  1. What time does the update land? Not that it really matters given that I'm in the beta, unless they have a last-minute update for us.
  2. I'm going to be a contrarian here. I think the plane looks awesome. I like it way more than the CJ4. And I looked at their performance, give or take a few percentage points here or there they are about the same (Phenom has better takeoff performance, range is pretty much the same, speed and top altitude the same, CJ4 has better landing performance). And have you guys flown the G3000 by WT? Sorry, but it is absolutely AWESOME in it's current form. This is one of the toughest RNAV approaches I've found; the WT G3000 flew it like a dream (after I manually programmed the VNAV, which to me is a blast to do).
  3. Is this going to be any good though? I find Carenado to be pretty hit and miss. LOVE the airplane though.
  4. I'm in the SU9 beta. Literally no performance difference than the current build. I have had one single CTD. No big deal. Weather and clouds look amazing.
  5. Should take the WT mod, and it looks awesome to me!
  6. G3000. This plane might be an all-time great. The WT G3000 is absolutely amazing, I fly the TBM all the time and you can really get some serious utility out of that airplane. To be able to do that with twin jet performance could be a world-beater.
  7. I’ve said this 1,000 times and I guess I’ll say it 1,001: people really have no clue how these betas work. It’s amazing reading the same comment over and over again. It doesn’t get any more true. Normally it’s from people who weren’t in the beta, though I don’t know that to be the case here. But honestly, your observation is just wrong. in my case, SU9 works just fine. I’ve noticed literally no performance difference. Winds are much more impactful to the flight experience, and I’ve had awesome weather experiences where it has been quite vanilla in the past.
  8. I remember when I thought CFIs were automatically good pilots. No commentary on your friends, but I've since learned this isn't the case.
  9. I would not recommend flying with those pilots. A properly planned flight in a twin flown by a competent pilot results in an airplane capable of climbing out on one engine should the need arise.
  10. Not for nothing, but I've got an idea: fly the airplane! I know, I know, it's a wild and crazy notion. Watch real pilots fly the Twotter and tell me how often the AP is engaged. I've got God-knows how many hours in the Islander in MSFS, never touched the AP. They're honestly redundant systems in short-haul piston aircraft. I don't get this obsession with auropilots in a flight simulator, I really don't. You guys want everything as realistic as humanly possible, then get in the plane and do something no human pilot does. 🤷‍♂️
  11. I fly the Aerosoft CRJ with absolutely no buttons or switches mapped, just the Alpha and Bravo control surfaces and levers. As @sd_flyer pointed out, pushing buttons and switches in a cockpit without looking at them is just not something a good pilot does.
  12. Buying it because you don't like dials is one hing, and I understand that. Re the holds, it doesn't fly course reversals. At all. It doesn't even depict them. I can hand-fly a hold no problem, no matter what the aircraft. But when you're on a heading of 280 and it activates the ILS 10, it's a little problematic not even having the published course reversal depicted. And I get it. You and I are talking about things that most people won't even know much less miss. But if you're going to ask the same price for this unit as the sim itself, it has to a bit better.
  13. Wow! Game changer, uses the Garmin Trainer. And half the price of the other one. Thank you!
  14. If you are looking for realistic performance and capabilities, this is the correct choice.
  15. I would disagree. As an actual 750 (and 650 for that matter) user in real life, the flight planning works for the most part, but it can't do holds, it therefor really doesn't follow approaches. You can't activate approaches the way they are activated in the real unit ("direct to" an IAF). I'm instrument-rated and use the 750 for IFR in real life, and the PMS unit is in no way analogous to an actual 750. Sure some of this is the fault of the sim. Beats the word not allowed out of spinning dials in the 530 for sure, and if you don't know the capabilities of the actual unit you'll be fine. If the price were half what it is my opinion would be different, bust asking $75 for that thing is a joke. Do not pay an extremely premium price for it thinking it's going to be like the real thing. It just isn't.
  16. I bet anyone $1,000 this was what happened. Happened to me as well; I thought it was the sim's fault, it was my fault.
  17. Yeah, this was a spectacular self-fail. I'll explain later. Has nothing to do with Addon Linker. Sorry fellas for the false alarm.
  18. Hello, So I was using addons linker with no problem, and with the most recent update to MSFS (1.21.18) it is no longer working. The weird part is, ONE of my planes works with the Linker - the Aerosoft CRJ. Yet nothing else does, which makes even less sense. But ignoring that one anomaly, checking the boxes for various things in the Linker does indeed put a link ot them into the Community folder, but when you load MSFS, the things are not loaded into the sim (EXCEPT, again, for the CRJ, which really baffles me). The other possible monkeywrench here is that I updated Addon Linker recently as well, though I can’t remember which I updated first, Linker or MSFS (it was around the same time). So it's creating the links, it works for ONE plane, and otherwise nada. Any ideas? Thanks!
  19. Didn't last, by the way. Back to CTDs.
  20. I agree, I try and do the same. I'll check out ELGATO!
  21. Yeah, I'd be happy if I reinstall it and get no CTDs. But the main thing is no CTDs. What's weird is I wasn't having them, didn't change anything, and then they started happening. Just one after another. It's bizarre. And what causes crashes for some people is no problem for others and vice versa. I like to think it was this regedit that did the trick.
  22. It's a really easy way to record flights. Other than that I have no need for it. I've been trying to find a simple and free recording tool to replace it, if you have a suggestion I'd appreciate it. With GeForce Exp you just hit Ctrl+R and it records the flights. I use it for recording flights for my YouTube channel.
