  1. Hi folks, I would appreciate if someone was able to make a module for A2A P-40 Warhawk. Cheers
  2. Long story short. Performance killer found - TrueEarth_NL. As suggested, first I removed Nvidia Inspector, Vector and NL and sim became already much smoother, although not super yet. Then I added AM=30, locked 30fps in Riva and set Vsync with TB. Sim became smooth like a silk even with 747 circling above EHAM at dusk and dawn. I re-enabled Vector, still smooth. Re-enabled NL and bang, the same word not allowed like at the beginning. Just in case I removed this time Vector only but it didn't help. As for CPU usage, yes, in EHAM, EDDF or EGLL area Core1 (and only this one) hits 100% but no stuttering, no slideshow. GPU usage dropped to 40 up to 85%, occasionally only spiking to 100%. Occasionally and not 60-70% of time. I must mention that world settings are the same as I used before for both, GA and airliner. In regards to other suggestions: I did tests with lower resolutions and to be honest, even with lighter impact on GPU usage, there was no difference how sim behaved with its slideshow. It seems that DisplayFusion also do not interfere with the sim, no difference observed in CPU or GPU utilization, neither it generates any visual issues. On the side, I do recommend this tool for everyone who wants to manage even a one monitor. As for monitor's refresh rate: I tried once again on 120Hz as well as 60Hz which is the lowest I can pick up but so far with 144Hz sim works best. With lower one it starts to struggle generating more stuttering. At this point, I ended tests. I am really happy with results, although I will investigate why TE_NL hits me like that now, while it worked nicely in past. But since I wasted few days on tests (before I started topic here), TE_NL will have to wait uninstalled. At the moment I want to enjoy the sim again. @Kilo60 P3D isn't a dead horse and won't be for at least few of years and yes, it can perform fine. Sure, it won't work great out of the box, neither it looks great without 3rd party addons but it's still very good sim and I'm really happy LM took it under their umbrella and brought it to the state it is right now. Of course, many simmers, including me, are looking into the future and FS20 but last 25 years taught me to not throw up own expectations too high when you have to rely on others. Falling down hurts. Similar texts like "P3D" is dead I already heard just when XP11 was announced and what? I guess we all know now that both sims have pros and cons, right? As for Windows 10, I will for sure make a clean install, always prefer this way. I want to thank each of you for all suggestions, also those I didn't check yet, I will keep them in mind just in case I need them in future. Regards Mark
  3. Hi guys, Thank you for all comments, I appreciate it. Let me answer to each one. Like Paul said, it's i5 and it doesn't have HT. None of the desktop i5 had this technology enabled so far AFAIK and that's why (6C/6T) was written in specification. :-)| F737NG Going down with settings is some workaround but it isn't actually what I'm looking for. Like I said, I was able to run the sim smooth on these settings so I'm sure the rig is capable of it. But, just in case I limited the coverage to low and medium but with no luck. As for cloud layers within AS settings, I already use only three layers. In general, there was no difference during the tests with injected weather vs. clear sky. DellyPilot There is no problem with CPU load. As I mentioned in initial post, I don't use AM entry in .cfg anymore. I assigned cores via ProcessLasso tool. As for the tweaks in .cfg, there is none at the moment. I'm not sure anymore but I think in old config I had few entries edited. One of them was mentioned by you FIBER_FRAME_TIME_FRACTION= The other ones were: RS_MIN_OBJECT_PIXEL_RADIUS= MAX_TEXTURE_REQUEST_DISTANCE= AUTOGEN_BATCH_LOD= TEXTURE_BANDWIDTH_MULT= but if these are the ones I edited and what values were used, I have no idea. Rob, Exactly, there was no changes made for hardware or addons in the meantime. In regards to "Disable fullscreen optimizations" - Win7 doesn't have it in the properties tabs, neither I recall it exists in Win7 in other place. Unless it's equivalent of turning off desktop composition (Aero) As for DesktopFusion, tested with it completely turned off, no difference was visible. Shaders were also restored to original state, cache was cleaned. TrackIR: I don't have it USB devices - that's what I didn't test yet. Although I didn't notice any connection problems, I will check it. I do run both, MSI Afterburner for GPU OC and monitoring as well as HWInfo for CPU. None of them get thermal issues. GPU do not exceed 60-62C, CPU is under <80 degrees. Neither I reach power limit threshold. Antivirus do not touch any files flight_sim related. Double checked it. Tessellation Factor - to be honest, I have never seen any performance decrease or increase when tested it on few occasions. So I assumed, it does nothing good. TEXTURE_SIZE_EXP entry - non existing. Triple Buffering - So far this was always worked better for me if turned on. Without it, more stuttering occurred. I will give it a try again however. As for the rest suggestions, I will get back to you with answer bit later. Right now make more tests (with some of your suggestions) and I see the progress although it shouldn't be perm solution IMHO, just a temporary workaround.
  4. Hello folks, This has been a desperate move for me to ask for help because through all these years when I used FSX and P3D, I was able to tweak the sim by myself. Well, at least in most cases googling was enough. This time it's however different and I didn't have a time in last couple of years to follow eventual changes so I will definitely need your help and honestly counting especially on one from @SteveW and @Rob_Ainscough as I know what knowledge about hardware and sim they both have. First of all, my PC spec: Motherboard: MSI Z370 Pro Carbon AC CPU: i5-8600K (OC wth locked 4.9Ghz) (6C/6T) RAM: G.Skill Ripjaws V 32GB GPU: MSI 1070Ti Armor 8GB (overclocked +183 / +293) GPU drivers: 441.12 nVidia Inspector: 2.13 Hard drives: 1. Samsung 960 Evo 512GB (M.2 SSD):(System / Simulator Core / Heaviest 3rd party addons 2. Samsung 850 Pro 256 GB (SATA SSD): other addons & sim apps Monitor #1: (Current) 49" Samsung CHG90 (3840x1080) 144Hz FreeSync #2: (Previous) 27" Iiyama 70Hz FreeSync System: Windows 7 Build:7601 (with all updates) It isn't the beast or the high-end rig but still for sure capable of smooth operations as it worked for last couple of years. Software: P3D v4.5.13.32097 ActiveSky v.7208 (Weather engine) REX SkyForce (Textures only) Tomatoshade: v31 used for shaders only ReShade ORBX Vector/Global/OLC_EU/GES+GEN/OLC_GB/TE_NL FreeMeshX 2.0 for Europe/Asia Airports: tons of them, mainly for Europe / from grass airfields to intl. hubs. All compatible with P3Dv4 Aircrafts: PMDG 73x/74x/77x A2A C172 AI Traffic: UT Live Other software: DisplayFusion (for splitting the screen in ~2:1 proportions. Now, I am fully aware that some addons are performance heavy, especially when rendered in the same time like FT EHAM + ORBX TE_NL so up until now I used two separate config profiles, used in various conditions. 1st for GA birds and 2nd for airliers. The thing is that in v4.3 and v4.4 I was able to fly with C172 over EHAM with mixed settings which you will find below in form of screenshots here: https://imgur.com/gallery/yIkP6cj With Boeing going one or two steps down with some sliders, mainly for "Autogen Draw Distance" and " Building Density". In both cases performance was very smooth even at dusk or dawn with overcasted sky and AI traffic at level 50%. FPS range was respecivly 30-45FPS for GA and 30-35FPS for Boeing aircrafts. The latency was ~15-30ms. As for the hardware side, CPU never exceeded usage of 25% with splitted P3D between 6 cores. I used AM= entry in config file for that. GPU in worst case scenario usually fluctuated between 65-80%. I also used some extra tweaks in p3d.cfg but don't have it anymore, neither I can recall which entries I changed. Please notice that all these values above I got on FT's EHAM with ORBX TE_NL. I mention it again because I always adjust settings starting with heaviest scenario. As I said, everything was smooth, no matter if it was in VC view or external one, neither aircraft type played a big difference. Right now, however, I am unable to reach smooth smooth results no matter what I try to do. With no changes made to sceneries, sitting at EHAM at the gate or parking in C172, everything I get is 15-25FPS with latency of 50-250ms and higher. There are some spikes of FPS to 26-32FPS and latency going below 25ms but they do't last longer than a second and that's usually when I'm at the gate and there is no movement of the plane or any airport vehicles. Please, notice that I do have turned off or lowered to minimum some of the airport and TE_NL features, for example in case of EHAM: highway traffic (off), 3D grass(off), snow effects(off), parking cars (low), apron traffic (low) As for TE_NL or GES/GEN I also turned off some files, not crucial to addon. I ran some tests at smaller airports like EGGP with OLC_GB, EDDN and EDDK. Everywhere the same performance problem. Then I moved to EPWA with Warsaw CityX from Drzewiecki Design and at this airport I saw some improvement but still slideshow when panning the camera around the cockpit, taxing or circling above the airport. Problems started already in v4.4 while ago and not sure what could cause it. Maybe GPU drivers update? These were updated few times. I moved (finally) to v4.5 HF2 directly from 4.4 two days ago but I see no difference. So, here is what I have done so far: - P3D Update: 4.4 to 4.5 HF2 (client and content) followed by LM Guide - GPU drivers updated several times. Last three versions installed after a full wipe of previous ones with DDU - Tested with and without TomatoShade and ReShade - Cleaned shader cache before each test - Cleaned SceneryIndex multiple times - ActiveSky (tested ON and OFF) - AI Traffic (tested ON and OFF) - Rebuilt prepar3d.cfg multiple times - Tested with C172 as well as PMDG aircrafts - Tested with and without AffinityMask entry in cfg. - Tested with VSync Off and On, FPS Limiter - No Limit/30/35/40/48/60 Sync and FPS Limiter tested on 3 different monitor refresh rates: 144/120/60Hz - Tested with windowed and fullscreen mode. - Tested without and with nVidia Inspector (various combinations) That's for the start. At some point, I stopped using AM entry in config and started to use ProcessLasso. I nailed P3D to cores 0,2-5 [AM=61] which seems to be the best solution so far. I also moved all addon processes from first core to balance CPU usage better. As for now, I don't see CPU being bottle-necked. There are some spikes on Core0 but it doesn't happen often. The problem is GPU usage. In past, as I said before, it never went above 80%. Right now it goes up to 100% every one or two seconds, it stays there for a second or two just to go down again to 40-65% and after a second be back at 100%. Two last things. If you look at the hardware and software specification, you will notice that there are two monitors mentioned. I did changed monitors while I was still with v4.3 and on the new one sim still worked fine. As for now the old one is not connected. As for the software, I listed DisplayFusion. This is a powerful tool for managing displays. Right now, I use it for splitting the screen for two virtual desktops. One taking aproximitely 60-66% of screen's width. Thanks to this I can run simulator as well as many games in fullscreen mode and still have the other part of desktop visible. However, I tested my issue with both, splitted screen and standard one. I also tested with DisplayFusion completely turned off. For testing purposes I also turned off and on all unnecessary software and services, both related and not related to sim but not crucial for system. As have you seen, I still use Windows 7. I have plans to finally switch to "10" next month or in January and wonder if the newer one gives any improvement for P3D's performance. Is it noticable? The only reason why I didn't switch till now is because Win7 is a word not allowed stable system and so far it has been supported by developers of multiple software. The only lack of features I start to feel right now is lack of DX12 and adaptive G-Sync which works with my monitor (or all of them, not sure) in Win10 only. OK, no more info comes to my mind at this point so if there is anything I missed, please, let me know and I will add it. I will appreciate your help guys and like I said at the beginning, I count especially on Steve's and Rob's help. Regards Mark
  5. Well, with Saitek's yoke it works from time to time only but better than nothing. Thanks for sharing this trick.
  6. Nope, it wasn't fixed @alpha117. I had this with 1.0.22 and in 1.0.24 still exist.
  7. Hi Keven, Yeap, I just sent an email (with attached our conversation from last year about exact problem) to support team. I wrote this post here just in case someone else from the community had this problem and maybe know the solution.
  8. Hi guys,I got problem with running VFX Central after fresh install. When I try to open VFX, all I can see is the window with downloading update and as soon as it reach 100%, another window appears, saying "Another process is blocking the updated process: System". After clicking "OK", application will close. This is the second time when something like that happen. In past after several re-installations, it started to work and I though Windows Update somehow interfered with it but it can't be it. I did not install any system updates between un- and install process of VFX. I attached the link (https://imgur.com/a/r2z8Uxt) to the screenshot with this error. I tried to find solution on forum but couldn't find anyone (or I'm blind) with this specific error. I'm running latest P3D v4.2 on Windows 7 Ultimate. I also tried to fix it with removing all folders and registry entries related for your products after uninstall process but without positive results. I appreciate any ideas. Regards Mark
  9. Hi guys, To be honest, due to the fact that everything related to sim world, I do as a hobby in my spare time only, avsim or generally any other forum aren't the best way to get in touch with me or gain my attention. Usually, I visit forums once per several months like in the case of this particular topic. :-) And to shed some light on the problem with aircraft.cfg that occurred on my first NGX repaints, here is some info for those who have no experience with these files. Like every single file read by any system or software, it has been written in some language. I do not know what kind of it is but we can simply read/write it in any text editor. It looks like this example (taken from default 600 repaint delivered with plane): If you take a look on "description" line, it has strings "\n" or "\n\n" and you won't find any second line of the text separated with "enter" button like in simple text we write usually (also here on forum). Now, what "\n" means? Quick explanation of it found on other forum: Tho, in FSX or P3D it should work, in P3D menu when you check plane's details, it doesn't separate lines in description. I can't recall if in FSX it used to work like it should, maybe it did. There is another string - "\r" - which is called Carriage Return and moves the cursor to the beginning of the line without advancing to the next line Now combination of those to - \r\n will bring End Of Line. As you can see, \n is a equivalent for "enter" button and it must be used in these config files. What I have done was using simply "enter" button to separate the default description from my www address, which generated a ridiculous loop of the empty or address lines. description=Boeing 737-600 powered by CFM engines v 1.0\nPMDG Simulations\nwww.precisionmanuals.com \n\nProduced under license from Boeing Management Company.\n\nBoeing 737, 737-600 & Boeing are among the trademarks owned by Boeing. Repaint by FSXLiveries.com "Enter" button pressed once was the only thing that caused this mess for entire aircraft.cfg for particular model. Since the day I found out what happen, I just removed "enter" separation and added \n before Repaint... That's the whole story about this mess. Again, if anyone will find any repaint on my www causing it, please let me know via one of the channels I wrote in previous post. I will take the file down, diagnose it and re-upload in correct form. Tho it isn't a commercial project, I always do my best to make everything properly. Regards
  10. Hi guys, I'm the creator of the repaints with the word not allowed lines in aircraft.cfg and it happened with old NGX repaints only, mainly 800 and 900 versions but I re-compiled those repaints to new .ptp files long time ago. As I found out, the problem was with description in config file and to be more accurate with "/n" parameter or whatever you call. Back then I did not know that it will cause the problems when I hit Enter and make thousands of separate lines, usually filled with empty space or website address. Not sure how it works and why this happen but since a day I found out, I re-wrote description and this problem doesn't occur in any of the files made later. Here is the original post (from 2015) on my www I addressed to this issue. Tho, the red marking wasn't updated on the list, .ptp were. http://www.fsxliveries.com/home--blog/important-huge-size-of-aircraftcfg-issue-737-900wl Second post (in 2016) with update: http://www.fsxliveries.com/home--blog/update-huge-size-of-aircraftcfg-for-737-900 It was a quite hard work to find out which repaints are messed because with some of them, my model (not texture) aircraft.cfg wasn't messed at all but for others it did. Thanks to several people, everything should be fine. And to let you know, none of 777 or 747 repaints were affected with this issue, neither NGX repaints made after the problem was found. In case you find any old NGX repaint which will give you the same problem again, please contact me via one of the ways below so I can re-check it again. I always do everything what possible to make things correctly so not only me but everyone can enjoy the job I have done. That's the purpose of expanding this project with new files. 11. Glad to hear that, Keven. :-) With the sequence list I described in initial post, you could be able to do whatever you want like, doesn't matter if it is in VC or outside view. The only limit would be probably your imagination. :-)
  12. Hello guys, After testing CP for few months and having better and worse experience with it, I can say that 0.4.157 works really nice. Just to be clear, I'm aware it's stil in beta stage and it will take a lot of time and your work to release 1.0 version. So far, good job! Forgive me my English, I'm not native speaker and it's evening so I'm quiet tired already. Now, there are some features I love, other just don't use. I will skip talking about "Replay Mode" since it just experimental and you will not focus on it right now and jump into Cameras. First thing I would love to see changes or I should say just improved is transition time between views. At this moment maximum time is 5 seconds. OK, for sitting in cockpit it's more than enough. However, for those of us who would like to have a wide field of possibilities to record some videos lets say in "movie" style, 5 seconds is really short time and limiting. Especially when you in outside view and you want to move camera from the front to the end of the aircraft. I know I could stretch video in editor later to 10s but there will be no smoothness as it should be. I could use several cameras starting with #1 on nose and for example #5 behind the tail and then go through them to pan around the plane when recording a content. This solution however isn't as good as it sounds. The problem here are transition curves. There is no "completely flat line" one. Not sure how I should call it in English - I'm not a native speaker. That's why I would like to ask if there is any chance that you will make these both adjustments? The other feature I would love to see would be a separate sequence list for video makers. I would love to put my views on such a list, order them (like mentioned above panning around a plane) separately and let automatically go from no.1 to no.10 or any other number depends on how many camera I would put. I have seen this feature in action while ago in OpusFSI with their Live Camera tool. Yes, OpusFSI isn't just Weather control software as many people think. :-) This "sequence" feature worked absolutely great. It was quiet hard to set everything but spectrum of adjustments that can be made in it is huge. In my opinion, feature really worth of implementing in ChasePlane. Thanks for reading. As soon as I will have another idea, I will add them here. Best Regards Wizzardos (aka FSXLiveries.com)
  13. Oh yes. I forgot... I hope I will be able to turn ads completely off soon. Let me paste copy of this entry here then: LIST OF 900WL REPAINTS (in spoiler):
  14. Hi guys. finally I have found enough time to investigate and try to fix this problem. Please, let me paste here my today's entry from my www/blog about this situation. I've explained there everything, including (partial) fix for this problem. http://www.fsxliveries.com/home--blog/important-huge-size-of-aircraftcfg-issue-737-900wl Best Regards, Wizzardos
  15. Thank you bthiago. Good to hear that. BTW, I sent an application via email. Just saw that you want it this way. Regards, Wizzardos
