Bill, Michael and of course PMDG Congratulations! Basten Heidema[a href=http://www.ifdg.net]--iFDG website!--[/a]

Nice news, expecially Bill's entry...MD-11 is not my favorite plane, I would have preferred the 777 or the 717...but that's your choice...can't wait for the 744...

I love the PMDG B737NG and can't wait to buy the B747-400, but the prospect of the MD11 leaves me cold.I think the MD11 be more of a niche product and won't have the same widespread appeal of the B737 and B747. From a business point of view, I think PMDG would do far better by concentrating their efforts on producing an airliner that a greater number of people would want to buy ... Boeing 777A320 FamilyA330/A340In the real world these types are in widespread use (and will remain so for years to come) and there are no decent FS add-ons based on them.

This is great news but also bad. This means that the MD11 will be payware as Bill told us it's gona be freeware at the nordic forum??Anyway, it's great to here.

Congrats to PMDG and its new members!

I'm getting every aircraft PMDG comes out with. I love the MD-11, and now I will finally have a plane in the All'Italia coulours to fly my Italian sceneries from lagosim with.Remember that you once said that you didn't have the assets to add a weather radar system to your aircraft, maybe now that Grabowski and Frantzeskakis are on your team you will consider doing so.Thanks again PMDG and keep up the good work...,David

Many people are desparate for a payware level MD-11 offering.PMDG will create a great aircraft coupled with Bill's panel which is even now in an unfinished state by far the most accurate MD-11 panel ever. A serious exploration of the MD-11 by a payware team like PMDG will be extremely enticing for any MD-11 aficionados. And make no mistake the number of MD-11 fanatics out there (freaks as I call them) are legion and loyal to their machine. Hopefully the product's price won't be too prohibitive but that's a discussion for another day.I ain't a psychic but with the completion of the MD-11's systems it coult open the way for a PMDG Express level simulation of the 717.

If you are right Shane, why are PMDG developing a payware MD11 when you can get a freeware one from iFDG, or a payware B747-400 when you can get a free one from Meljet or Project Opensky??Freeware aircraft such as Meljet B777, iFDG A319/A320/A321 and Project Opensky A330/A340 have no panel and can hardly be compared to a serious payware offering from PMDG.As for the PSS B777, A320 and A330/A340, anyone who owns them will know they're absolute rubbish in terms of realism and quality compared to a PMDG product. And I bet anyone who owns them would rush to by a better A320/A330/A340 product from PMDG.

>I love the MD-11, and now I will finally have a plane in the>All'Italia coulours to fly my Italian sceneries from lagosim>with.Hem... :)Alitalia not All'italia ;)MD-11 used to depart mainly from Milano Malpensa (LIMC) going to south america or Miami. But some did also depart from Fiumicino (LIRF) and there were also other routes. At this exact moment they are grounded, but Alitalia is going to bring them back into operation soon, as you can see from this shot http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/92979.jpgI've been wanting and waiting a decent MD11 since FS98 and ACsoft one...I really can't wait for the PMDG realization of this one!And i am also happy that Mr ServInfo has made his return to scene: last message he left on his site is december 2003 :)Anyway for the time being, you could use the Airone livery to go shopping in Italy in 737s ;) or Meridiana for MD87/90 :)Many beautiful and free airports are available at www.isdproject.com should you not know.

Finally, Can't wait for it guys!:(...the problem with airbus is that they don't make it easy for developers to find technical information, I think that is a main reason behind not being able to do them.Another thing, as Albaro said, don't just guess about how low the MD11 fanatic count is...there are a lot of people who love them, including me, and I will definitely be buying this MD11 from PMDG, and i'm guessing with of other people. To me, I perfer the MD11 over the 747 anyday, so generalising that making well known planes isn't always the case because there are a lot of people who really don't even fly any boeings, they fly Tupolev and the likes...and it's quite rare to get a good detailed product of these types of aircraft, that is why i think PMDG have made the best decision in developing the MD11. Good luck PMDG, I can't wait for it, you'll have my money!:(
