  1. Ditto. Only using FSX, and using latest version of precip FX installer. Win7 64 bit Have FSX installed to a secondary (non C) Drive.
  2. Agree with 100% with Scianoir. I'll add that their F-111, C-17, B-1B*, and T-34C are all a lot of fun to fly, and at this price a great bargain. *the FSX version. They also sell the older Alphasim B-1b, which hasn't aged too well IMHO.
  3. Trust me, you lucked out. I just purchased my Phenom, and must have hit the download button right as the SQL hit the fan... The result is I tried several times to download the package, but burned through all three downloads and none of them finished (tried in IE, Chrome, and Firefox, all of them quit about half way through) :( As warned, I did disable anti-virus, and don't use download accelerators, so this clearly isn't an issue on my side. I normally buy through simmarket, but they didn't have it up yet. Lesson learned: go through a third party who has their act together from now on! To be clear, all these complaints are against Carenados website, and limited download policy. I generally find their products excellent, and look forward to maybe even getting to fly their new one some day... PS: Dear all developers everywhere, enough with the the limited download non-sense already. it's not saving you bandwidth, it's not having any effect on piracy, and it's just irking your customers.
  4. I know the feeling. My first sim was the (comparatively modern) A-10 Tank Killer 2: Silent Thunder: And here's todays DCS Warthog Makes you wonder what things will look like 15 years from today...
  5. So I just downloaded Rlaborie's new A400M (link below), and overall it's a nice bird, with one major, glaring flaw: http://secure.simmarket.com/rlaborie-cargo-400m-fsxp3dv2.phtml It uses the stock Beach King sounds  Considering the whole package only cost $26 (USD), I'm not blaming the dev. But, I would like to know if there's anything out there (free or paid, I'm open to both) that can at least approximate the sound of four 11,000 SHP (!) turbines swinging 9 bladed props. Here's what I'm shooting for: ^Addmittidly, it's gonna be tough to get too close, as from some angles it sounds more like a Turbo-fan than a turbo prop (at what point do you have so many blades that you basically have a TF without a housing, anyway?). Thoughts?
  6. http://secure.simmarket.com/milviz-c310r.phtml ^ Expires the 30th of March. A great deal on (what I'm told) is a great airplane. Just downloaded, about to take her up for a spin.
  7. Sold. Although I find all this positive feedback a bit odd, given that Simmarket shows the product as being available "03/23/2014"
  8. I' m sold pending 2 questions: 1. Does it play nice with P3DV2? (most scenery does, but never hurts to ask) 2. Anyone have pics of just this product with the surrounding area being populated by FTX-G? That's the setup I'll be going with for now. Thanks!
  9. A very fair point on pricing. People often underestimate how much of a PITA it is from an e-commerce stand point to manage so many different types of transactions and licenses. Still on the fence myself between the both version or the P3D V2 version. I'm using only P3D V2 now, but might go back to FSX one day if the OOM errors don't cease. I'm having way too much fun your 732 not to buy this one through :-) In any event, are there any out-of-the-gate differences between the FSX and P3D V2 versions, or is it simply a matter of the P3DV2 version coming with a "warranty" of sorts that you'll maintain it's future support for P3DV2 as development of the sim continues? Also, any clue as to how the Steam gauges version will be sold? For example, would it be one upgrade package for all products, or a separate upgrade for the FSX or the P3DV2 versions?
  10. So I'm starting to get more and more into "real world" navigation, including ILS approaches. With that in mind, I'm looking for a way to lookup the approach plates for a given airport. The product I'm looking to is Simplates http://www.dauntless-soft.com/products/simplates/ I know Simplates doesn't integrate with the sim directly (I plan to buy the iPad version), but I was wondering if it was "in snyc" with the airport database in P3D v2. Would I be able to use Simplates without having to worry about either of them being out-dated?
  11. At the moment, Arma 3 lacks many of those features as well, but it has to simulate an entire combat experience. I'm betting we'll see mods for arma that fill in the gaps. And yes, Shooting stuff underwater can be fun, although IRL I prefer to do so with a camera As far as simulating ones body, a dive computer could have been integrated into the release that tracks Nitrogen. Again, I understand that they decided to ditch some (a lot...) of realism to make a 'fun' title, but they really aren't delivering there either.
  12. Sorry to make the first thread here a less-than-kind one, but I'm a bit disappointed. This isn't a Simulation title. It belongs somewhere like Xbox Live Arcade. I don't mean that in a bad way, it's just that this is to SCUBA as Flight is to Flight sims. It's just missing too much to wear the title of Simulation. First, a quick background on myself: I've been diving for the past 12 odd years (Certified at age 14) and am currently a NAUI Certified Dive Master (basically one 'rank' below instructor, and able to dive as a professional dive lead). I have over 250 dives under my belt in places ranging from flooded quarries to WWII wrecks off the coast of North Carolina. I bought this 'sim' today excited to see what product labling itself "Scuba Simulation" could bring to the table. I was disappointed. Things missing: -Zero acknowledgement of Nitrogen loading in blood tissue. For deeper dives, say to anything past 85 feet or so, Air supply isn't usually your limiting factor. Instead, it's the amount of time you can stay down before you body on-loads too much nitrogen to safely return to the surface without suffering the Bends. If you stay down past this limit, you must practice decompression diving (generally not widly practiced in the recreational community for safety reasons). All this title tracks is Air and depth. This is akin to a flight sim not simulating wind. -You have no dive buddy. But that's ok, programming AI is hard work. -The gear selection is a joke. Air tanks are a prime example: Rather than give you options such as 80s, 100s, dual 80s etc, you 'get' to unlock different liveries for your tanks. Pathetic. -Zero mechanics in place for buoyancy. The 'Neutral' buoyancy button just re-centers the camera. #####? -Speaking of "#####?," The controls are...."unique." It uses WASD, except for the 'A' and 'D' keys (so...WS?). The mouse is used to turn and pivot the camera. This isn't the worst offence in the title, but they could do better. -Visual options essentially don't exist. You get a series of pre-sets like Basic through to beautiful and that's it. Zero allocation for advanced visual tweaking. -The surface doesn't exist: Try breaking the surface of the water and you're simply asked if you want to end the dive. -No TrackIR support. Pretty much a requirement for any sim that takes itself seriously. I'd have been willing to forgive this is it wasn't so lacking in other areas. Here's the part where I'm supposed to say that if your just looking to kill some time looking at pretty virtual fish and ship wrecks without the complex 'dive snob' stuff, this is for you. I can't. The graphics are terrible. If there were actual sim elements at play, I'd be more than forgiving of the lacking visuals, but there isn't any substance there either. Generally these days a self-titled 'sim' can get by with either beauty or brains, but Infinite Scuba has neither. I want my $10 back.
  13. By that point we'll all be complaining because this isn't forwars compatible with FSXI...
  14. And your getting the in-sim message saying that the plugin is working?
