Forgive me if this seems like a bit of a stupid question. I've searched the internet and nowhere seems to be giving me a straight answer! Basically, I have 2 hard drives, 500GB and a 160GB. The 500gb is 7200rpm 6gb/s. The 160 is 5400rpm 3gb/s. My windows 7 64bit is installed on the 500. I want to install fsx on the smaller hard drive so that it doesn't interfere with any of the other files, but in order to do this, do I need to have windows installed on it? At the moment the smaller hard drive has no OS, so I'm wondering if FSX will still run. If not, can I just create a partition from the larger hard drive and use that? Thanks

Ive installed FSX on a seperate drive (128GB SSD) called the F drive. Opposed to the normal C drive in hopes of making the sim run faster. However, i cant find the cfg. I know under normal circumstances, it would be under appdata, etc. However, when i installed FSX on the F drive, there was nothing currently on that drive, not one folder. I created a folder called Microsoft Flight Simulator X and thats what the game was installed into. Where would i go about finding the .cfg? Would i have to add a new one? The game runs fine, so im sure there has to be one somewhere on that drive. Thanks- Matt

Hi everybody, i have a doubt. It turns out that the internal hard drive where I had the P3D and all the accessories stopped being recognized by the PC. but months ago that same disk was completely erased by itself, so I consider that hard disk for dead. then I could install P3D on the external hard drive with all the addos etc. I hope someone helps me with this question and thanks in advance.

Hey, So I just got a new computer today with my main goal to run FSX as smooth as i can. I have done alot of research about hardware requirements and have learned that installing FSX on a separate SSD can help performance. My computer has a 1TB Western Digital hard drive, and also a 120GB Crucial M500 SSD. I was planning on dedicating the SSD to FSX with all of my add-ons and everything, but the SSD seems to be my main C drive and my 1TB WD hard drive is the D drive. My windows 7 is installed on the SSD (C Drive) and it seems to be my default drive at the moment where everything gets downloaded to. Does anyone know how to move everything to my 1TB WD hard drive and make that my default drive so I can dedicate my SSD 100% to FSX? Any help is much appreciated, Tyler

.X file texture name
Blawrence posted a topic in FSX/FSX-SE Aircraft and Panel Design Forum - How To
Hi, I have made several aircraft using Flight Simulator Design Studio. The aircraft are for being static aircraft. Then I export it as a .X file and open it using Model Converter X. In Model Converter, the aircraft has no textures. In the event log, I get this message: "Unsupported X command TextureFilename" At the bottom of the event log, it says "Could not find linked animation for Wing__left_6" even though I do not have any animations on the model. I export it as an .X file because when I try to compile it as a scenery object or aircraft file I get lots of errors and the file comes up empty. Does anyone know how to fix this problem? I have SDK on a different hard drive than FSDS. Aircraft is FSDS: Aircraft in MCX with missing textures: -
