General question about flying jetliners
Watching video tutorials Reading tutorials (for the old-school folks here) Downloading manuals (like those from (SmartCockpit) Before the internet boom, you bought CD add-ons that came with printed manuals If you were lucky enough to have CBT Before diving into tutorials or manuals, understanding the fundamentals was essential especially back in the day when resources were limited and learning was more hands-on.

A Call to Asobo: Fix the Core of MSFS
Guys, you could explain why I am wrong or not. Yes of course you can see what the platform lacks by watching videos from different platforms, looking at channels, or reading comments from real pilots. As I'm repeating myself, that is not the point of this discussion.

A Call to Asobo: Fix the Core of MSFS
We are talking about improvements. While there are other important aspects of flight, and yes, another simulator might do them better, please keep it simple here. This topic is not for comparing, talking about who is bigger, or making comments like "make your own sim" or "wake up.

A Call to Asobo: Fix the Core of MSFS
@YukonPeteThere is a simulator that handles these aspects well, but it lacks high-quality graphics. However, this isn't about comparing platforms—it's about suggesting improvements.

A Call to Asobo: Fix the Core of MSFS
Hello fellow simmers, I've been flying since the FS2000 era, and I can confidently say that flight simulation as a platform and community has made huge strides forward. However, I’ve never used Microsoft Flight Simulator—neither the 2020 version nor the upcoming 2024 release. That said, I still watch hundreds of videos about the new platforms and their addons. Unfortunately, what I’ve noticed is that MSFS feels more like a toy simulator. It seems the company is leaning toward an Xbox/PS5-oriented experience, likely for extra revenue, which has disappointed the core flight sim community. I’m hoping for major improvements in the future, especially in the following areas: The Weather Engine The weather engine isn’t as good as it seems. Just look at the high-altitude thunderstorms and cloud formations like CBs—they’re not convincing. Compare that to the new X-Plane weather system: it’s night and day. That’s real flight—you have to deal with hazards like weather. In this regard, MSFS falls short. Even the weather radar, in my opinion, lacks accuracy.Even when braking, the simulation doesn't feel realistic. The aircraft doesn't respond with proper deceleration, especially in icy or wet conditions, which makes the experience less immersive. The Lighting System The lighting system is definitely unrealistic. You’ll probably agree that difficulties arise when moving around the ramp—the overall feeling just doesn’t seem accurate. Again, compare it to other flight simulators and you’ll notice the difference Ground Handling As you can see when flying or watching videos, ground handling issues—like rudder response and friction—still haven’t been properly addressed. The simulator needs better tire grip and more realistic rolling resistance. Visual Effects Rain and snow effects on the windshield in MSFS still feel underdeveloped. The way precipitation hits and moves across the glass lacks realism—there’s no convincing streaking, smearing, or dynamic visibility changes. In real-world flying, these effects are critical for immersion and situational awareness, especially during taxi, takeoff, and landing. Other simulators have done a better job simulating how weather interacts with cockpit surfaces. MSFS needs improvement in this area to match the visual fidelity of its environment. I hope these concerns reach the right people at Asobo and lead to improvements in these and other areas of the MSFS platform. Of course, feel free to add your own suggestions for what needs improvement. Have nice flights!

How do PMDG make airplanes
the first step should be done at the fsdevelopers page. Secondly you must have programming knownledge. C++ is a superior language if you are starting now it may take you months or years to learn how to use it in the fs world. You should also learn how operating systems work too because with such a project you will need to use efficienntly the threads and some other stuffs (multithreading etc).XML programming is also useful and also database modelling too(database modelling is difficult.I have a lesson in my college about databases and believe me it is not so" funny","easy" that i could expected) for visuals 3ds max studio and photoshop is a good start as they mentioned above. Last one be patient work hard and always learn and learn

ASN sp1
OAL809 replied to OAL809's topic in The AS16 and ASCA | Active Sky | Active Sky Next | XPAX Support ForumHello Andy.I think that the leader developer had mentioned about the update at the pmdg forum if i am correct.Probably after the release of the pmdg 777 sp1 they will work for the asn sp1 too

ASN sp1
hello fellow simmers,I had read that a service pack update for the hifi ASN will be near completion at summer.Do we know when about? (no date exactly ex at the end of july, at two months etc) i am thinking to try the trial version first to see whats goin' on with my heavy unformatted windows system (lol) but i would like to know the fixes, better perfomance etc (i know perfomance depends on graphics) All regards

AffinityMask
OAL809 replied to Laban4's topic in The AS16 and ASCA | Active Sky | Active Sky Next | XPAX Support Forumfrom http://#####.wordpress.com AffinityMask=14 This tweak, on a quad core, moves the FSX onto the Core1 (2nd core), to basically split fibers and main thread. It is good because Windows is usually having its processes on the Core0, so moving to Core1 is giving FSX more breathing space. It is also sacrificing one texture thread, since all that comes after Main Thread are Texture Threads. This means FSX is running with Core0 – Fibers, Core1 – Main Thread, Core2+3 – Texture Threads. That’s OK like that.

"Microsoft Sells License to FS Franchise"
I remember few years ago that Aerosoft would try to make a new platform sim but nothing at all. Also SimGiants had announced the making of a new platform sim but again nothing at all I dont know if the guys from closed ACES studio have something in their mind Dont forget that we have also the Outtera as an engine for flight sim .I am confused months ago pmdg announced a surprice that was coming (no P3D ,XPlane and 747v2 747-8v2 and EFB's something else)

Update: Aerosoft Airbus Projects Preview
because airbus stopped producing them and many companies consider to retire them and replace them with 777 or 330 or 787 and maybe a350 (fuel efficiency lower costs etc)

Update: Aerosoft Airbus Projects Preview
i have to disagree.I dont use any airbus but as i can see from pictures and videos. Both companies are aiming for all customers yes both fsl and aerosoft.I will not discuss about blackbox and airsimmer 1) pricing.Of course fsl have invested more money for their product but i am 100% that it will totally worth any reasonable price and wait. you pay what you get. 2) If you check the new update from fsl it has much better and reaslistic VC than aerosoft.Aerosoft airbus has a nice vc texturing but i think it's a bit cartoonish comparing with othe devs 3)Yes they simulate every system but the point is how all the systems work togethe, how realistic are, and of course how the fbw system works .I am sure only one developer has achieved to simulate 99,9999% of an airbus and yes it' s fsl

PMDG vs. Airbus
οχι ρε ουτε καν μακρια this means no way.Check youtube and forums to underastand what i am sayin

PMDG vs. Airbus
A good A330 is far away right now -even aerosoft's one -FSL -collaboration McPhat Studios with ??
-
PMDG vs. Airbus
The anwser is no .There are already in development some airbuses .One of them was mentioned here and will be as perfect as pmdg's aircrafts.Consedering this it will be not a good investment right now to make an airbus.Dont forget that they have too much work for 777 SP1 -300ER 747 v2 (my first ever addon back in fs9 i am looking forward for the v2) 747-8i DC6 737 NGX SP2 EFB's for their aircrafts P3D versions and X-plane

The MD-11 is my favourite PMDG simulation, and certainly the most interesting plane so far...
It was said many times that they will not rebuild the MD-11 because the sales rate was not enough (i believe the opposite many simmers fly this beauty and they have fallen in love with MD. I think the most important factor was the big difference from boeing's aicraft logic.Perhaps they did not succeed to make it to seem more easy even though the AoA training.I do NOT blame pmdg this is just a guess. Piracy was a problem too.Another reason that they will not rebuild it, is the withdrawment of some team members that they had coded the MD. Anyway, if nowadays they remake this a/c ,it will be a success,i believe, but it's not so easy because they have actually other projects to finish and think about ^_^

Problem with uncommanded flap deployment
You are welcomed.Check the fsuipc .Usually fsuipc causes some problems.Update or set default settings and see what happens

Problem with uncommanded flap deployment
I saw this problem from a friend with his saitek throttle .He used to control flaps via the left lever of his saitek throttle which was problematic

SP1 Beta Polar Flight (Photos)
Hello David.Thank you very much.So when i am going to fly a polar route, my flight plan should be near the North Pole like Luke gave us here ^_^ (3 and 4 image)

SP1 Beta Polar Flight (Photos)
amazing pics. Some questions!! -How easy is to fly polar routes in fsx?Are there any limitations?? -Does the ASNext cover the polar? -Does the PFPX have polar routes, flex etc? If anyone has a tutorial flight for polar routes in fsx send me B)

These guys are serious...?
I believe two things.First one it's a hijack. As we know transponder could be disenganged only by a person.ACARs communication was also disabled. No emergency squawk 7700 No hijacking code 7500 What about air traffic control? If the aircraft was flying offcourse with transponder ON it is easy to identify it that was not flying on the actual route. another parameter,WMKK-ZBAA distance is about 5 and half hours .At the preflight preparation maybe the could have +2 hours of extra fuel for diversion, weather, etc In the event of de- pressurazation they just could communicate wih ATC or we could see debris in a case of totally loss of the a/c Twelve days have passed and nothing in the horizon. The technology nowadays is so advanced that we could find debris or the a/c's offcourse in few hours or days. I dont like conspiracy theories but from this point of view 1)secret intellegince has a relationship with all this events or even they want to cover something else 2)it was destroyed from a military exerscise by accident or deliberately 3)was hijacked and landed for terrorist purposes or something else
