  1. Had this issue with SPIc, ended up, un-installing the 777 completely and then re-installing and it worked. Rob
  2. Guys I am just after some help, not wanting to get into petty comments which are not helpful! Craig, thanks for your suggestion, some weird goings on. The altitude seems to have stabilised, but I don't know why, it was doing it yesterday aswell. But checking the wind displayed on the MCP, it is showing 15 degrees/15kts, yet the Learjet in the exact same location shows 50/50kts and the Aerosoft Airbus 47/51kts and the local METAR suggest 065/67kts. Whilst you would expect maybe a couple of kts or degrees adrift, the 777 is well out. I am currently flying longhaul EGLL to VTBS and throughout the wind on the 777 has been similar to what it is now, grossly different to what I would expect with much higher wind speeds and differing directions throughout the journey, yet the weather machine and setup hasn't changed. Cannot explain this! Rob
  3. Sam, thank you for your reply. The first part, I don't use FSUIPC for the throttle. The second part, forgive me, but I puzzled, may have to email OPUS for some help. Rob
  4. Prior to the update this issue wasn't happening, since the update, the aircraft cannot hold a particular altitude, fluctuating by between 100-300 ft either side, never allowing the flight compression to take place. As mentioned this did not happen prior to the update and nothing else has changed on my system. I did have a problem installing the update and had to uninstall the 773 & 777LR and then re-install them again. I have noticed something else, on the FMC the winds are reading what I would expect, such as on my current leg at 33000ft, 303/60Kt, whereas on the map on the MCP shows of 007/09kts and that doesn't seem to change. I use Opus FSI weather, FSUIPC (resgistered version) and I have Windows 8, but as said before, none of that has changed. Any help would be appreciated. Rob
  5. Sorry to dampen the spirits of those enjoying the new update. I uninstalled the 777 completely and then re-installed it including the updates and all is now well. Such an impressive aircraft! Rob
  6. Hi I complied with the Automatic update as above, however, I am left with no panels at all, some instruments are visible on black backgrounds. Whilst I am still testing it, I also find the undercarriage will not retract. Any similar problems or suggestions as to the way forward? Rob
  7. Found the solution...... Tried re-installing the 773 before the 772LR base package......WRONG! Installed the base package first, then the 773 add-on and everything works fine. Rob
  8. Hi I have uninstalled and re-installed my 777, removing the licence via the FMS before doing so. Having now re-installed the aircraft, and providing the licence when required, when the aircraft is visible, nothing is operating on the VC, no switches work, no lights no instruments, nothing. I uninstalled the aircraft via the control panel, "uninstall program" facility. Does anyone know where I have gone wrong? Thanks for any help Rob
  9. What is the current likelihood of the 777 weather radar working with Opus without ASN? Rob
  10. There is plenty of examples of users having joystick issues with windows 7, its not just a windows 8 issue! FSUIPC was one of my first paid addon's, something which I never regretted. As the joystick is such an important part of FSX, I wouldn't have a problem buying FSUIPC to make it work. Rob
  11. I have been using windows 8 and more recently 8.1 with FSX and PMDG's aircraft for some time. I have found the operating system to be very stable. I did a clean install with windows 8 and allowed windows to upgrade to 8.1 without any new install of my FSX program's or addons, yes I do have joystick issues but once I configured FSUIPC, the joystick works. My PMDG addons are the 737NGX, 747, J41 & B777. I also use ProAtc without any problems. Hope this helps Rob
  12. I had this issue yesterday for the first time, flying over northern Canada during a step climb. I changed to FO view then back to Pilots view. I did not see this problem listed on PMDG's topic of outstanding issues Rob sorry, my reply crossed with Ryan's Rob
  13. Skino Success, both the Hello-Rob & the test version. Thank you Rob
  14. Skino Tried all of your suggestions, and the latest version, to no avail. I have also tried running at Win7 compatibility. When I 'open' the exe file, it clearly uses resources (from Task Manager) but just does not display anything on the screen. It appears, I am the only one who is suffering any issues! I appreciate your help, perhaps in my case, things weren't meant to be. Rob
  15. Skino Thank you for your 64bit optimised version, but it didn't work. I also tried the latest version you uploaded, that also failed. I tried disabling my anti-virus, but it made no difference. I appreciate your efforts though Rob
  16. Skino Thanks for your quick reply I use windows 8 64 bit & have tried the program with & without administration rights. My anti-virus is AVG. Rob
  17. Skino The program looks really good, but, I can't get it to work! Downloaded the file today, the version dated 17 Sept. Does the files need to be anywhere specific? I run the exe file, it is listed on the background processes on task manager, but nothing happens. Would appreciate some help. Rob

    Win 8

I have no problems running FSX and loads of add-on's including PMDG's aircraft including this latest dream machine 777 on Windows 8 64 bit. Yes I have had joystick problems, but according to some forums, it happens on windows 7 aswell. I have my joystick configured through FSUIPC and it works perfectly. Rob
  19. This is not a purely Win 8 problem, it exists in Win 7 aswell. My system seems more stable by configuring the joystick through FSUIPC Rob
  20. Bill Found this useful, it goes some way to providing the information http://www.greekislands.gr/skyexpress/images/j41.pdf Rob
