Classic propliners fans who are not already aware of this, might be interested to hear that the amazing C-47/DC-3 version 3 freeware from Manfred Jahn / Jan Visser and team has just been upgraded. As this product was already excellent (way ahead of a lot payware aircraft that I could name!), it is difficult to believe that it could be further improved, but it has been, with fantastic textures and some remodelling of the VC, new cockpit night lighting, interactive checklists, even more finely tuned flight dynamics and quite a few other additions and modifications. The overall result is one of the most realistic and immersive aircraft simulations available, either freeware or payware. Even if you are not a propliner enthusiast, you should try 'sitting' in the virtual cockpit of this aircraft (nothing to lose as its free!), start up those engines and go flying to the tune of an amazing sound package - you might even be converted to propliner flying! This aircraft is available as a beta download at Sim-Outhouse and there are also quite a few repaints both civil and military available for it online. The development team deserve the congratulations and gratitude of the flightsim community for the dedication and generosity they have demonstrated by producing such amazing freeware. Many thanks from one very happy simmer! Bill

Looking for the file linked in the old topic: FS2002 Release Date for the Water Baby (XC_alpha.zip) - the link is dead, I can't find it on the MAAM website, here, at other online flightsim file archives, nor via Google, and the Wayback Machine doesn't have it either. Alternatively, does anyone have a replacement FS2002 flight model for the XC-47 that's better than the above, perhaps modded from one of the MAAM C-47A planes to downgrade performance appropriately for the float version? Or, did MAAM ever actually release a FS2002 version of the XC-47C (and I missed it)?

Anyone interested in doing an Airborne Support repaint of the excellent new Basler BT-67 DC-3 conversion? Airborne Support is based in Southern Louisiana and has been instrumental in fighting oil spills. My family's from that area and aviation is a big part of life down there. Here's a couple of links for info: http://www.baslerturbo.com/news.aspx http://www.airbornes...com/basler.html Thanks in advance for your interest.
