  2. Same issue here.... Try disabling high res. virtual cockpit in the FSX menu. Brgds Kevin
  3. yeah, no big difference. Disabling high res VC nearly eliminate the patterns and the loss of quality really isn`t that bad so i guess that`s the way to go. Wynthorpe: No, it`s Nvidia.
  4. Thanks! I tried changing the AA settings but it didn`t seem to have any effect. Zooming in a bit definitely helps but eliminating the patterns also means that the view gets very narrow. I really hope there is some other way to remove it...
  5. I`m having a bit of an issue with some strange patterns or reflections on the cockpit displays. It looks like the ones described in this thread but i only have them on the displays. http://forum.avsim.net/topic/418339-weird-reflections-in-vc/ Anyone else experience this? Kevin
  6. No problem, i guess we overlapped our replies! I`m glad you worked it out, it`s a shame Saitek won`t fix this!
  7. All Saitek throttle quads have this issue, the center lever must be displaced forward the others in order to get the same output values. It`s been like this for years and Saitek seem completely uninterested in fixing this... I have had six of these units and all had the exact same problems. There are two solutions to this: leave them as-is and use the registered FSUIPC function "Sync pos" to match them. Use the windows calibration: 1: Start the calibration wizard in windows and check the Show raw data bow. This displays the output numbers of the three axes. 2: Then you center the left and right levers (their physical and numerical centers should be the same) and move the center lever to the point where it`s in the numerical center position. This should place it slightly ahead of the L/R levers. 3: Now you can start the calibration by first confirming that the levers are in the center position. 4: After you complete moving them forward and back during calibration it is very important that you return them to the exact (numerical) center positions you used in point 2. With a little luck they should match up both physically and output wise. It takes a bit of fiddling to make it work but the results are well worth it. I prefer this procedure as it let you use the slope axis function in FSUIPC to curve the lower half of the throttle slope. I hope my typing is somewhat understandable Brgds Kevin
  8. Oh man, this one is even further from release! (Check the altimeter.. ^_^ )
  9. Hello all, i hope someone can help we with this. As you know FSX automatically add lightning and thunder effects to metars containing CB reports. With Active Sky you have the option to only have lightning when TS is reported but with OpusFSX this is not possible. In the part of the world i normally fly in CB`s are very common but lightning on the other hand is very rare, maybe once or twice a year at best, so i was wondering if there is a way to completely remove lightning effects completely from FSX? Thanks!
  10. Thanks for your response, ill have a look at that! Strange enough i had my control axes assigned via FSUIPC and all worked well before i installed the Aerosoft A320. After that my throttle levers began overriding the autothrottle and the flaps started acting strange, when i selected flaps 5 the plane acted more like it was flaps 40 or even more. I really hope they can be run through FSUIPC again since the Saitek throttles are notorious for their spiking and not being in sync with each other.
  11. Hello all, i know assigning control axes in FSUIPC is a big no-no in the NGX but what about joystick buttons? Will they cause the same problems with flaps and throttles? Thanks! Kevin
  12. I tried resetting the weather download settings and it seems a bit better now. Maybe an option to lock update intervals at a predefined time instead of time vs. distance would do the trick? As for TS with CB`s you are right but not for all parts of the world, up here (Scandinavia) we often have reports of CB activity but very rarely have any lightning and if we do they add TS to the METAR. During winter time you will see CB reports all the time and this would mean a whole lot of thunderstorms in FSX but not in real life. So an option to inhibit thunderstorms unless they are specifically reported would add a lot to realism in certain parts of the world. This is an option in "the other" weather program for fsx and is really handy. Anyway, these are just small things and you have done a great job so far! Thank you once again! Kevin
  13. Hello, i updated to latest version today and the problem seems to have gotten worse, now the clouds redraw at least once a minute. I have set the updates to 2 minutes and 196km. Also, i have noticed FSX adds lightning to all CB clouds, is there a way to force lightning only when thunderstorms have been reported? Thanks!
  14. First of all, thank you for this excellent addon! This have revolutionized weather for FSX! I have a couple questions regarding winds aloft and weather updates though. Firstly, i`m right now cruising at FL370 just off the NW tip of Spain enroute to LPMA. The observed wind is 283\20 but on the winds aloft charts from the met office the wind should be in the 50+ knots range, the direction seems to be right though. The wind strength has been "stuck" at 20 knots for the last 5-600 miles or so with a few changes in direction underway. I tried refreshing weather and restarting Opus but to no avail. Second: Every few minutes there is a gentle "flicker" on the horizon that i would guess comes from the weather updates, is there anybody else experiencing this? Three: In the PMDG NGX in 2D cockpit mode you should be able to see the left wingtip when you look over your left shoulder but after installing Opus it has disappeared. I guess this have something to do with the camera module? When you first look that way after loading the plane the wingtip is there but it suddenly disappears after a couple seconds. Brgds Kevin
