  1. Same. I'm doing it as well, same PC.
  2. Hmmm, zipped right through the purchase, now the download page won't come up... Got through... Now got it started... 1 hour, 32 minutes to go. Full download is 22.7 GB, fellas.
  3. Looks like the web traffic is speaking on this one...
  4. For everyone waiting around for MSFS, may I remind you how awesome MS Flight was a few years ago!!! 😄
  5. To me if you want to talk about a laughable flight simulator, it’s XP. It looks horrid.
  6. Meaning I will keep my 4.5 setup going for now. I'll have two versions on my PC: 4.5 and v5.
  7. Absolutely none of my addons are compatible, at least not confirmed. And I am buying this and running it stock, just to see. I'll run it in parallel with 4.5 until everything gets to where I want it. If you're a flight-simmer and you're not excited about this, there's something wrong with you. Seriously.
  8. I'd check your screen or your PC, good sir. You've got to be kidding me. This looks amazing.
  9. Couldn’t agree more. “I’m not going to enjoy this Aston Martin, because a new Ferrari is coming out maybe 6 months from now” said nobody, ever.
  10. I haven’t really looked into the Waveworks a lot. What do you know about it? The way I figure it, even if all my addons don’t work right away, the upgrade is just too tasty to pass up. Even considering how extremely happy I am with what I already have: https://youtu.be/006YwvezVOg
  11. I'm definitely a buyer at some point. I'd love to buy it first thing tomorrow, but I use... Ah, you know even as I'm typing this I'm changing my mind. If not tomorrow then very soon. I fly around the Caribbean a lot, so I'm curious about FlyTampa SXM and UTX Tropical, along with a couple Flight1 and Alabeo aircraft. And REX stuff... I mean I could wait until I can confirm everything, or just give it a go.
  12. Ah, that's probably a dealbreaker then.
  13. If you blow through an altitude by 300 feet flying IFR in real life, you're going to hear about it, believe me. "Aviate, navigate, communicate," in that order. Radio calls have the lowest priority. First priority is making sure you don't hit anything, which you can do by blowing through altitudes.
  14. You aren't under ATC control when getting flight following. They just issue you traffic advisories. You're also probably the only 737 on earth that's VFR.
  15. Interesting! What is the particular reason for that, do you know?
  16. I'm curious: as a real world pilot, what's the simming interest in STARs? Most real world pilots I know don't care for them. Sim pilots seem to love them. Maybe because gas is cheaper online? 😉
  17. VoxATC might be the winner! Just checked it out and me likey! Of course now we're going to have to see about v5, because I'm upgrading come Tuesday. So that might put all this on hold for a few days.
  18. Even if you do a straight line IFR flight, if you're off by one degree for 30 miles, rather than giving you 5 degrees right or left for a period of, say, 10-15 minutes, they vector you left or right 30 degrees for 30 seconds to get you "back on course". Which is absurd. It often happens over and over again.
  19. What Cherokee you using for that? I'm a real world Cherokee owner and the a2a Cherokee is amazing.
  20. How is it for GA IFR? I don't really care about VFR, the native ATC doesn't bother me for that. But for IFR it's useless. So basically I'm just looking for IFR in an Arrow and light twins.
  21. I'm a pilot, so phraseology isn't a problem. I suppose it will depend on what works with v5 come Tuesday. I have P2ATC but I never really used it. Maybe I should give it another go. It just seemed very cumbersome.
  22. What would you recommend? Most of the ATC programs I've seen are for heavy metal. I fly small GA aircraft. Suggestions very much welcome!
  23. I am assuming the answer is no, but does anyone know if there have been any substantial upgrades to ATC and vectoring in v5? For example, getting the 30 degree turn every 20 minutes on an IFR flight plan because you've been off heading by a few degrees. Hey always give you the "turn 30 degrees" for a few minutes and then turn you back on course. Anyone know about ATC in v5?
  24. I feel exactly the same way, even though I've had 4 for a few years now. Another $60 isn't going to kill me, and the improvements look significant.
