  1. Hi, Just wondering if you can suggest me the best available ground crew add on? Is GSX - Ground Crew the best ground crew add on so far? Is it compatible with FS2Crew? I downloaded the GSX demo version and noticed that the centre line on the taxiway becoming faint, unclear, or even invisible at EGNT. Is it normal? Will it go away if I buy the full version? N.B. I do not use any ground texture building add on, i.e., FTX. Thanks in advance... Ronnie
  2. Then I can only think of it as a bug or a problem with your NAVs. They may not be receiving proper information....try and update your NAV data...it might just work. Otherwise, disengage the LNAV try to manually head towards the correct course and reactivate the LNAV when your close. I know it's not a solution but avoiding BSR might help...
  3. Is your autopilot still on? Have you tried correcting the course manually?
  4. It's normal! Just copy your ILS approach to the scratch pad and then paste it on the discontinuity row - problem solved! Plenty of videos on youtube address this issue. Personally I keep the discontinuity for landing on EGNT as it allows me to manually control my approach vector etc. Good luck.
  5. Thank you so much! ^_^ Even in real life I have noticed flights usually fly over the coast and then make a left pattern to land on 25.
  6. I had problems with PMDG sounds until I downloaded Direct X from Microsoft's website. Not sure if it will work for you but you can give it a try.
  7. Thanks a lot Kevin! That makes it clear why the aircraft was turning at the last minute giving me no chance to get used to the gliding slope. I am pretty sure I chose the ILS course right but didn't set the headings right. Hopefully it will solve my lading problem this time. Will keep you posted. Best, Ronnie
  8. Hi Jeremy, Apparently there is no STAR for EGNT approaches. I am sure I selected ILS landing on the FMC. Sorry haven't updated NAV data, I don't know how to do it but I don't think it's an issue as I have checked the recent airport charts etc. Ronnie. No SIDS or STARS available for EGNT http://www.vatsim-uk.co.uk/EGNT/
  9. Hi, I am sorry if this question sounds a bit stupid but I am a rookie trying to learn my way round PMDG aircrafts. During my ILS approach at EGNT (Newcastle) 8 out of 10 times I am finding it very difficult to land as the aircraft makes a sharp right/left turn to align with the runway at the very last minute. I haven't really checked the distance but by very last minute I mean about 1 - 3 nm or so - Yes it's that close! I tried to land on both runways (07 and 25) but had the same problem every time. Also I had the same problem at EGCC (Manchester) runway 05L but I had no issue landing on runway 05R and 23R. I followed the FSX route planner.... So what am I doing wrong here? Any help would be much appreciated! Ronnie.
  10. Reducing joystick sensitivity seems to have solved the problem. Thanks guys!
  11. Cheers bud. I think you are right, for some reason my joystick is overly sensitive for the past few days I will try and calibrate and will let you know if it works. Thanks a lot Kjjj...so I am not the only one having this problem....I will give it a try but as wingleted suggested my joystick is overly sensitive for past few days and that could be the main reason for the failures. Cheers.
  12. Apologies if this topic has been discussed before. I tried to search it but didn't really find anything useful. During my climb between 5000ft - FL 200 LNAV was getting frequently disengaged for some reason. I noticed that every time it disengaged after a turbulence as the plane was shaking sidewise. I do not have any weather add on and I was only using standard fsx realtime weather. So is it normal for the LNAV to get disengaged after a turbulence? On a separate note, during another flight all on sudden my auto pilot stopped working even though I didn't sign up for any emergence or failure. I had to deploy the second autopilot to get the plane on course. Since then the primary autopilot didn't work throughout the flight...is there any reason? Did I do anything wrong by mistake? Thanks in advance for your help. Ronnie
  13. I think I am getting used to it ^_^ but the problem still remains. I can only see the trim value when I come out of full screen mode but as soon as I go back to full screen it disappears....any suggestion? Hi Dave, I tried your way but seems the problem is still there. I can only see the trim value when I come out of full screen mode but as soon as I go back to full screen it disappears....any suggestion? Thanks Justin. I am getting used to it ^_^ hopefully one day I will be able to just wing it...
  14. Cheers Dave. Hopefully it will work. I will try it when I get home.
  15. Apologies if this topic has been discussed earlier but I am a newby into the flight simulation world so I am a bit confused about how to handle the problems I am facing since I have started using Windows 7 64 bit. Everything was running fine until I upgraded my system to a quad core and installed Windows 7 64 bit. - First of all the cockpit sound wasn't working. So I read some discussion here and reinstalled NGX and Direct X. Fortunately it did work and the cockpit sounds were back. - But now I can't see any trim value displayed. As a newby it's really hard for me to assume the trim value just looking at the wheel or the dial. Any help to get the display back would be much appreciated as it's spoiling my simulation experience. Thanks in advance for your help! Ronnie.
