  1. I had an issue where by in the NVCP resolution setting of 5461x2880 I could only select 60Hz refresh rate and not 120Hz. Maybe this is a limitation of my Sony X90K so for me Nirvana is TAA, 100Hz, FG, Render scale at 105 & 80FPS locked in RTSS. It is crazy smooth as there is very little deviation with the FTV. I didn't think my experience couldn't get any better but it did a few days ago after I discovered I could use RTSS again to externally lock FPS !
  2. Thank you Sir ! Will give this a go later this morning
  3. Run the installer and select remove although there is no need to uninstall it, just don't run them at the same time
  4. Multiple Beers Noel ! LOL If it wasn’t for this thread I would not have tried locking fps with RTSS again, maybe it was a combination of the GPU driver and version of RTSS that caused my stuttering. Prior to getting my 4090 I always used RTSS to lock because FTV is key to great fluidity. What I discovered yesterday still has me gobsmacked. I tried lots of different values and for me 86fps seems to be the sweet spot. Now I need to re download CapframeX and see if I can beat Noel’s record 🤣
  5. Maybe that’s why I’ve never seen them, up until yesterday I just left mine automatically set at 97fps.
  6. How much room is there in your case and what are your temps like? Could it be heat related ? I knew I’d be getting a 4090 so when I built my PC last summer I chose the awesome Fractal Design Torrent case, it has 3 x 140mm fans under the GPU and 2 x 180mm fans at the front of the case
  7. That’s why I’m wondering if your CPU is having a big part in the issues your seeing Noel, maybe it really is struggling to keep up with your 4090
  8. So far yes 86 fps has been easily achievable especially with the AutoLod app. At 86 fps the sim is incredibly smooth, smoother than what I see at 97 fps because of the tighter ftv and if there is any reasonable fluctuations then GSYNC takes care of it.
  9. Here is a screenshot at 97fps, the way I was running. Look again at the FTV, it is 9.9ms but nowhere near as consistent as locked at 86fps
  10. That is so weird, I even rebooted my PC after flight No2 just to see if it was repeatable and I am glad to say it was
  11. Do you have Afterburner & RTSS latest versions? If so try try setting your FPS to 86 and turning front Edge Sync on, with a 100Hz refresh rate I am astounded. On my 3rd flight and it is still as smooth with a very consistent 11.5ms FTV
  12. I just discovered something today, I was previously running FG on my GSYNC compatible 55 inch Sony X90K (100Hz) @4K. FPS were automatically locked at 97 due to low latency being set to Ultra and VSYNC on in Nvidia Control Panel. Best I have ever seen the sim, Today I uninstalled After Burner & RTSS then installed the latest versions as I was curious to try locking FPS with RTSS again. I tried this last year when I got my 4090 and the micro stuttering was horrible when FPS were locked with RTSS. Today however is a completely different story, I was trying different settings and found that not touching anything in NVCP or the sim and simply locking the FPS to 86 in RTSS and turning Front Edge Sync on I have witnessed a level of smoothness I haven't seen before. It is bonkers smooth !!! When I was running at 97 FPS the FTV graph in RTSS was fluctuating between 7ms & 9 ms, the sim was smooth but locking it to 86 FPS with RTSS the FTV is now between 11.4ms & 11.8ms. The difference in how the sim feels is amazing it is smooth on another level. The simple explanation is as Noel discovered the more consistent the FTV is the smoother the sim will be. The beauty is at 86 FPS my 4090 has been sitting around 65% and both flights I have done this afternoon were in the Fenix with plenty of FSLTL traffic and ultra settings in the sim with shadows at 6144 and a cruise TLOD of 300. I would be curious if anyone else can replicate this, there is no flickering or artifacts just a butter smooth experience. Here is a couple of screenshots, Look at the FTV And here is a wing shot with a 12 degree bank angle
  13. I was seriously worried my 12700K would be a huge bottleneck but from what I have seen it performs fantastically. I probably wouldn't want anything less though with a 4090. I am now on my 2nd flight with fps locked at 86 and it is quite unbelievable how smooth it is, before I was at 97FPS and that was smooth (set automatically 3 below my 100Mhz refresh rate) but I am thinking the lower FTV has a lot to do with this. I am quite surprised, I'll never need to upgrade my PC again 🤣 P.s it must be quite late on The Executor, Are you planning which planet to blow up next lol
  14. It has to be something else then Noel, My TV is only GSYNC compatible, I think your display while smaller is much better quality. I get zero artifacts or major flickering as you describe, just a tiny GSYNC flicker every now and then but it really isn't noticeable on this TV and it is few and far between. So weird, The only other thing I can think of is that your current CPU might be really struggling to keep up with the behemoth that is a 4090
  15. That is so weird, I can honestly say I have never seen a single artifact from the day I put my 4090 in. What cards/motherboards are you running?
  16. Hey Noel, Are you sure this is not GSYNC flickering? I have never seen FG cause this with my 4090. If the generated frames get a little out of whack in certain lighting I get a tiny amount of flickering and that is my Sony X90K not my 4090. GSYNC flickering can be bad on some displays. I tried an LG set (Non OLED) before this one and it was headache inducing. I barely get anything on this Sony
  17. Nice write up ! Well done, will be trying this after I land in Belgrade and tuck the Fenix up for the night 🙂
  18. If you have a Stream Deck there is an excellent HWINFO plugin, I have a page setup where I monitor all my hardware and then in each aircraft page I have a FPS counter & GPU Usage. I have nothing showing in MSFS anymore
  19. I have said this before and will say it again, You Sir are a blessing to the community. Thank you for your non stop efforts to make a better experience for all of us. It is greatly appreciated. Just booting up my rig now and will test your latest release 🙂
  20. Currently have missile lock on The Executor, Now where did I put the fire button 🤣
  21. It's called Sarcasm ! That is why I never responded any further
  22. Yes there is that, I do like having the ability to have the OLOD at max on the ground and minimum in the air. Maybe this could be added to the auto app, above a certain FL the OLOD changes to a preset value similar to the TLOD on the ground feature. Call it "OLOD in the air" The beauty is that when the auto app is installed the other one still remains in tact. I mainly fly the Fenix or the PMDG and both seem to work well, I have some time over the next few days so I am going to switch back to the other version and compare.
  23. Again, if they use them regularly they could end up paying for them the next month and the month after ..................................
