October 17, 200817 yr Hi Guys,Everytime I am on approach from about 200ft AGL 'till the ground the EGPWS is shouting out: terrain, terrain. My F/O is going crazy ;-) something I can do about it ?Grtz,Sean Sean De Maere
October 17, 200817 yr Same issue, that should be inhibited when in landing configuration - I suppose thats pretty easy to fix though ?!Cheers,Niklas
October 17, 200817 yr I have noticed this as well. Sam Anderson Every cigarette takes 17 minutes off your life, every slice of bacon takes 9 minutes off your life. If you smoke and eat bacon fast enough, you can go back in time.
October 17, 200817 yr Commercial Member I get this, too. I thought it was inhibited during approach?Best regards,Robin.

October 17, 200817 yr Maybe the F/O had too much sugar in his coffee before the flight? lol Matthew Bellette
October 17, 200817 yr Ryan,Don't have the GPWS terrain calls during a normal approach. However,When making a Go-around, retrackting Flaps28, so leaving the approach configuration, GPWS starts giving these non appropriate calls. Also FMA starts flashing Ground Prox warnings. So, when investigating GPWS during approach, please have a look at the GA part as well.Regards,Harry
October 18, 200817 yr Not 100% sure, but I think I only heard this during an autoland approach...Niklas
November 8, 200817 yr Instead of saying "terrain, terrain" the flight officer on my MD-11 says "too low, terrain". This only happens when the "Appr/Land" switch is engaged. Fortunately my landings proceed without further incident. Peter
