  1. I apologize in advance for tagging onto an older thread...maybe my question was answered on the first page of this thread... I've just gotten back into flying the DC-6 (after purchasing some new Orbx Alaska scenery!). I've finally figured out how to fly this great aircraft without the AFE, start-up to shutdown. For the life of me, on my ILS approaches, I cannot figure out how to get the glide slope capture...the localizer is working fine. I've tried with the Altitude Control both off and on, neither will capture the G/S signal (the plane continues on level flight after the intercept). I've searched the POH and this forum, this thread is the closest to what I'm observing on ILS approaches. I'm using the F1 GTN 650 in P3D v4.3 If I read/understood correctly, the G/S capture (failure/bug) is a known issue with the F1 GTN to be resolved in a future update...can this be verified/clarified? Thanks, Rob Meier
  2. I've been following this post with interest...has anyone else noticed that there already exists an "A" and "B" fuel configuration in the 6B air file? I've used the B configuration without issue. 3. Gaz, No worries with ProATCX flight planning...I usually copy the flight plan directly from either SimBrief (or Flightaware) into ProATCX during my flight planning...the ProATCX software will export flight plans to several popular 3rd party add-ons, including the AS Airbus. Rob
  4. Gaz, I've been using Pro-ATC-X for several years, for both Commercial and GA flights (with the "TAIL" ID modification). The last upgrade, a few months back, make this ATC software virtually trouble free. I don't use online (Vatsim), only Pro-ATC-X. No problems together with Ultimate Traffic Live. Highly recommended for a "non-voice" activated ATC simulation. Rob
  5. This thread is getting off track. Past experience shows that if it doesn't stay on point it will be shut down. I am interested in this aircraft and the current "technical issues" (real or perceived) related to the current software release. I'd hate to see this thread closed this early after release. For me, my simple view is what details/issues would keep a "real world" aircraft "grounded"? If the software release currently has those limitations, I likely won't buy it. The consumer always has the last choice on how to spend their money. Please, let's try to keep this thread on point and civilized.
  6. RESOLVED! Sorry for the wild goose chase!!! As I did some additional troubleshooting, I was seeing other Application Faults with different (non-GPS) aircraft. Ultimately, issue was tracked down to Process Lasso (something was corrupting my saved hardware profile) and I could see the CPU affinities were changing. I tried to save a new profile to no avail. I've un-installed Process Lasso and all is well in the world of P3D v4.2 again! Again...very sorry for the time you took to address my hardware issue. Best regards, Rob
  7. Thanks for your reply! This morning, I wanted to see if the fault occurred after engaging the autopilot...my previous flights that may have been the "trigger" as the problem does not appear at sim start-up, but soon after departure. This morning, the weather engine was off as I wanted to rule out Active Sky. Same fault pattern this morning: Event Viewer: - <Event xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/win/2004/08/events/event"> - <System> <Provider Name="Application Error" /> <EventID Qualifiers="0">1000</EventID> <Level>2</Level> <Task>100</Task> <Keywords>0x80000000000000</Keywords> <TimeCreated SystemTime="2018-03-01T14:09:49.034550300Z" /> <EventRecordID>5837</EventRecordID> <Channel>Application</Channel> <Computer>rem</Computer> <Security /> </System> - <EventData> <Data>G530SIM.exe</Data> <Data>0.0.0.0</Data> <Data>4bff0a69</Data> <Data>KRNLSIM.dll</Data> <Data>0.0.0.0</Data> <Data>4bff0a8e</Data> <Data>c0000005</Data> <Data>00037807</Data> <Data>920</Data> <Data>01d3b1659dc49c28</Data> <Data>C:\Program Files (x86)\Garmin\GNS Trainer\GNS\G530SIM.exe</Data> <Data>C:\Program Files (x86)\Garmin\GNS Trainer\GNS\KRNLSIM.dll</Data> <Data>71de136e-ea0b-4f41-81ae-873edf537a71</Data> <Data /> <Data /> </EventData> </Event> RXPGNS2.gau 18/03/01 13:59:54.777 08472 - ] # rxpGNS2.dll version 2.3.10.0 18/03/01 13:59:54.777 08472 INFO ] RXPGNS2_menu.dll 18/02/24 04:07:10.153 02740 - ] # rxpGNS2_menu.dll version 2.0.7.0 18/02/24 04:07:10.164 02740 INFO ] edit panel: G:\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4\SimObjects\Airplanes\Aerosoft_DHC6_300_WHEEL\panel\panel.cfg RXPGNSsim.dll 18/03/01 13:59:57.677 08472 - ] # rxpGnsSim64.dll version 2.3.10.0 18/03/01 13:59:57.676 08472 INFO ] 18/03/01 14:00:02.088 00740 INFO ] 18/03/01 14:00:12.338 05796 INFO ] 18/03/01 14:09:53.131 09128 INFO ]
  8. A new issue just started for me today...I can't think of any changes I've made to my sim; Trying to fly the AS Twin Otter with the G530 and the simulator hangs for long periods of time. During the hangs, the G530 will shut down and restart. I've only had the Aircraft about 5 days...it was working without issues. Event Viewer is indicating an application fault (G530sim.exe) with the fault module as krnlsim.dll I was using FSUIPC 5.122. I tried to update to 5.124 as well as revert back to 5.103...all with the same results. I've tried reloading RXP from the F1 Wrapper and that didn't make any difference either. Any thoughts on what I might try? Thanks in advance!
  9. I've been waiting for this re-release. There was a note on this forum earlier in the week that the MV 732 was available for P3D v4.x. When I looked at my Simmarket account, I did note a new V 4.171212 that does install into P3D v4.2. I am seeing a few "bugs" with this version in P3d v4 (eg, Packs switches not working properly, nose wheel steering not working, no wing lights, no gravel kit, etc), I'm assuming this was a premature upload given the date of the release (Dec 12/17) and the comments above??? If V 4.171212 is still a "Beta", with the elimination of the Sperry 177 and Universal FMS, I'm wondering if there will be a planned VC integration for the Flight1 GTN or at the very least a planned VC integration of the (Simufly) CIVA INS?
  10. I've made about 4-5 flights in this "new" bird...I'm very pleased with the "free" upgrade! Yes, the IAS does work! Definitely my preferred light business jet...the GTN 750 makes this aircraft a joy to fly!
  11. The modification looks great! I'm not sure how to contact Mr. Bert Pieke directly to obtain a copy of the modified panel config file...any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Rob
  12. I realize the above link (sendspace patch file) is an older posting...after downloading and running the exe I found it contained a Trojan virus...luckily, it was caught in time...messed up my fsx directory and several entries in my scenery.cfg file. I suspect this download file was infected after being posted by the OP, but, be careful with this file! In the absence of an official T2G website, the MMMX patch can be downloaded at the T2G Facebook site.
  13. Thanks for the additional thoughts on this subject gentlemen. I did delete/rebuild the fsuipc.ini file as suggested in the manual...no effect seen (sim continued to disengage the A/P). The last move I made was to make two changes in the Rex winds configuration manager...I lowered both the turbulence and shear on the slider bars from 3 to 1...so far, 1 for 1 satisfactory flights (no A/P failure)!
  14. Same result... So I tried another flight with Rex Essential and the A/P continues to repeatedly disengage. Running without Rex and I don't seem to have a problem. I deselected the "realistic A/P engagement" in the FMC and tried another flight with Rex...same result, the A/P continues to repeatedly disengage (even with the FMC select disengaged). For my system, there appears to be a conflict of some sort with PMDG 777 and Rex Essential w/overdrive. Anyone else seeing the same thing? (I'd hate to fly without this weather add-on.) Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
  15. Hello 777Simmer! Thank you for your suggestions! I'll try to go back and find that feature in the FMC to apply (unselect) the realistic AP engagement...I must have missed that. Last night, I disabled the FSUIPC wind gusts/turbulence etc and ran FSX without Rex Wx and the autopilot performed without issue for a 2700 nm flight. My issue appears to be either a conflict with FSUIPC or Rex Essential w/Overdrive. I haven't narrowed it down yet. I would like to keep this sim as realistic as possible...at $90 I hope to keep/utilize all the design features!!! I'd hate to think this bird won't fly in real weather! Again, thank you for your suggestion! Rob
  16. I'm not sure if this topic has already been posted...I tried to do a search but could not find any relevant information. Just purchased/installed the PMDG 777. So far, I haven't been able to enjoy a flight yet...the Autopilot keeps disengaging for no apparent reason. Prior to purchasing/installing the PMDG 777, I had the MS-FSX controllers disabled for all my aircrafts and used FSUIPC exclusively for yoke, pedal and throttle control (all CH products). I've read there may be issues with the PMDG T7 using FSUIPC. I've disabled my FSUIPC controls (programming) for the T7 and I've gone back to the MS FSX controllers for this aircraft. This did not help the problem. I do have REX WX engine running (with no sudden wind shifts I can tell) and the A/P still disengages randomly. I have intentionally left my "hands off" the yoke controller and the A/P still disengages. This problem is happening at a rate of 5-7 times over a ten minute period. I'm not sure what the problem is, but, it has made this aircraft "unflyable" without the autopilot. Any ideas? I haven't had problems with any other aircraft using my configuration including the "old" LevelD 767, Flight1 Mustang, Majestic Dash 8 Q400 and many others. This problem seems specific to this new PMDG. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!
