc) and i stopped by the Wendy's on Queens Blvd that was used in Coming To America.. Haha.. One of the best movies ever made.. Back on topic.. I am wondering if an addon will/can be made that will overcome the 20 ai plane barrier..

How did you do it?? How does scheduling work?? Any screenshots by chance??

Who really cares about the AI traffic having moveable surfaces, and appearing as if they are fighting a crosswind?? I would trade detail (aside from good txtures) for quantity anytime.. I want to be able to fly into one of the major hubs and be behind a couple of planes evenly spaced on the glideslope all lining up for approach on the same runway.. Or be able to park at the of a runway and look to the right and see three or four planes lined up.. Or be able to change to tower view simply watch ground operations.. Honestly how often do you look at AI traffic and are put in AWE when you see the elevator trim being adjusted??

Flying around and looking at the map i see a couple of planes here and there but not really a lot of traffic.. I would like to go to one of the larger airports (ORD, DFW, ATL, DEN) places like that and be able to park and just listen to ATC and watch planes land and take off.. Especially with the air traffic following real physics, it would be cool to setup a heavy crosswind.. FSX had the ability to have that kind of traffic volume.. Does XPX not?? Are there any addons that would/will create this?? Just wondered..

I am using TH2GO right now.. I am only running a couple of old (dont laugh) 8800GTX cards in SLI.. I built a new system less that a week ago and when the NVidia 680's are a little more common i will be getting one of those.. The 680 allows you to run three screens straight off the card without having to go through an adaptor.. And since it can do this you can also have bezel correction.. XP10 works fine on three screens just remember you are running a massive res so you need a seriously powerful graphics card, especially if you like detail.. I am thinking in the next month or two the 680's will be up with demand and it wont be impossible to get one.. Happy flying..

Not a pilot, but i have racked over 700,000 freq flyer miles.. So i have passed by many an airport.. Going into O'Hare, DFW, DEN the taxi way lights are for sure too bright.. I would think this would be just a simple tweak.. Another thing that would be really slick is i read the lights can be adjusted based on values.. It would be neat if there was a rule of some kind visibilty between X and Y value and the runway lights are at full brightness.. And again, flying into big airports, at night with low visibility, its AMAZING how bright runway lights actually are when turned up to max.. Again, just possible tweaks, not really performance enhancements which i think is what they are addressing now more than anything..

Do you have to make two textures for the building day and night?? I'm sure you do, but how do you do the cross fade between the two?? I have seen some buildings on here during sunset or sunrise and then some during the day and some during the night.. How do you make the transitional part come out right??

Again, i figured it would be just a minor tweak.. There are a lot of things that are much more important..

It would sure be nice sometimes if the blue taxi-way lights could be a little dimmer.. I know you can see them when you land in reality but usually they aren't as bright as the runway lights.. And when you fly directly over an airport it just looks a little too bright.. I'm not really complaining, i'm sure it is just a tweak somewhere.. What do you think??

Have yet to build it.. Still looking at combinations and reading reviews ect.. I do know some things for sure, i am strongly leaning towards an Intel setup.. Although more expesive than AMD, i know the reviews have been stronger with the Intel's vs the AMD's.. I am looking at an I7 2700K, not 100% sure on the MOBO yet.. I have a couple of ASUS boards with PCIe 3.0 that look good, i have also used MSI in the past, reccomendations?? I will for sure be going with 16gb of memory and a OCZ SATA III 240gb SSD.. Beleive i will just run my old 8800GTX video cards (for a month or two) while i wait for the 680's to become more widley available.. If the above doesnt look good, i am always up for suggestions..

I see all the questions about FSX (which i still love) however i recently bought XPX and i am looking to build a new system.. With XP is more aimed at the video card than the CPU, does anyone know what XPX looks like on a 680?? What are your FPS running?? Thanks

Thanks for the advice.. I am leaning back towards an I7 after reading some benchmarks and other resources about the AMD.. Although the cost of the AMD setup is only about 2/3rd the cost of Intel, i beleive the intel would be a better deal in the long run.. Windows 7 64bit would address the full amount of RAM i am looking at.. And after Windows 8 has been out for a while since it is supposed to handle Multi-core better i might even consider upgrading..I think what i will do is get all new hardware aside from the video cards.. Just stick with the 8800's only for a month or two and when the 680's are a little easier to get ahold of swp them out for one of those.. I know the 8800's will be the weakest (by far) link, but it should get me by for a little while..

Just got it in the mail today.. Spent more than an hour and a half loading it.. Did the updates so we are all good.. Launch the sim and within a matter of minutes thats all she wrote..Of course, i AM running WinXP, 2gb Ram, 6600 Intel Dual core, and a pair of 8800 GTX cards.. Could that be a problem? ;-)Just gotta convince the wife it is time to buy a new computer..Would XPX really benifit from 16GB Memory vs 8GB, And i am looking at one of the 8 core AMD's.. Would it actually use that? Or is it overkill?? And if they ever can get the 680's in stock i figure i would use that also.. Any ideas??Thank you..

How many GB does XPX actually take up?? I am looking into an SSD for my next build.. I am only planning on loading the US scenery also..

That would be great.. I would love to see how OKC looks.. I have been toying with SketchUp and using the google warehouse also.. The Capitol looks really good, with textures and all in SketchUp just not sure what happens after that (the export process).. I mean do you have to re-do the textures to get them to appear in XP??

To WB5..Have you ever ventured into adding custom objects/buildings into XPX?? I have read some people saying it is very easy and some say it isnt so easy.. Are we waiting for WED 1.2 still?? Or can we use an older one??

So the outlines (perimiter roads) are here for the other lakes, just the bodies of water themselves arent?? How about the North and South Canadian?? How do the major highways look.. I am sure the crosstown is still the original.. Also, is downtown and expressway airpark still there?? They havent either one been active for years..

I splurged and finally got into the group and bought XPX.. I have been reading a lot about the sim, watching videos, who knows how many pictures and check the Dev Blog almost daily.. I have an older computer so i don't expect to be maxing out stuff for a while (new computer is the next step)..From what i have seen it appears as if the sim has a GREAT foundation.. With the streets/roads/highways i think that will be a real improvement over my FSX.. One thing is that it has unlike FSX these roads will actually have traffic on them, and thats without an addon..This will be a great effect when coming in on final and crossing a highway just before touchdown.. I am also looking forward to the WED being released.. I think when this happens the custom objects will explode (correct me if i'm wrong)..Anyway, it should be here next week, and i am really looking forward to not having to restart every 15 minutes.. And having scenery for where i live..

I recently took back three 24" LED screens.. I currently run on three 19" LCD's using TH2Go.. I have been hooked on MS since FS4 and am strongly considering XP10.. I am debating on building a new tower so whatever sim i have will run nice.. Sitting around at work yesterday bored out of my innocent mind i was looking at reviews on this card yesterday.. EXPENSIVE (OOOH yeah).. However, you wouldn't really need to run an SLI setup at this time with this thing either.. Does XP really benefit from SLI anyway??

It would be nice to be able to remove high tension electrical towers also.. Some areas where the terrain has rapid elevation changes there are several towers almost one on top of the other.. Has anyone else seen this??

I was looking at another forum and saw someone doing some ridiculously beautiful modeling of the interior of the XB-70.. This thing was detailed all the way to realistic animated ejection capsules.. All of the sudden work on the project stopped.. Does anyone know if there is a good XB-70 for X-plane?? It was truly an AMAZING aircraft.. I have one for FSX which is fair, but i really have yet to see a very high res rendering of the plane.. Just wondered if anyone knew where/if one existed..Happy Flying..

Wow, Thunderbird, Draper, and Arcadia?? MISSING?? Those are significant landmarks.. Tinker wont look right if Draper and Thunderbird isn't at the end.. Hope the North Canadian snakes through the city.. Another body of water that may be nice is the one by the zoo..
