  1. Hello all, I've had this crash happen five times now, all just before final approach, where event viewer reports the faulting module name as g2d.dll. I use Prepar3D v5.2.2, and these add-ons: FSUIPC6 Aerosoft A321 Orbx Global base, vector, openLC Europe, Stockholm Arlanda, TrueEarth Great Britain South Aerosoft London Heathrow REX Sky Force Active Sky P3D (7870) - also happens without AS This has happened during my five attempts at flying from Arlanda to Heathrow, but it didn't happen when I flew from Arlanda to Tallinn on NGXU. I have the latest NVIDIA drivers and the latest Windows 10 version. I've tried reinstalling Windows and all my add-ons, but this hasn't solved the issue.
  2. Not anytime soon I assume, their hands are full with the 747v2 and DC-6. And this aircraft is rather uncommon as well, so expect a prepar3d release in no less than 3 years.... I know it's a great aircraft. I haven't flown it much, I just bought it to complete my PMDG collection. But with the few flights I have done with it, I have liked every single moment in that aircraft. If you are looking for a good turboprop, you should look at the Q400 by Majestic. I do not own it, but it seems pretty nice.
  3. Thank you. Great that you have modelled all the engines.
  4. Hi I reinstalled FSX-SE in an attempt to fix some issues, but I instead encountered a new one. Whenever I press Alt+Enter to exit or leave full-screen, the sim stays in the current state (full-screen or windowed) and displays a black screen. I can press Esc and view the End Flight, and return to the main menu, but nothing else. After returning to the main menu, the aircraft preview is also black. I have tested this on a default aircraft and a PMDG 737NGX. I am running Windows 10 and FSX is not tweaked.
  5. Thanks, was just asking in case I had misunderstood something. I hadn't really followed the development until September last year.
  6. Hi Just a quick question, will the base pack of the upcoming PMDG 747 v2 include the 747-400 model? Thanks.
  7. DXTbmp? Never heard of it. What does it do? Sorry for the late reply, I'm not AVSIM often.
  8. Of course you can. The question is if you can pack it into a .ptp package. I don't know how PMDG designed that format, 7-zip cannot open it. I believe there are some instructions in the Paint Kit readme.
  9. Hello. Today I finally made the switch to Prepar3D and I love it so far, except for one CTD that I have had happen. When I first load a flight, everything works fine. However, if I was to load another flight, or reload the same flight on top of the original one, P3D crashes without any error message. After investigating the App Crash View, it seems that it is caused by PMDG_737_NGX.dll. I do have the P3D version of the NGX, I'm running Prepar3D 3.1 on 64-bit Windows 10. 10. That's what FSX already is.... Only the base product is included in the price.
  11. Fixed it already. I had SimConnect.cfg in My Documents, which was causing the problem.
  12. Checked these folders, SE was not added. For now I have switched back to FSX classic. I might have to reinstall Windows to fix this issue, as PMDG support is unavailble during daytime in my country, and I have to wait until they reply at night.
  13. I had a copy of the latest installer on my hard drive. Pretty sure it's the latest because I downloaded it in September.
  14. Hi I bought FSX:SE today and removed old FSX and all add-ons before installing SE and reinstaling add-ons. But the NGX doesn't seem to work. It does not open an activation window, and the loading screen freezes at 0%. It does work with other aircraft. All versions of SimConnect are installed. Thanks.
  15. if you don't like my question, there's no need to post a rant. what did you gain with this? nothing. I bought this software for myself, and I'm free to use it however I like as long as it does not violate the EULA, and I'm free to ask a question on a public forum about this software. Is asking if having the option to add more seats so I can set as many passengers as I like possible so absurd and nonsense?
  16. Hi I have been flying the NGX for as long as I can remember, and I recently joined Thomson Virtual (http://www.thomsonvirtual.co.uk/). They operate Boeing 737-800s with the "high density" seating layout, 189 seats. However, the single class layout on PMDG's 737-800NGX is only 174. Is it possible to increase the maximum amount of passengers to 189? I know that passengers are just weight and that I could input my desired ZFW directly, but when I book a flight I get the number of passengers, not a ZFW. Thanks.
  17. Hello, For over 2 years now I have been using Active Sky 2012 as my weather engine, and it has served me well since I bought it. However, in the last few weeks I have been considering upgrading to Active Sky Next. However, it seems that the only signficant changes so far are the Weather Radar API and continued support (AS2012 will no longer be update IIRC). My question is, are there any big features of ASN that I'm not aware of? Have you upgraded to Next from 2012 and why? Is it worth the 23 euros? Thanks.
  18. Seems that Aerosoft and PMDG are setting up monopolies for high-quality add-ons, with Aerosoft taking Airbus and PMDG taking Boeing It also looks like that both companies have approaches to developing aircraft differently, and more appropriate for a certain manufacturer (e.g PMDG models systems in-depth, adds the same customisations that airlines can get, while Aerosoft makes it simple for the pilot, just like Airbus does).
  19. Source: https://ais.fi/ais/eaip/html/efhk.htm
  20. I was aware of such rules. But in some airports, like Helsinki (EFHK), the AIP documentation says that the use of the APU is not allowed, yet I still see them using the APU. Thank you very much, your answer is very helpful. Thank you. I seriously thought it was normal for the aircraft to wait 10 minutes after pushback for Cabin Ready.
  21. Hello. I have had some questions about ground operations for aircraft, about APU usage, A/C carts and beginning taxiing. My first question is, when is usually the APU started and shut down? The way I've been doing it is I start the APU 5 minutes before pushback during departure, and shut it down during de-boarding on arrival. How is it done in the real world? My second question is related to the first one. Do you use Air Conditioning carts on the ground to control cabin temperature when the APU isn't running? I have been attaching it to the aircraft along with the ground power unit. And finally, do you have to wait for the "Cabin Ready" signal before starting taxi? Thanks in advance.
  22. I think I have decided on SimBrief, thanks all of you for your input.
