  1. As long as they can get this turbulence/winds thing fixed and ensure compatibility with 3rd party like AES, GSX or FSPAX, I see no problem in using an external FDE if it brings superior aircraft handling and enhances the overall realism with better "fly-by-numbers". That requierement of stable FPS is also present in X-Plane, which reduces the sim speed to render the aerodynamics correctly, if you are having low FPS. For high quality add-ons, "external" systems and FDE with FSX just as graphics platform seem to be the future to me.
  2. If you only work for "praise the lord/developer" posts in forums, maybe you are "working" in the wrong business? Normally, costumers only start to "demand" things before the release of the product (normal and useful for marketing analyses) or after the release of the product ( very intensive, if listed features are not implemented.) Costumers get very angry if promised features on the product page are not included or the developer starts explaining what he thinks, a feature "means" for him. ( hint hint "managed descent")
  3. Remove the various "soundai" folder from the different aircraft under FSX/Simobjects/Aircraft
  4. Workaround here, workaround there, come on. If I buy an airliner that is promoted as "daily work on the left seat", it can't be true that there is no working managed descend. If I want to calculate the TOD on my own and save the aircraft from its autopilot having strange behaviour from time to time, I can easily fly a default aircraft (or the naughty Wilco)...
  5. Interesting how the Extended fans appear suddenly, like it's coordinated by someone... To be fair: both aircraft (BBS and XTND) are far from being "complete", the BBS is officially BETA and the Extended is a public paid unofficial beta. Here we go again, LNAV route tracking and FMS-based descends are not something that only an Airbus is capable of, even the mighty VASFMC gives me EOD/TOC indications that are usable for online flying ("descend to be leveled") and flies SID/STARs in a reliable way, the extended doesn't in too many cases.
  6. A rough guess: this year In early 2012, the said that they planned for November/December 2012 but obviously that didn't work (it never did with any software company, different topic...). Everything about the FSL can be found here and here, the last "bigger" update can be found here Also have a look on what a tester (RW A320/A330 pilot) says about it: http://forum.avsim.n...5#entry2516932 http://forum.avsim.n...25#entry2516953
  7. Their Concorde contains a very good tutorial, I'm very confident that this will be the same with the Airbus.
  8. I think the FSL will be "the one", no need for me to buy any half-baked product (IAE-engine with CFM-display and sound) again, I've already enough of those in my hangar... Too big for me to waste money again on an Aerosoft "Airbus"...
  9. It IS fun to fly. But I wouldn't compare the Concorde and the A320 on the systems as the first one is a 3-man-cockpit with a million switches, analog gauges and there isn't much room for relaxing, even in cruise. The A320 is one of the most computerized commercial airliners on the market. Although the design philsophy is different from Boeing also a newbie will find out very fast how it's working. If you know the MD-11, you will find some similarities...
  10. Update: http://forums.flightsimlabs.com/index.php?/topic/4328-when/page__st__20#entry21264
  11. Take a steady and strong headwind (no gusts, no bumps, no whatever), you'll experience the same problem. Thrust Idle at 50ft > Airspeed loss > Bounced Landing I know that this seems to be some kind of philosophy thing, some airlines have A/T on for APP and some say "if manual, then AP and AT off". To come back to the 11, the ATS pulling thrust to Idle has been identified to be one of the reasons for crash landings (together with the "character" of the MD-11 (LSAS, high speeds etc.).
  12. See it like this: slightly gusty winds, ATS is spooling up and down to maintain the speed und you are riding down the ILS and disconnect ATS together with the A/P maybe at 1000ft. It's still ok to land, but you might idle the power later e.g. 30FT to adjust the wind changes affecting your airspeed. There would be no reason for a go around. But with ATS on, it just reduces thrust to idle at 50ft regardless of any environment conditions which can result in a serious loss of airspeed before touchdown, resulting in a high sinkrate and a dangerous (especially with the 11) bounced landing.
  13. A/T on for landing can be dangerous if you experience sudden wind gusts and the ATS is pulling back the thrust to idle at 50 (or was it 47?) feet. Bounced landing, here we go...
  14. Route: EDDH-EDDF , standard route by vatroute.net tested with FSRealtime, without FSRealtime, with weather (FSRealwxLite), without weather, the problem remains. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BjZRG-NYudk Is this a known problem? Regards Lennart
