  1. Yes, this was exactly what I needed, thank you so much. Is this phrasology only valid for EU and is it allowed in UK? Also I have another, question, sorry. But how do you guys do this in VR, I mean howto take notes?
  2. Also wonder about something and when to use. E. G Rotterdam Ground, PHHTM, Cessna 182, In front of jet center, Information ‘J’, VFR to Seppe, Request start-up.” In this example they use information juliet, in other examples I have seen they use "information bravo" also seen Golf... What does it mean and when do I change them?
  3. Pfffff, all the mentioning off these books make me want to go and sleep:p. I cant get things to stick just reading books. What I need is a simple script, that shows all calls from deliverance to taxi, tower and takeoff, touch and go, and all calls around the circuit so I can start practicing touch and go. Next step would be a script that gets me from one airport to another Vfr... I found learning like this is the easiest for me and just repeating until I understand the flow. Im watching youtube videos, to try and write down all calls, but its a chore and its easy to miss what was being said and I dont want to log on, and then start reading incorrect calls... I found it on vatsim site, but unfortunately all off those examples are IFR tube flying...
  4. A properly functioning save feature for all aircrafts with the ability to modify weather is very much needed indeed. Not just because of CTD(some try to pretend they dont happen, they do), but because something worse than CTD. An annoying wife calling when your in the most critical stage of flight, during takeoff or landing or preparing to land. If its just coincidence or not, but she always call me at those moments, and never during a boring cruise...And when I go check what she wants, its not that she wants anything, its all about attention(its like she think I have an affair with the computer or something, she jealous at it lol).
  5. Doesnt matter what you think,,,,or prefer,,, the term is there and its widely used, we all pretty much know what to expect when we hear it... So I don't expect it too change just because random user Vali said so in a thread on Avsim....:p
  6. About weather not always being accurate,,,, heard this statement pretty much from back in the days of FSX and in xplane, Prepar3D and all its different addons, some addons did better than others, but it was never true to real life. Sometimes I wonder what we really expect? ..it will never be perfect, not now and not in the next ten years, and maybe never... But for me, when first trying MSFS and could actually fly between different fronts and all of this connected almost seamless without to much abrubt changes was a revolution and something I never seen before, so to me that was a big step in the right direction. Drawback was maybe that it relies more on forecast than metars, so not always correct, but it felt way more plausible than the metar aproach used in previous sims.. Like, the weather in MSFS feels alive where in previous sims, it feels static(havent tried xplane 12 so cant comment on that one) ...
  7. I dont see "study" as in studying to get a PPL, i see it as a way to explain what complexity to expect. Like DCS world is marketed as a study sim, and quite frankly, you have to "study" to be able to learn that sim and fly in the sim. You are not studying to fly an A10 with its weapons in real life. Took me 2 years of studying to feel comfortable in the A10 and after 12 years, im still studying it because I havent learned it all. Il2 is not marketed as a study sim, and you dont need to study much, your pretty much in the air after 2 days killing foes... So it kinda makes sense, and will tell newcomers what to expect.... We can hate on the term as much as we want, but its an established term, and to me it makes perfect sense...
  8. As others said, get DCS when you want action, and go too MSFS when you want to chill. Simple Ranting on avsim about this will not make Microsoft change their policy, so what is the point, it is what it is
  9. I know, they had to have a plan, for the shareholders. He also said that when the sim needs a big rewrite we may have to buy the sim again. Im just predicting that when the ten years have passed and the sim still makes money, it makes sense to make MSFS 2... Just speculation off course, but my point was, we still have many years for improvements to come..
  10. Yes, please, send your script, that would be really helpful. Good to hear that there is room for mistakes. Tought vatsim was very strict. To find schedule to do it with you would be very difficult, because I never know when I get time for serious flying, the stars have to align, my wife need to be at work, my Child need to be in kindergarden, and I also need to find time off from work. I have a hard time to put up even a schedule for myself:p. But thanks for the offer, but think it will be impossible...
  11. Well we still have eight years left of development until MSFS2 comes out. Even with all these bugs, annoying issues, its the best sim I personally ever had on my computer. And like we have picked MSFS apart in this thread, im sure we can pick apart any sim we choose to because nothing is perfect.
  12. What happen if I use US phraseology in the UK or vice versa, will the controller eat me alive:p, or let it slide? Seems I have to focus on either EU or America and not booth, so it doesnt get to complicated for me... And what happen if im in the air, my brain shuts down and I cant remember anything and get confused, do I get kicked off the network.? Im really nervous making my first flight:), like I said, took me 12 years to get the courage for a radio check, 😂
  13. Ok, so you just now invented a new term, "A rated addon". So next time someone asks something about a new addon, we will just say, its an "A rated addon" , which I doubt anyone outside this thread would know what it means. Where if we say "study level" pretty much everyone know what to expect because the term has been with us for so many years. Doesnt really matter if its a game or whatever, the term is well established so its an easy way to know that an addon is deep without any further explanation.. To change this term to "A rated addon" will take years of reindoctrination of all of us and has to reach that consencus that most of us will accept it. I higly doubt a random person on avsim really can do that:p
  14. Because he is a 👹.... He probably go to google and search for issues with MSFS and try to find the most obscure ones, so nobody really can solve it for him, so he's threads catch momentum. Sometimes he throws in the "Prepar3D is miles ahead" or "this is nothing more than a xbox game" just to spice things up. 😂. It starts to get really entertaining.
  15. The whole world, but plan on keeping my vatsim activity in US and UK...
  16. I think we all know what study level mean, I suspect some people that dont use study level aircrafts feel somehow inferior and want to drag the term down, so their basic carenado sightseeing looking at scenery and taking screenshots becomes more complex than it is. Yeah, now I start to sound elitist, and anyone can do what they want and enjoy their sim as they want. But dont tell me after reading a whole manual and watching countless youtube videos after buying the wing42 b247d just to start the engine, that Im not studying....
  17. Is there a complete guide somewhere that has the correct sentence to say to ATC from start to end of flight and patterns work(Vfr). Like, what I mean, a "dummies guide to vatsim" , so I can just almost read from a script to what to say from start to finish. After having been a vatsim member since 2010, today was my first time I ever dared to actually ask for that radio check. I was sweating, scared:p, but after I got the reply, it felt like a big weight got off my shoulder and I feel ready to do my first touch and goes. But I need to know the whole flow from beginning to end written down on paper. Tried googling it, but cant really find what im looking for.
  18. So since "study level" isnt acceptable anymore(worked fine for 20years). What are we now gonna call A2A/pmdg stuff to explain it takes more than a monkey brain to get in the air? Like, lets say a few weeks someone announces plane xxx from developer xxx, and someone comes and ask, is it study level? We have to respond, study level doesnt exist.... So he ask, is it complex? We reply, yes very complex. So he ask again, how complex? Then one of us just get tired and say, its f.... study level. Then the guy that ask all this, reply, thanks, now I understand,, off to the shop
  19. Its not about being elite for me, but a carenado plane is just boring for me versus an A2A study level plane. Like I said before, if I have to read the manual to not mess up, its study level for me. If I just can start at runway, firewall the throttle and abuse the plane without any concequences its not study level, because there is simply not anything to study to fly the thing.. Even if the default plane has study level avionics, doesnt make the plane study level for me, only the avionics is... Its the complete package of deep stuff that makes it study level, though it can lack a few bits if the whole package is complex enough..
  20. When I started and was a noob when it came to addons, I almost bought the whole fleet for FSX from Carenado. Then I dig deeper into simming and realised, all the planes I bought was nice looking trash. I found A2A and never looked back. To me Carenado seem too be able to pump out planes faster than I change underwear, when others spend 2 years developing 1 plane. Too me something has to get lost in such rapid development, like "quality vs quantity". They probably have their market and use, but I will not buy those planes. That would be like buying default planes for the sim, only difference, I can open the door.
  21. The cessna 172 completly loose rudder at 15 knots direct crosswind and weatherwanes into the wind. I know the demonstrated crosswind limit is 15 knots, but that there is artificially no rudder left in that kinda wind, I higly doubt... Luckily my Piper Arrow wich has 17knots demonstrated crosswind limit only start to loose rudder at 22-23 knots in the sim. So I can live with a default aircraft behaving weird... Correct me If Im wrong,,,
  22. wont even bother, last time in OP's thread, I tried, the moderator was singing along with this guy, lol and got himself into mine is bigger than yours fight,,,
  23. This is why I attack this higly suspicious behaviour...... So, he loved the fenix(which he hated a week ago) and seem content with the sim,,,,,13 hours ago, then 3 more hours go by, he suddenly have an issue, which he also coincedently happen too have about one week ago. And he ends it with "prepar3d is miles ahead or something", last time he had this same issue,"this sim was nothing but an xbox game" and he said he will go back to he's real sim prepar3d or something.... And this is probably the last we heard of him for now, until he's next "this vs that or something" fishy thread comes up where he will repeat himself, vanish, and let the thread go hot. He's probably somehwere right now reading this thread and laughing about how stupid we are to fall for he's bait:D
  24. We can all discuss sematics all day and what not, but basicly every simmer that hasn't lived on the moon the past 20 years all know what to expect when someone annouces a, or talks about, a study level plane....
