  1. Hello dear mods, thank you very much for your admirable work. And thank you for moving the PMDG-subforum to the forumsgroup "User-to-User Supports Forums". But now it's very hard to find the Photo Scenery Support Forum between all these commercial and User-to-User companies forums. I think the Photo Scenery Forum is much more important than the PMDG-subforum and therefor should stand on top of this group. I hope everybody would agree with me. Thanks again Peter (Edit: you might delete this posting if necessary πŸ™‚ )
  2. Astonishing pictures in FS9! Looks very real and impressive! Very well done! πŸ‘ Peter
  3. @kevinh and everybody: I think it's better to discuss this in a seperate thread. Let me give the following answers. > PMDG only added the additional rule of requiring full real names. Partly to help track illegal users ... I'm not a criminal. Only because there are some criminals I don't want to be treated as a criminal or a potential criminal. For the same reason I don't want to have spy-software on my computer like Lefteris Kalamares tried to establish as ethical. And I'm not hiding behind a nickname. I just keep my right to decide for myself who may know my name and who not. If you are sitting in the subway would you wear a big board with your name? Your full real name? What would the other people think about you? And what would you think about persons or companies who want to force you to wear a nameplate in the subway? > Hiding behind a nickname online allows some people to behave badly in a way they would never do face to face. Yeah - Mr. Randazzo thinks, that there would be more respect if everybody writes with full real names. But if Mr. Randazzo does not respect my right to privacy and is treating me like a potential criminal, why should I respect him? I can understand everybody who thinks like this. Nice weekend to everybody Peter
  4. That's a very good idea! So let us turn this thread into a topic about open doors and right of privacy.
  5. I only picked up the humor of PMDG about PBR (pabst blue ribbon) and gave a link to my thread in the screenshot forum. It was this one. And this posting was deleted. So to be allowed to smile about the humor of PMDG I have to proof first that I'm a "genuine product owner"? Or did PMDG have lost their humor?
  6. @DavidP Sorry, I'm in best conditions, I feel fine and I've been very happy until a few moments ago. And I will be very happy in a few moments again. I don't want to discuss in this Roses War, I only wanted to give a sign of my great amazement (and a little amusement).
  7. O.K., sorry for that . . . πŸ˜‰ Since PMDG moderators have deleted each posting without real first and last name I would say that _they_ (PMDG) have dropped traffic on this forum significantly. Sounds more logical, agree?
  8. What? Being guest for 20 years, leaving the house on own wish, and now complaining that he has to leave the keys and can't make is own rules in this house anymore? If I were the owners of this house I would say: go with God's blessing (but go!) Sorry if I've missunderstood something. Peter
  9. Location: Oahu, Hawaii (in the surroundings of Honolulu) Flightsim: FSX (SP1 + SP2) Aircraft: Bell 47G https://flysimware.com/website/Bell 47 FSX.html Scenery: MegaSceneryEarth Shaders: no Photoshopping / Image editing: no Good luck to everyone!
  10. I would like to have the FS4, FS5 and FS6 running on a Win10-computer. And have some addons like Hawaii, Carribean, Japan, Greece . .. You remember? Do you remember flying through the kitchen? Was boring with the cessna, but would be fun with a PC-21 or Space Shuttle 😍
  11. That's fine! There are so much people wearing weapons . . .
  12. Understand - did hurt you what I said? πŸ˜‰ Why? πŸ˜‰
  13. So do I - but there are still a lot of other reasons for not to use P3D πŸ˜‰
  14. 😁 πŸ‘ πŸ™‚ I didn't want to blame the russians or the chinese people or any other nation, Donald D. has problems with. And yes, I believe in UFOs. Every Unidentified Flying Object is an UFO. So there are a lot of proofs, that UFOs exist. But it's logic, that UFOs can't come from other galaxies. So if an UFO has crashed, it's probably possible to be identified - so it's no UFO anymore πŸ˜‰ Edit: but I understood what you meant πŸ™‚πŸ‘
  15. That's a very interesting thought. So the enemies of United States Γ€hhhh let me say the Klingons *) can make addons with _their_ MIG- [censored] UFO-fighters and train best against the "defensive" weapons from LM. But the US-pilots don't have addons from the Klingons' fighters to train against them... *) could also be the Europeans or the South-Americans, as I remembered some statements from Donald D.
  16. Jim, thank you for making this clear! I accede BF Bullpup: reasons for removing posts should be announced in a top-pinned post. Peter
  17. Do you remember the number of up- and downvotes when M.K. announced another delay? He had got 4 or 5 downvotes and up to 38 upvotes as I remember in one case. Can somebody confirm this? I think the downvotes are real (and it would not be a good idea to delete them), but a lot of updates for the information that again there is another delay? It's ridiculous! So much people to be happy that there is again another delay? Every child would wonder about that. Even if you think that the people are thankful for the information - it does not stand in relation to the few upvotes the developers have got when showing some nice pictures and introduced their hard work. Edit: I'm not 100% sure if these 38 upvotes were given on delay announcement or other bad news. But I quite often wondered why M.K. had got so much upvotes for bad news or contradictory statements. Sorry for off-topic, but this information might help to see the question about release date in the right light. How trustworthy are informations, if they are given "as true, open and honest as possible"?
  18. Hi everybody, Part 1 was this one: https://www.avsim.com/forums/topic/544717-p3ders-understand-this-please/ But it seemed it was too hard to understand that it's better for every party of the community to help simmers stay happily with FSX instead of chasing them away by penetratingly trying to missionize them to P3D. First of all it's better for the vendors, publishers and developers. But it seems that some commercial members can't understand because they do not want to understand. And now I was censored and got this hateful comment: So it's not possible to clarify essentials for the community? That's bad, because it's mainly a problem of the commercial members, not mine. Because so many people were unable to understand what I meant, let me add some facts and thoughts: 1.) Over years this boring and annoying massive missionizing: change to P3D, it's so much better. But now you can read this: https://www.avsim.com/forums/topic/543447-orbx-textures-work-well-other-addons-textures-do-not/?do=findComment&comment=3910074 And it seems that these problems are not solved in P3Dv4.4., as you can read in the Orbx-forums (when comparing GB True Earth P3D versus XP11). Why there was nobody so honest, when telling FSX-Users: "with P3Dv4 you can reduce your OOM-risc and therefor use more VAS-hungry addons" to add fairly "but pay ATTENTION, your photoreal landscape textures will get unsharp!" Why? Looks like that they don't want to honestly help FSX-users but to sell more VAS-hungry addons? Think about it and answer yourself - I don't feel comfortable how obvious it seems to me. 2.) I try to understand the P3D-users: I think that many of the "Missionaries" compare the P3D they use now on their actual hardware with the FSX on their former hardware ten years ago. But to be fair you must compare P3D with actual FSX (SP1+SP2, Acc Pack, Steam-Edition) on actual hardware. Actual FSX (SP2 and further) is now running smooth, performant and reliable on normal nowadays hardware. And there are several solutions how to reduce VAS consumption (SceneryConfigEditor, SimStarter), how to observe the VAS-consumption and a lot of other solutions to this problem so you can arrange with it. 3.) I have the impression that the community is dying more and more. The simmers or let me say customers partizipate less and less in the forums and the social media managers and "influencers" are trying to dominate more and more, pushing the interests of the customers on their products to make more money. This need not to be bad, but it's getting worse if it's to much. In my opinion it's better to listen first, what the customer's want and after that fullfill their wishes instead of first developing and after that advertising and pushing in the forums. To come back to my first posting in this thread: where are the pictures from the customers' flights from A to B? You see a lot of pictures with Airport A, some pictures with aircraft in the sky with clouds and fog but without any landscapes to be seen and then a lot of pictures from airport B. So I ask myself: did this person really made a virtual flight from A to B? In my eyes these are advertising flights, not customer's flights. If the "missionaries" want to make good advertising they should make more "customer's flights" and less "advertising flights", if you understand what I mean. Instead of chasing customers away by penetratingly telling them that FSX is "garbage". Thank you "my friend" @DaveCT2003 for this word. As a foreign speaker it's good to get some help May I very friendly ask every P3D-missionary in this thread again to give me a link to your screenshots? I'm very interested to see them. Still happily awaiting . . . Peter
  19. Hello again, everybody calmed down in the meantime? I don't want to let this stand uncommented: If somebody thinks he/she knows better, he/she should give informations and facts, so everybody can learn. So if some people have lost their humour about what I've written, we can make it academical. But please keep your humour πŸ˜‰ To give peace to your hearts, I will rename my pretty brilliant reflections (PBR) in this posting into pretty bright/brilliant reflections (PBBR) and explain the differences. 1) PBBR as I use it: pretty bright/brilliant reflections. Nearly perfect for a good looking of metal surfaces and varnished materials. It is an old hat in flightsimming and therefor available in FSX and FS9. Surely even in earlier versions - maybe somebody can give further informations when it came up first. Here is an example how perfectly it looks in FS9: With the so-called alpha-channel the developers can vary the brightness of the reflections in a wide range. No decrease of performance, no impact on frames, because you regularely have it in your flightsim since decades. I think it is looking very well and in my opinion it's best suitable for aircraft, especially airliners, where you seldom have metal surfaces reflecting like polished mirrors, due to dust, dirt and weathering. 2) PBR as PMDG recently used it: Pabst Blue Ribbon. It's a beer brand. Not suitable with FSX. Only makes the sharp photoreal textures in FSX more and more unsharp, if you drink to much. Maybe you might need it to drink your P3D beautiful, I don't know πŸ˜‰ Hey calm down, this was a joke. Initially used by PMDG, so please don't blame me for this! 3) PBR as the rest of the world understands it: Physically Based Rendering. Old hat in Computer Aided Design (CAD). You just select the material (i.e. steel, brass, aluminium, chrome, gold, glass, gloss varnish, matt varnish and so on) and the surface quality / surface finish (i.e. roughness, grinding marks) and the computer creates perfect reflections according to the atomic structure of the material, which influences the angle, intensity and colour of light reflections. This is the reason why it's called Physically Based Rendering. But if you are developer in P3D you have to work with several channels (similar to the alpha channel used in FSX, if I'm allowed to say it like this for a better understanding), balancing several variables by tweaking and experimenting a lot, instead of simply clicking on a material button. So _I_ would not call it PBR what LM has created with P3Dv4.4. I see it more like PBBR (see above), only with more channels. You might call it Busy Experimentally Adjusted Reflections (BEAR). Not to be mistaken with BEER. Neither with Pabst Blue Ribbon or any other beer brand πŸ˜‰ I hope you took it with a sense of humor, but you can take it serious, as well. To give peace to your hearts again: I think (I hope) that PMDG sees it like me, that you can't call PBR in P3D "physically based" and this could have been the reason why the idea with Pabst Blue Ribbon came up. But I might be wrong in this case. Enjoy your sunday! Peter
  20. @HaraldG gern geschehen! . . So: your screenshots well appreciated πŸ™‚ These oldies and these goodies make appetite to fly and to buy, whereas all the busses again and again in other forums are just boring 😞 @claudiofalcao Thank you! I cannot stand against your fantastic FS9-screenshots to hail the Queen of the skies. Very well done! @threegreen maybe soonTM ?
