I found a pdf of the manual for Dovetails Flight School and was reading through it. I never bought Flight School but am curious what Flight Sim World might have to offer. In noticed that Flight School retained the old, clunky FSX camera system. In comparison, X-plane's camera system is a wonder to behold. I haven't seen any comment on this (maybe I've missed it), but I would urge Dovetail to upgrade their camera system to XP's standards, It is so much better than what FSX came with. (I've never used prepar3d, but would be horrified if the same old system is still in use there too.)

Hello fellow virtual/real aviators! I am slowwwly saving up enough money to at least start my private pilot license. I have had very little experience with flight schools, so for those who have had some experience in this regard, I wanted to ask you if there are particular points I should watch out for when selecting a flight school. Do all flight schools rank the same in credibility, safety, effectiveness, cost, etc.? Any way I can confirm the school with FAA to make sure it's "legit"? (Am I being paranoid?!) I am in Southern California, and I went up in a discovery flight/1 hr flight instruction at a local flight school in Van Nuys Airport. I was very pleased with the staff and their procedures, and I can actually count this 1 hr flight time in my log book (which I still have to purchase). I wanted to call them up and get started on at least another flight instruction, I have checked the school's reviews on Google and they have rated pretty good, even though they only have a few reviews. Anything in particular to watch out for? Also, a somewhat related question, once I have logged a few flight hrs, can those hours be transferred to a different flight school? My understanding is that those hours are good for life? Thank you all, any help is sincerely appreciated.

Has anyone here been able to keep a consistent 60+FPS while flying over London with maxed out settings? I've noticed that Flight School still uses CPU Core #1 to render buildings and traffic, so I don't think this would be possible unless you have a ridiculous clock speed. I only get around 30FPS with my i5-3570K 4.5GHz.

Now that I have spent a few hours progressing through the LAPL, here is a list of features that I would like to see concidered for Flight School to make the learning experience better. I have avoided making suggestions regarding scenery as I don't see this as a core issue. - Radio Tuning, allow fast tuning by MHz units as well as just the existing KHz units - GPS built into VC panel in Arrow - heading bug needs to display degrees so it can be set accurately. - joystick button configuration in settings. - quick guide to keyboard commands and instructions like where is the flap lever. If this school is targeted to new comers, I'm sure these are the type of things they will need to know. Or at least be able to ask the instructor. Maybe when the instructor says "flaps" and nothing happens he can point to the handle or say "or press F7" What do I think of the Product. I'm loving it, for a first release I say well done Dovetail. Moving through the training levels and the user interface is fun. I thank you.
