  1. I had a quick look at the home page while it was up briefly yesterday. It was a brand new site with some new products on it. Importantly, the academic license was still being advertised. I'd guess that they're about to do a big relaunch. I hope! Ian

Much appreciated by me, certainly. And my thanks to Pete too. Ian

Yes, I can confirm that my aircraft are also placed a few metres short of the take-off position. Of course it's easy to move it but if there is an easy way to fix the positioning in a later version, then it would make a great product even better! Ian

Thank you, Maarten. V3.5 is working beautifully! Ian
  5. I moved to P3D in search of a simple, stable, reliable simming experience where I could just jump in, fly and enjoy myself. I put myself in the hands of Word Not Allowed and with a clean config file I did exactly what he said. And then I copied all his setting in Nvidia Inspector. And I've been very happy and haven't needed to change a thing. Except... Just one thing, Word Not Allowed. The recent thread about the setting for Anisotropic Filtering where you agreed that it should be Application Controlled. Your guide still says User Defined/Off but that change made a noticeable Improvement. Will you be updating the guide? Ian

I've got all the time in the world, Maarten. It's you I worry about! Take the evening off, go out for a beer and send me the bill. Fix it tomorrow! Ian

Hi Maarten. Unfortunately, v3.3 and 3.4 freeze constantly during the selection process. Mostly on the aircraft selection screen but also on airports and weather. I have to keep clicking outside the frame to unfreeze it. It did this before with one of the earlier versions but you fixed it. It now seems to have become unfixed. I haven't made any changes to my system that might have affected it. Ian

Maarten. I've just tried out v2.3 and I'm really happy with it. While there may still be a few minor bugs to sort out, I haven't found any yet. So I just want to thank you for creating this tool which so many of us have wanted in order to make Prepar3d more useable and convenient. It now means that I can create a new flight in a few seconds rather than the long tedious minutes that it took previously. I am very impressed with your dedication. Every time you released a new version somebody would find a new bug and a normal person would have become disillusioned and given up! But you've stuck with it and solved each problem as it has arisen. Anything else you do to it will be icing on the cake. So I just want to say thank you and let you know that I'll be making a donation on your behalf to your chosen wildlife charity, just as soon as they finish the maintenance on their website! All the best Ian

I'm using version 2.0. I find that when scrolling down the aircraft selection screen, SimLauncher freezes and I have to close it down. If I select an aircraft before I scroll far and then move to another screen then SimLauncher allows me to create a scenario and open P3D. So it performs perfectly if I don't have to scroll far to find my aircraft. It only happens on the aircraft screen. If nobody else is finding this then I suppose one of my aircraft is causing it somehow. Win 7/64, P3D Ian
  10. I'll look out for your post there and back it up. It may be more common but, like me, people don't use it often. Ian EDIT: just backed up your post in the official P3D forum
  11. You'll be pleased to know you're not alone with this issue. I have exactly the same problem. The .pln files are in the correct place but do not show up for selection in the flight planner window. It's not a big problem for me as I rarely repeat a flight plan. The flight planner works fine and will load straight into a flight and it will also save but the saved file can not be re-selected. Ian
  12. I totally agree with Clutch Cargo and I've registered on the forum specifically to say thank you to Word Not Allowed. Since installing Prepar3d 1.4 I've been very pleased with the performance out of the box and haven't used FSX. I've done a few tweaks as I've read about them but they haven't made much difference and I hadn't expected them to. However, after reading Word Not Allowed's latest advice I decided to let P3D rebuild a fresh config file and then follow all of Word Not Allowed's tweaks to the letter. So I've done exactly as Word Not Allowed suggested including additions to the config file, Nvidia Inspector and the display options in the sim. The result is wonderful. Both in the graphics, thanks to the AA settings, and in the smoothness - probably due to the VSync tweak. Many thanks, Word Not Allowed. Your hard work wasn't wasted! Ian :Applause:
