PSA: @Damian Clark, Just purchased your ASFS two hours ago - would not connect, Steam MSFS with AutoFPS utility, wasted 2 hours - but got it working by going to AppData/Roaming/HiFi/AS-FS/AddonFolder & then running 'ActiveSkyUtils', this really should have been sorted out beforehand, IMO, AS FS now works!

Thanks @Reset XPDR! just updated AutoFPS on my 12900KS/3090 computer, the latest installer was very easy to update the app & in very quick time, I'm not adjusting any .cfg file - just settings via standard MSFS... AutoFPS is perfect for flatscreen flying & worked well with VR Quest Pro with ASW motion smoothing... I hope Microsobo is taking notice... Cheers

Are you aware this is how FSUIPC was created many years ago? It takes a very clever person to disassemble a executable and analyse the contents. The original UIPC was created by Adam Zofran and then Pete Dowson developed his version from the work Adam had done. He asked Microsoft for help but none was forthcoming. He battled on because with every new version variables were broken so work had to start again. Eventually after many years the Aces team decided to cooperate and Pete's life became a lot easier. Without that effort flight sim 25+ years ago wouldn't have become what it is today. The development work passed to Pete's son John. These are very clever people whom we should all be very grateful to whatever sim you fly. This is a greatly appreciated post, Ray! Wonderful history & personally I’m very much hoping for the same outcome for @Reset XPDR’s project & efforts so far, It is an effective game changer for MSFS performance & utility, Far too important to be officially ‘ignored’ by Microsobo… It is a great pleasure to financially support all the clever developers who greatly enhance this hobby of ours… 🙂

Let’s be clear here, this is a memory ‘hack’, that is officially frowned upon & rejected by Microsobo, & completely is outside of Terms of Service… just checking for authenticity…

seriously, 45 Avsim pages far too many ‘releases’, I’m super cautious of software relying on ‘hacks’ (use at own risk with caution)… personally, will wait for MSFS 2024 & meanwhile will adjust settings to suit conditions…

there are quite a few quality control issues that have been fairly widely reported… you need to judge for yourself…

Dumb idea, frankly, to cripple Windows Updates - the OS we actually use, Even though HP has dumped the G2 (EOL) - it remains to be seen what HP Reverb G2 support is forthcoming…

& a big issue is to recommend NOT to install Windows Updates, Very silly!

You’ve made a very big upgrade & be mindful of the placebo effect, the 4090 is far more snappy in performance than a 3080 - direct GPU grunt to screen pixels, & enjoy!

I’m quite sure that Meta will vastly improve passthrough in their next generation of HMDs, even the Apple Vision Pro at US$3500 has nowhere near ‘Retina display’ passthrough, & it’s good that Meta improved passthrough performance on the Q3, Meta is working hard in the VR/AR/Mixed Reality space & already has huge user base of millions of users, with proven HMDs & vast software resources…

seriously, who cares about passthrough? it is merely there for convenience…

He has passion for VR to be sure - almost too much, as an influencer - he has many dissatisfied followers - just think of some Aero & Pimax Crystal users, Artur from Somnium VR1 just called Zuckerberg nuts, I had to remind Artur that Zuck’s Quests actually have the lion’s share of the total VR HMD market, (there is no released VR1 HMD yet - only time will tell - is it vaporware?) & to be banned by VRFSG for simply pointing out that Quests are overwhelming dominating the VR market is ridiculous…

& the much understood Quest Pro has full DCI-P3 colour gamut, plus the advantage of superior QLED screens with highest quality edge-to-edge pancake lenses, the so called ‘compression’ complaint is largely overstated - the Pro is a huge advance over the direct connected Rift S, for example, plus, the wireless mode works extremely well with the Quest Pro with very high quality WiFi 6 connection & ISP, plus, there is a plethora of standalone apps - even Xbox content now 🙂

Fast CPU & GPU here with 64GB RAM & 24GB VRAM with 1300W PSU (very important)…

Judging by the FSL Concorde comments here - best to save money until a fully working & quality Concorde is actually made by FSL for MSFS (2024 version)…

Are you claiming that PSXT with RealTraffic provides accurate worldwide traffic? Because, when testing it out, personally found very poor AI traffic in places like China, Russia & South America - just to name some important regions… & yes, also had very ‘twitchy’ aircraft behaviours… & gave this AI combo a few months to prove itself with paid subscription… Yes, it works extremely well in places like LEBL Barcelona, for instance…

A full reinstall of the Oculus desktop app solves many of the problems you may be experiencing, Quality WiFi 6 router definitely helps, Quest Pro works great with AirLink here, I have Virtual Desktop software - but absolutely no need to try it again (bit clunky previously)…

PSXT/RealTraffic has very poor coverage in places like China…

& btw, Quest Pro ‘streams’ MSFS VR really well - just using AirLink, been doing it for a year now, a good WiFi 6 router using dedicated 5GHz band does the trick 🙂

You obviously were unable to tune your Quest 3 for your system, Quest Pro ‘with system-on-chip’ works brilliantly with all the flight sims here…

You must have a very special G2 with edge-to-edge clarity - very unique…
