  1. This is the Dev Diary video DTG_Cryss linked on the DTG forum. This looks stunning!
  2. The airport for the PPL lessons at Prescott has some kind of PBR also.
  3. The impact on performance depends on how much area you are currently viewing. Here is a simple example. Zoom out, more rendering, FPS drops. Zoom in, less rendering, FPS increases. Which is why the cockpit views tend to sit around 30 FPS regardless due to all that stuff being PBR.
  4. Altitude hold works (in sim only). Middle click on the AP Selector knob. Been using it in over 14 flights, to this point.
  5. AP stuff.... To the left of the Magneto Selector know, is a Nav/Mode GPS switch. Middle clicking on this switches between GPS and NAV like the CDI button in the default planes. The AP selector knob is just above this. The default location is Nav. So... For GPS autopilot, don't touch the AP selector knob, middle click the switch (tool tip should read GPS), and press Z. Voila! Flying GPS guided autopilot. For Heading Hold, set the AP Selector knob to HDG - the center location on the knob, turn on the Heading Hold switch to the left of this knob. Press Z to activate/de-activate autopilot to fly the heading set via the Heading bug on your course direction indicator. This plane only has altitude hold mode (in the sim only) which is enabled/disabled by clicking the mouse wheel with the mouse over the AP Selector knob. For the Arrow, basically, everything that is controlled in the base planes (PA-18 excluded) revolves around using the AP selector knob and the switch beneath it, except for Heading Hold which adds one switch.
  6. <wherever you installed steam>\steamapps\common\FSW\DLC\630911\PA-28R Arrow III Manuals
  7. AccuFeel can be disabled manually if anyone cares to. There is a dll.xml file in the main FSW folder wherever you installed FSW. Change the "false" in that file to "true". It's the only true/false statement in the file that does not have the first letter capitalized if unsure which one to change.
  8. The other important thing which was mentioned in the chat section of the stream: The DTG team is focused on the SDK right now, which is what a ton of folks in the community want to see released. No mention on potential release date for the SDK, just that it's the focus for the team right now.
  9. then you didn't miss anything, because that's what update 13 is supposed to be. The PBR updates are supposed to improve cockpit visibility in lower light conditions, based on what was said. Other than that, it was trying to figure out which plane Blue Sky will actually add to FSW, because they said they are working on a plane for FSW, just wouldn't say which one, while saying look at their website - which has a P40 front and center.
  10. Looks like FSW is getting a P40 - www.blueskyfs.com
  11. No Jon Snow? I heard he had died, but then didn't....
  12. Jets can be flown in FSW by turning off AccuFeel. This is set in the dll.xml file in the main FSW directory. But this is basically turning off physics in order to fly a jet. Knowing at least one 3rd party is working on a large jet for FSW, how AccuFeel works will have to be updated by FSW, at some point. The statement in bold from the Early Access description should provide some indication how DTG feels about the future and what they want the user to be able to do, once the platform is stable. From in the Early Access description (bolded part by me):
  13. In case anyone is still unaware, there is a very detailed manual included with the PA-28R Arrow III. There is a nice tutorial at the back of the manual. Only one thing didn't work as described in the tutorial (the baggage door), but not real worried about that. The manual is located here: <wherever you installed steam>\steamapps\common\FSW\DLC\630911\PA-28R Arrow III Manuals
  14. No, the SDK is not officially released, but as proven by the Arrow III and comments from Just Flight and DTG, DTG is working with 3rd party developers to make a solid SDK - before it's officially released.
  15. I've successfully done the "Falling Leaf" in the Cub many times in FSW. Never had it not work.
  16. This is what worked for me.... Start FSW. When the login screen opens, choose to skip it, instead of logging in. Select not to show the dialog again. This will take you to the Home menu. Then, click on the Dovetail Live tab, and login. It's logged me in automatically - no username entry, no password entry other than the one time - ever since doing the above.
  17. Per the DTG devs during the last Multiplayer session, the reason the last updates have been delayed is they are working with Simul to get the lighting and TrueSky updates improved. Get the various types of base static weather working and simulating real world weather becomes much easier.
  18. that's close to what I built just throw in a 1070 and lesser CPU - i5-6500. When building it, I made sure the motherboard was LGA1151 so I can upgrade to a newer CPU. Whenever the i7-7700K drops below $300... bring on the upgrade. Current CPU cooler is already compatible with the i7.... so only have to change one part..... Had issues trying to run 32GB RAM, though. Haven't resolved that issue, yet.
  19. For now, AVSIM is not the "premier" site for FSW support. Found far more helpful things from the Dovetail forum, Steam, and that Discord server. For other sims, this place is great! For getting questions about FSW answered more quickly, this currently is not the best place. The only exception I've seen to this is some of the scenery things done, but those were all posted elsewhere as well at about the same time. I think the OP is asking the AVSIM community to be a little more open and assist elsewhere vice just relying on folks coming to AVSIM for help with things. Not saying "leave AVSIM" just be more open and consider helping elsewhere which could then draw others back to here.
  20. From that Youtube video - forgot which of the Grenada Islands
  21. Grenada does have a building on one runway, but not sure it that's FreeMeshX or PWS... Building wasn't there in default FSW. Have to mess around more...
  22. Have you checked the [TrafficManager] settings in the FSW.cfg [TrafficManager] AirlineDensity=50 GADensity=50 FreewayDensity=0 ShipsAndFerriesDensity=25 LeisureBoatsDensity=25 If those Density values are set to 0, you won't see AI things.
  23. Both flights are with Sunny Skies weather in Piper PA-18 Super Cub FSW Default Scenery Grenada flight FSW Grenada flight with FreeMeshX & PWS installed - Palm trees!!!. Both [TrafficManager] boat values in FSW.cfg set to 25
  24. For now, the scenery.cfg changes are very simple once one gets the location right, which they figured out already, until something better comes along. Videos coming shortly showing a Grenada flight with default scenery and a 2nd with PWS and FreeMeshX scenery, so you all can decide for yourselves. Thanks for the tip about the PWS scenery for the Caribbean. Anything free is better for me, right now.... :)
