No, only because I don't rely on the VC for anything, but I know VC junkies prefer the VC to be complete as the 2D model. - Chris Gigabyte Z790 Aorus Elite AX | Intel Core i9 13900KF | Gigabyte GeForce RTX 4090 24 GB | 64GB DDR5 SDRAM | Corsair H100i Elite 240mm Liquid Cooling | 1TB & 2TB Samsung Gen 4 SSD | 1000 Watt Gold PSU | Windows 11 Pro | Thrustmaster Boeing Yoke | Thrustmaster TCA Captain X Airbus | Asus ROG 38" 4k IPS Monitor (PG38UQ) Asus Maximus VII Hero motherboard | Intel i7 4790k CPU | MSI GTX 970 4 GB video card | Corsair DDR3 2133 32GB SDRAM | Corsair H50 water cooler | Samsung 850 EVO 250GB SSD (2) | EVGA 1000 watt PSU - Retired
March 8, 200521 yr As much as i can if the weather gets bad i have to switch to the 2d as my frame rates drop big time.
March 8, 200521 yr Why don't you just select the '2D cockpit view only'?All the best,Dave.'Three greens and soft landings' Dave Taylor
March 8, 200521 yr Never when flying any airliner.Always when flying GA. Two very different experiences and two different needs.Mike
March 8, 200521 yr Never,Found it hard work in A320PIC - so have not really tried it in PMDG. Generally find it difficult to read the gauges in VC.
March 8, 200521 yr 1) NO. In my opinion 3D cockpit is not realistic enough (at 1280x1024x32 AA=6x AF=8x), consequently I prefer to fly using 2D.Andreahttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/800driver.jpghttp://fs2crew.com/linepilot.jpg
March 8, 200521 yr 99.9% of the time, I am in a 2D Only setup. Every once in a while, I will load an aircraft with a VC, but I only use it in cruise. March 8, 200521 yr Hi,Well I fly 100% of the time in VC, I love it everything works apart from the clock or tedious stuff that i have not used yet.I like the 3d factor the only thing I do not like is trying to position myself in the captains chair to get a perfct view of both the PFD ND and good outside view for say landings. I will use the 2d rarely now as i like to be able to get the 3d feel of the cockpit.and with active camera I have all my important areas of the cockpit and those wings views covered. From cntrl 1 to cntrl 0.1 being the main scan of instruments (captain) outside view pfd and nd, 2 being the mcp and du, 3 being overhead, 4 being the fmc, 5 the throttle quad and 6 the radios. 7-0 being the wing views.Well I hope someday I can run with higher fps but it is acceptable for now.Mark ;)http://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/ng_driver.jpgBAV1095 Captain

March 9, 200521 yr Hi Johnny ;-) I used to be a "never" guy. But when established on AP, VNAV, LNAV, I have become a "now and then guy", especially with lotsa mountians around and AS2004 running with bad weather. Deepens the thrill.
March 9, 200521 yr 1), 2): Rarely. Actually only for startup and taxi. The stutters suck too much in flight. The Flight1 Cessna 172 has quite a FPS and stutter friendly cockpit (no wonder because of the missing complexity). I use it 100% there.3) None because of the low update rate.5) Yes. Checked here.or: MS should finally implement its software the right way, so we don't need the next generation supercomputer to fly a Cessna. It looks like there is too much legacy code in FS9.Alex Alex' Projects: Little Navmap
