  1. Interesting @Chock. I love your location under your picture Alan! Cheers.
  2. Luckily the centre of it was out in the country-side and quite deep. No one hurt, and virtually no damage - part of the top of one old 2-storey brick building came down but they reckon it may have been a dodgy wall to start with. Cheers.
  3. Some say France, some say Germany, for basic beginnings, but Sikorsky for real practical start to helicopters. If you want to add the word practical and/or the phrase in the USA, to my title, ok with me! Cheers.
  4. Visit KBDR Sikorsky Memorial Airport and learn about the birthplace of helicopters and the mighty WW2 Vought F4U Corsair, and enjoy a tour of New York. Cheers.
  5. Sounds about right to me from someone who is at the frontline. Cheers.
  6. Hey @cavaricooper, although I disagree with you on one point (ie I think World Updates should continue because many of us like them and the developers have said they will continue because they are different teams and there are long lead times etc) I really liked your post and I understand. I particularly liked your last para. which applies to me too! Cheers.
  7. Hey, @swiesma, it’s OK now, all over. Neither the Moderator or I saw the irony, but as the Moderator also said, no harm done. Friends still. Cheers.
  8. So I (as a former electrical/electronic engineer, knowledgable in several programming languages, current part-time programmer, real-life pilot, life-long simmer etc) am in good company then. I would not be so presumptuous or rude as to say you have no clue or to direct you to stop or start anything. While enjoying the Sim, warts and all, and at the same time wanting the developers to fix bugs more quickly and create fewer new bugs, I think World Updates should continue and I think the developers should be shown respect and encouraged. Cheers.
  9. Papua New Guinea, Kodiak Is in Alaska, Idaho, New Zealand - see Bush/Mt/Water strips here: https://youtube.com/channel/UCqCzobOlQLeGycCFnavVrPg Cheers
  10. Am I the only one enjoying MSFS more and more every day, ever since Day 1, despite the many problems? On the MSFS forum the Moderators have stated clearly that World Updates (eye candy) and Sim Updates (software fixes) are done by totally different teams, and that World Updates can have lead times of many months. I am still in touch with XP and never a day goes past on the XP Forum without some people having problems. So I still like the World Updates, but at the same time I would like them to create fewer problems, and I wish the Sim Updates would reduce the Bug List much more quickly. I still believe that the developers deserve respect and encouragement for trying to do their best on what seems to be a very complex beast. Cheers.
  11. Thanks guys. I am so annoyed with myself that when I was last in the UK with my wife a few years ago (am from Melbourne, Australia) we were so close to Shoreham but did not visit as I did not know about it then. Perhaps I was lucky because she was probably sick of aviation and WW2 after all the Battle of Britain etc museums I dragged her to - you have so many and I love them all! Cheers.
  12. I agree but add that often in life it is not what you say, but how you say it, that is the more important. Cheers.
  13. Definitely YES from me, been on every single day since the start, warts and all. Excited fir the future. Cheers.
  14. Shoreham is one of the oldest airports in the UK and the world. It goes back to before WW1 and has a proud history in both wars. It has some great heritage features. Cheers.
  15. I am loving MSFS, warts and all, and am excited for the future. I feel sorry for those having serious problems - seems to be quite a few. But I do not agree with those of them who are voting on the MSFS Forum for “Stop the World Updates and Fix the Sim First”, so I started a contrary vote there “Please Continue with World Updates while Trying to Fix Bugs More Quickly”. Cheers.
  16. Good question. Was thinking about getting this App. Wonder if it provides basic autopilot for the Spit and the Corsair? Cheers.
  17. New member here, but long-time XPer and now MSFSer and long-time on XP and MSFS Forums. Also, am recreational pilot. I must say this Forum seems to be alot more positive to MSFS than the actual MSFS Forum! I have enjoyed MSFS more and more every day since Day 1 Alpha testing. Sure I have had some bugs but nothing compared to what I read about from others who have so many CTDs etc and in many cases cannot even get into MSFS - I have no idea what is going on there but I sincerely hope the developers can improve things more quickly. Anyway, I am addicted to MSFS now, excited about its future, and have not been back to XP for quite a while. Cheers.
  18. New YouTube channel from March 2021 provides one new video per week on airfields in MSFS with history, geography, maps, pictures and video. Current streams/playlists are WW2, “Golden Oldies”, and Bush/Mt/Water airstrips - more streams/playlists to come. Tell me if you would like a particular airstrip covered. Cheers. https://youtube.com/channel/UCqCzobOlQLeGycCFnavVrPg
