ATTENTION POTENTIAL 737NG BUYERS!!!!!

Featured Replies

This is an objective analysis of PMDG and 737NGNO I AM NOT A PMDG MEMBER OR FANATIC!!!Buy it!! I had $50 in my checking account till my next pay check in 1.5 weeks, $39.95 went to PMDG today. When FS2004 comes out 737NG and the volumetric clouds will be my life!! :)Overall rating on a scale 0-10, 9.5 Panels, external model, and Electronic Flight displays LOOK INCREADIBLE. Much better and sharper than PIC 767, and wilco 737. The 2D panel is incredibly sharp and crisp with the best 3D feel to swiches I have yet to see. I am a panel guru!! :)Getting it:1) I purchased the PMDG 737NG with absolutely NO problems this morning, the hardest part was typing in my address on the form.2) I immediatly recieved an email with download link.3) I clicked the link, downloaded the main file with NO delays or problems what so ever.4) The registartion is not a problem if you can do the "copy / paste" task you can do the registration. 2 numbers need to be copy and pasted into an email and that's it. You will have 10 days to do this in order to get the permenant key.5) The entire process took me 5 mins. to download all files(T1-Line!! :)) Install, and send off registration email.Flying it:1) I took her up on a few test hops doing some steep 60-degrees turns in the patern. She responed beautifly as expected. I am very picky on aerodynamics. Try a steep turn and see what happens to your verticle component of lift!!! lol2) The external model looks spectacular. I did notice the cargo door outline was going into the fuselage. This happens on most of my planes thus I suspect it to be a graphics card issue (Raddeon 9000 128mb)3) I did not test out the autopilot, systems, or FMC thourghly yet. And I do expect some minor problems. Otherposts on here are slaming the product to a minor glich or their stupidity. That is uncalled for.4) I am a little dissappointed that the manual is not available but it will be in a few days. There are some very basic tutorials included that will get the systems up and a basic FMC tutorial.5) Do not take all these negative posts seriously. There are some legitimet gliches, though ABSOLUTELY NOTHING MAJOR. 6) PMDG has the best most dedicated Customer Service available. The insignificant bugs will be fixed quickly.Summation: the product is excellent in quality, there are some very very petty bugs but there is no Major Issues. The flight dynamics (Aerodynamics) are very very good, panels are spectacular, model is very very good. There is a female captain if you look in the cockpit. These are photos so I suspect it is a PMDG wife next side her huspand.. ;)PMDG please get the manuals out. I know you guys have a rough 7/7/03 date for the manuals. Also, please have a patch for increaded functionality with FS2004 which includes fixes for the minor issues addressed in this forum. After you guys sleep for a week ;)Enjoy..Good BlessRegards Billy Boooob

I Agree with this post, don't let those negative post scare you away. It's 100% worth the money

I completely agree. It is worth 110% the $$

Hi there!I am happy for YOU...But I have had nothing but problems with my deal!First the servers were down, so my order was withdrawn from my VISA, but not registered on their server, thus my link was invalid...Then I had to reorder...Did that this morning...Now well over

Boaz,I really feel for you and all the other guys experiencing these problems with the download process. I can guarantee you though that once you get the airplane, and you will get it, all your "negative thinking" and frustration is gone forever (once PMDG get some small issues sorted out, like the deteriorating fps with VC mode). :) One fantastic bird!/Krister

Yep I agree, it you thinking about it..get it. It is well worth the money the models, VCockpit and cabin are stunning. The FDE is exellelent. The only downsides are a few glitches with the AutoPilot -VNAV and having no manual sid or stars!! :DEDIT: And yes can a agree with the above post with some bad FPS in the cockpit-especially on takeoff and landing. I have never had these probs before but to for about 30 seconds in the takeoff and landing rolls??

I have some sids and stars for [email protected][h5]Best Wishes,Randy J. Smith[/h5][h6]The Next Great one? What bothers me quite a lot, is that a post of mine about PMDG failing to comply with legislation pertaining to the supplier/customer relationship was deleted by the Powers That Be. I bought the plane, I paid for it, the payment was received, the payment was accepted. So money changed hands: that was MY part of the deal. At that very moment PMDG's legal part of the deal became: supplying me with the "full and unrestricted enjoyment of my purchase". They failed to do this, but gave me a ten day period of "grace" instead, without initially giving the necessary information on how to get a permanent registration key (that info only came after losts of postings in this forum). I do neither want nor accept grace from shopkeepers. Dealing out "grace" is the Good Lords business, not the self-invented job of a tradesperson. The law in various countries, including mine, is quite clear. The tradesman has, after having accepted the payment, only ONE duty: supplying the customer with the full and unrestricted enjoyment of their purchase. PMDG's copyright protection and their "grace" seem to be illegal, besides being an unnecessary bother to the customers. I fully understand and support PMDG's need to protect their copyrights and financial interests, but loading the problems of such protection mainly on their clients' shoulders instead of on their own, is not a good idea. HOW to get the registration code and how to escape from the period of "grace" was only made clear to us after lots of postings in the forums, while it shouldn't be our job at all. This is not exactly what I would call supplying the customer with the full and unrestricted enjoyment of his purchase. Well, my previous post about this issue was duly deleted by the moderators of this forum, so I really wonder how long this one will last. And that really bothers me the most: the deletion of apparently unwelcome posts.Jaap Verduijn.

1) Your previous post wasn't deleted, but is buried in the forum. You searched, right? http://forums.avsim.com/dcboard.php?az=sho...ype=search#5591 :-mad If that is what bothers you the most, but you didn't even take the time to check if that happened. You just ASSSUMED. That is what bothers ME the most when accusations of post deletions are thrown without any kind of research. I expect an apology to all the moderators for that accusation.2) You knew about the grace period, you knew how the registration worked, and you bought anyway. You entered a contract with PMDG, and now you abide by the rules of the contract. PMDG can specify whatever terms they want. If you don't agree, then ask for a refund, or sue them if you want. You shouldn't have bought it in the first place if you are so worried about that, especially knowing about the registration process and grace period (which you say are "illegal"). Oh and did I mention that you STILL BOUGHT IT???Sheesh...:-roll

I stand corrected about the alleged deleting, I was wrong there, and I apologize to PMDG.As for the rest: no, we did NOT know how the registration worked. The instructions that came with the download did NOT instruct us correctly. In fact, that's what a lot of messages in various threads are about."(...) Oh and did I mention that you STILL BOUGHT IT??? (...)" Yes I did. And that's why I did expect it to permanently work without the need for endless threads about how to get the bloody registration code. all the time and all the energy that the buyers of the 737 spent in trying to get their registration to work and in posting their questions pertaining thereto here and on the general forum, could have been spent enjoying their new plane instead. Jaap Verduijn.

The grace period and the general registration process was posted in this forum well before the release. There were several several threads about it.

Boaz,I really do feel for you. You bought a product which is real value for money and you will have a lot of fun using it for months/years. Do not let the first few download glitches dissapoint you. You will not remember them in a few days and you have the entire team here to support you.Best Regards,Vangelis========================================== E. M. Greetings Hugo!Of course copyrights and financial interests need to be protected, no doubt about that. But it should be made somewhat easier on the honest customers like you and me (grin)! It's too crazy for words that following the instructions in the download, and in the pop-ups that appear every time you start up the 737, leads you NOWHERE. It should not be necessary to read threads on a forum, in order to finally figure out what to do in order to permanently enjoy a purchase. And believe me: enjoy it I do! But after I've paid I want the SUPPLIER to take care of protecting his interest, instead of him expecting ME to jump through loops.Geez, if LAGO can do it (safeguard their interests) without unduly bothering the customers, why can't PMDG? And why did they, in initial response to my and others peoples questions, give out wrong and useless information? We had to prod them in order to finally figure it out!Be well!Jaap Verduijn.
