I believe it is a clever move by JARDesign to claim the A340 for themselves. I don't believe anybody in the very near future would have come out with the A340, however it just makes sense to "connect the dots" from the A330 to the A340 and port over newer developments on the older product. I own both the A320 and the A330. The A320 has come a long way and at this point is absolutely flyable if you control its flaws. I haven't had any issues lately. The A330 is a different story. Flyable, but not as enjoyable as the A320. However, the way they have been supporting the A320 leaves me optimistic. Just my personal opinion.
