June 18, 200322 yr Is that supposed to be a rotating beacon? Do 737s have rotating beacons?Lee Hetherington (KBED)http://vatsim.pilotmedia.fi/statusindicato...tor=OD1&a=a.jpg
June 18, 200322 yr That is a sweet effect! As far as I know the -100 and -200 have rotating beacons and maybe the -300. After that I don't think any other 737s have them.John/AFG

June 20, 200322 yr Commercial Member Paul! The 737NGs don't use beacons, they use strobes. I think rotating becons are a bit out of fashion in most modern construction because they entail lotsa moving parts that you don't get with a strobe....Only part of the strobe that moves is the light beam....and that is cheap! Robert S. Randazzo PLEASE NOTE THAT PMDG HAS DEPARTED AVSIM You can find us at: http://forum.pmdg.com
June 20, 200322 yr No not really, only a/c after a certain date I belive is like 92 or something must have a red becon light. Older a/c like pipers only have white strobes and no beacons on some. Also a Red strobe will be called a beacon and works fine. When they say beacon it is now loosley meant as a red light and strobe as white even though both in reality will be strobes. Hope that helps. Great job on the Southwest and new a/c. Love the winglets. Anyone know how long until they have some in [email protected]
June 20, 200322 yr I like how you state that with such authority John, it's to bad you did not bring your facts along to support your firm statement.[h5]Best Wishes,Randy J. June 20, 200322 yr Nothing beats the double rotating red becons of the L1011. Those were neat to see on the ramp. Eric
June 21, 200322 yr Hey Randy go easy on John! Instead why not tell us all more about your computer setup or maybe some other erroneous quotes..... :-rollPaul ;-)
