  1. Awesome, factoid. Thanks. Learned something new (daily visit to Avsim validated)
  2. Nice, was wondering if there was a split scimitar winglet thread yet this week. There it is! Oh and "first and last names on all posts" please.
  3. You're definitely not forced to run Windows Defender on Windows 10. http://www.windowscentral.com/how-permanently-disable-windows-defender-windows-10 http://www.ghacks.net/2015/10/25/how-to-disable-windows-defender-in-windows-10-permanently/ I've never had a building display/availability issue. What I'm referring to is the lack of Couatl even being available to restart it. It's as though the program isn't even installed. To me that's an add-on/sim conflict, not corruption. Through troubleshooting with FSDT I've configured a test environment to where only the sim and GSX is installed (including the stand-alone manager), so it's very possible that it's just a FSX:SE issue.
  4. My experience as well (on both fronts). There are certain times, using plain jane default FSX scenery that Couatl will just not be detected by the sim. Restarting the sim is the only fix. There's no corruption, that would imply that it would never work or rarely work, it works 80% of the time. FSX:SE also is automatically defaulted to run as an admin by Steam preferences but again it works 80% of the time, so that too would imply that if it was an admin rights issue that it would never work.
  5. All good then, following the expected procedures. VLOC for ILS and GPS for RNAV
  6. Martin, I primarily fly in and out of KBNA (with FSE) but I flew into KSTL twice and it worked once. This morning I flew into KCLT (only once) and it made the 90 degree left turn again. I also typically use APR but my understanding is that mode only handles VNAV functionality, not LNAV as well. Thanks!
  7. Has anyone noticed odd ILS LNAV issues? I typically use the PC-12 on FSEconomy and fly in and out of KBNA as my round-trip hub. Last night there was pretty poor visibility preventing what is almost always a visual approach. I did 6 roundtrip legs into KBNA via ILS 31. I'm using v2 with GTN 750 Default KBNA scenery 111.95 in NAV1 Autopilot set to NAV 316* on the course Switch from GPS NAV to HDG Set VLOC on the GTN 750 I'll set capture angle within 15 degrees and the HSI will reflect the course and GS. However instead of capturing the expected course the plane will make a near 90 degree left turn. It's always a left turn. After the first time it happened I then set 111.95 in the NAV2 just in case there was some funkiness there. I have a single GTN 750 set to COM1/NAV1. It did this 3 out of 6 approaches last night. So I know it works but I can't explain why it only works 50% of the time. I did not have these issues with V1. Anyone else notice odd ILS capture performance? I had tucked this in on another thread but it's probably gotten lost. Update: It's now about 50/50 on ILS captures. I did two landings at KSTL last night on 30L and one was fine the second it made a near 90 degree left turn on glide slope capture. Used the ILS frequency data (111.5) with 302* in the course. Note: I do not have Bert's v2 mods currently configured on this aircraft.
  8. I was indifferent, truthfully. What I didn't align with the justification that because someone has spent a lot of money and been simming a while, once in a while it's OK to torrent stuff to "try it out." Having worked in anti-piracy enforcement for 4+ years I could never wrap my ahead around that frequent justification. "It's ok, I still buy some stuff." The righteous indignation that followed was just the icing on the cupcake, that and the photo of a monitor.

  10. Thank you for your honesty and frank disclosure of your decision to buy a piece of software after you pirated it. There, I've validated your morality requirements. All set? I see you thread in their sub-forum is barely 10 hours old, they probably just haven't gotten to it yet. Standard turn around on most support tickets is 24-48 hours. As you're a savvy tech person then you probably have incremental backups on your computer, right? Why not roll back to the moment before you installed the software and then reinstall the legitimate software. Plus that would ensure any traces of the software is removed from your machine. Seems pretty "slam dunk" to me.
  11. Awesome, thanks. Clearly this plane is not a good candidate for a busy Vatsim fly-in. But that absolutely would explain why I've seen some pretty crazy approach angles in my travels and the various YouTube videos I've watched of simmers. We're all going waaaay too fast.
  12. Geez, is that it on this thing? I'm most certainly going in waaaaaay too fast. I normally approach at about 100kts with flaps 30° Explains a lot!
  13. Reach out to RealityXP and ask. Tell them you had originally acquired a copy of their product to test it, then decided to purchase it and now you need some help. Be curious how well that works out for you. Side question, just for general IT curiosity. If you're comfy in the registry how could you not take a screenshot of the issue versus taking a photo of your monitor?

  15. Sorry, that was a typo. It should be NAV1/COM1 & NAV2/COM2. Make sure the GTN 750 (via the config file) is set to NAV1/COM1.
  16. Steve - When I ran the included GTN 750 integration tool from Carenado it configured the single GTN to NAV2/COM2 and I had similar issues to what you're experiencing. Double check the config file and make sure it's set to NAV1/COM2 and the CDI is configured for GPS.
  17. I've found that Version 2 of the PC-12 is a bit better with the start-up torque. But yeah, pretty much just crack the condition lever to avoid the rolling start. I typically go to about 5% (if you have tool tips enable) and then I'll adjust to 30-40% for taxi and then the 100% when on the runway.
  18. I've spent about $1000 on various FSX related equipment (peripherals and add-ons) and I've yet to buy a single airport scenery program. I do have a very full hangar of planes I enjoy flying and I have spent a fair amount of money with ORBX and Rex but never on just an airport. Disclaimer - I did buy REX's Airport HD scenery add-on which included a free KSLC.
  19. Running Chase Plane? There was a recent version of it that caused the exact issue you were reporting and a newer version fixes it.
  20. Bert - Did you add the YD on AP engagement? I like it. Edit - Just went through the folders, looks like it! I like the Shift + 2 on the GTN 750 as well. Those were the only two obvious things I noticed on this evening's flight. No doubt there's more. The brakes feel a bit stronger too. Looks like IAS speed hold is disabled at TOC as well.
  21. Make a YouTube video of it and send it over to them. I had to do that for a Dornier 228 issue and the moment I made the video (and explained what I was doing, as well as showing all keyboard/screen inputs) they acknowledged that they would look into it.
  22. What weather scenarios cause it to not behave properly so I can reproduce and submit a ticket as well.
  23. Any chance of a screenshot of what you're seeing? Just hit my spot view keyboard shortcut and it looked normal. But I am running v2
