My C drive on which Windows 10 is installed plus other progs is also the drive on which Steam insisted on installing FSX (at least I didn't see any other option during the process).

 

This C drive is 250GB and is now just over three quarters full so it has 49GB free. I'd like to move the 52GB of FSX to another 250GB drive that is almost empty which would leave the C drive with about 100GB free.

 

If I uninstall FSX will Steam enable me to install it to my F drive? How do you uninstall in Steam?

 

I'd appreciate any helpful suggestions. Thanks.

Hi Iain,

 

to install on another driver:

open Steam; top left go to "Settings" and then "Downloads". On the top of this window you will have something like "Library Folder" (mine is in portuguese and my english is not the best, sorry!); here you have an "Add Folder" option. Click on it and choose whatever drive you want. From now on every time you want to install a new game steam will ask you on which drive/partition you want to install the new game. I hope this helps.

Thanks Pedro!!  I was just getting ready to install FSX SE (my first Steam experience) and wanted to know how to install it out of the Program (x86) folder path.  Your instructions worked perfectly!

Which drive has (or will have) your OS?

 

 I recently cloned an 128GB SSD c: drive (with my OS - Win 10, and FSX-SE on it) to a new much larger capacity SSD - 500GB.  I re-named the larger SSD to be the c: drive, and gave another unused letter to the old SSD. (Steam is in the root dir, of course).

 

Steam worked fine without a reinstall.  My logic (I think?) was that Steam & Win 10 would still be recognized by the registry in the c: drive.
