  1. Again, anyone willing to figure out VAS usage? You know, its so sexy these days to know the exact value of every add-on being thrown at our faces...
  2. Its pretty much a solution for everything in FSX, except the fact that the game is 100 years old.
  3. If its not to much to ask, can anyone figure out the differences in VAS usage when using default or high resolution textures? "Moderate" or "high" VAS usage doesn't say a lot to me. I will probably just be doing small flight between CPH and ESSA, ENGM or EFHK, but still, OOMs is a ######.
  4. Hi! Sorry, but I figured out the problem. I thought I had posted it here, so again - sorry. I think everyone should post in their own thread if they find a solution to a problem, and I'm no exception. It was the antivirus program NOD32 who caused all my problems. It didn't like EZdok and it certainly didn't like vPilot so it removed some files that it thought was viruses or something. Deleted NOD32 and reinstalled EZdok and vPilot. Now everything works as a charm!
  5. I´m gonna try this out later, but I recalled when I reinstalled Win7 and FSX a month ago I only added these tweaks to my .cfg . In this case, something may have messed it up afterwards, i.e some add ons etc. I don´t like to add a bunch of tweaks to my .cfg. My FSX performs absurdly good, its just the damn OOMs.
  6. Do you think REX4 textures that are added to FSX has any significant impact on VAS usage, Steve? I mean, I use these textures for everything, but all are 1024 or below. maybe I should try a sceneryconfig editor to deactivate sceneries that I dont use. Anyways, I deactivate them in the scenery library but it doesnt seem to help.
  7. Everything turned off since I mainly do my flying on vatsim. Oh, I almost forgot - aircraft shadows have also been turned off, but doesnt seem to impact VAS usage that much. I have recieved alot of help from one particular person who publishes alot of youtube videos flying in the same area as I do. We have almost identical setups, although he has twice the amount of memory as I have. But again FSX doesnt care about 8, 12 or 16GB of memory. Im using his identical settings that I posted above, but still, I seem to fall in the OOM pit -_-
  8. Hi everyone! I`ve been using the 2.4 version of the fixer now ever since it was released, but sadly, I`m not experiencing less OOMs than before. Yes, it fixes a ton of other problems that pleases me, but still on short flights with lowered settings - Crash. This is probably some of the most important settings to consider: - Cloud resolution - 1024 - Autogen density - normal - Water effects - low - Texture resolution - 7 cm - LOD radius - 4.5 The only tweaks I have is BP=0, FFTF=0.15 and of course HIGHMEMFIX=1. When I run FSX with these settings with FPS slider set to unlimited I get a mind-blowing performance, compared to having it locked to 30 FPS. So of course, the DX10 fixer is doing some magic there but still, you get my problem. The fixer is set up using the manual where I use 4x AA and 4x SGSS. Without the latter all gauges appear blurry. I only fly the NGX and mostly land on Aerosoft airports including Bergen X, Gardemoen X, Stavanger X, Arlanda X and Helsinki X. Mega airports like Heathrow X, together with FTX England, is a solid crash. Whats strange is the fact that I can make a 2h flight from Tromsø X to Gardemoen X with no crash, but today on a short flight from Kastrup Copenhagen to Gardemoen, FSX crashed when I parked at the gate. I`m starting to wonder if all the textures you add with REX4 consumes alot of VAS, since I don`t use any photoscenery for instance... Any input or tips/tricks would be appreciated
  9. Soulution for stutters is either BP=0 (if you have a good PC), maybe try the affinity mask tweak or just setting your FPS to unlimited. BP=0 cured all my stutters, and if you're using the DX 10 fixer, try setting your FPS to unlimited - the increase in performance is extraordinary. I've been flying with locked FPS 30 all this time with general lag and the occasional stuttering. Now, smooth as silk.
  10. WOW, that looked great. Did you experience any loss in FPS while jumping to three monitors? I'm currently using a GTX 760 which works excellently atm.
  11. Hi folks! I've seen some pretty nice youtube videos on people having a triple monitor setup. That said, I know plenty of simmers simply just use a big flat screen TV. I mean, the range of view is extraordinary with a triple monitor setup, but how do you compare it? I will probably go for one of these setups one day, but now I'm really insecure... For instance, I'm currently using this 24 inch monitor from BenQ but it has rather thick edges so If I buy two identical monitors and put them next to each other, the gap between each monitor may be rather big. https://www.komplett.no/benq-24-led-gl2460/769329
  12. It seems to me like its only one guy working on it. I mean, cmon, how hard can it be to just port the damn thing. Let the raging begin No seriously, I'm joking. But a little truth also.
  13. Awsome that its finally up. Maybe we can expect the NGX also soon?
  14. Old topic, but may I ask - what was the departure airport? I can't go from Aerosoft Gardemoen to this version of EGLL without getting OOM error. And this is also with ASN, FTX global and the NGX. In addition I have set my autogen to normal, aircraft casts no shadows, water effects mid. Rest is cranked up. Oh, and I'm also using the DX10 fixer, which some people praises because it lowers OOMs, but I have yet to experience it. Anyone else still having VAS issues?
  15. Yeah I agree the Night Environment package gave Tromsø a much better look, but the one delivered in the Tromsø X bundle was horrible.
  16. Can you explain what this DSR thing is all about, very short? Is it just higher resolution? How is that going to make a change?
  17. Ok, Im using the fixer with 4x AA and 4SGSS in nvidia inspector. The latter is necessary to remove jaggies, of course. In addition I'm using the tweaks BP=0 and AM=14. My GTX760 and 4,4 ghz i7 4770K can hold super stable FPS at any add-on airport with clear weather. However, it drops in really cloudy conditions. I have water effects on high because mid looks like a nintendo 64 game. Any tips for me? It seems like I need affinity mask to remove stutters, actually, but maybe I have the wrong value.
  18. I like to believe if I'm on a plane, and both the pilots are by some reasons knocked out, I would be able to at least program the FMC with an arrival STAR and runway, enter the course and ILS frequency on both COMs and carefully watch the speed at we automatically descent toward the glide path. Then, just before landing I would deactivate autopilot, then auto throttle and land it beautifully, with roaring applause from my fellow passengers. Well, at least I was their only hope..
  19. Weeeell, I have an over clocked (4,4 ghz) i7 4770K and a GTX 760. Without BP=0, FSX is relatively stuttery. I think affinity mask and buffer pools are the tweaks that allows you to get rid of stutters. It certainly cured my problems.
  20. Is the island itself supposed to be pitch black during the evening/night? Yes, I see some white lights from the houses, but overall its very dark. It seems that the only lively thing in this scenery is the airport itself. I live in Tromsø and the island give away a lot of light. I hope there's something with my settings, but the FTX 3D vector lights were far better imo.
