It safe to say that they don't frequent these forums. If they did, then they must be having one heck of a laugh.

It is safe to say that some of you frequenting this forum NOW have little clue of what is going on, and what the devs of PIC do or don't do.Of course, everyone can believe what they want, but I find it amazing how persistently SOME of the guys writing here want to believe that:1. PICv2 is not coming2. the team does not read their official forum Even after several times of reassuring and repeating, the same mumbo goes on and on.Tero

Tero and All,Well, that's kinda the point of all these questions, isn't it?. Yes, we don't know what's going on. And being the 767PIC fans that we are I can't blame any of us for asking questions and showing some anticipation towards a new product that will take PIC into FS2004.I've pointed this out before. I find it strange at best that the developers are not more active in this forum. Especially considering that here lies their most devoted CUSTOMERS and FANS. And, especially considering the competition that v2 will be facing upon its release. But hey, that is their choice to make.Same goes for press releases and updates or whatever. The developers choose who, what, and when to say what they want. We, as potential customers have no right to demand anything. However, through our questions maybe we can convey a sense of anticipation for what this project may be developing. For myself, I started this string because I find myself really not wanting to use FS2002 anymore. Since I have installed 2004, I have added numerous add-ons that make 04 just plain ROCK. Yes, I am pretty much done with 2002.So, before plunking down some hard dough and a lot of time learning a new sim I was just hoping to catch a glimpse into how far away PICv2 is. Unfortunately, that information seems to be veiled in secrecy by just about everyone here, most importantly by the developers themselves. What I have concluded for myself is that v2 is a LONG WAY out. If I read the tea leaves correctly, v2 might just be starting a very long BETA stage. Then again, it may not even be that far along. Let's face it, the announcement that developement is proceeding nicely could mean anything. But whatever. For myself I have made the decision to purchase PMDG. I just haven't had the time recently to give it a go. I really don't want to do this as I am VERY well set up for 767 charts, sim manuals, and I'm VERY familiar with the sim. But that's the way it goes I guess. No, I truely cannot say if I will return to the 767. Most likely, I am going to wait until I see some active support from the developers in the form a patch or something. Even then, I'm going to have to decide about re-investing time in an older sim vs the time and effort that I will have spent learning a new sim.Hopefully, 767PIV v2 will ROCK to such a degree that I will have no choice but to return. At this point we can only hope! At least until Wade and company decide to get a PR person or they decide to start keeping their cutomers up-to-date regarding v2. HAWKMAN

Whatever man - that's stupid as all hell, you won't get PIC2 unless you see them release a patch for it?? The very reason the development is taking so long is because they don't want there to even be a need for a freaking patch! Let them do their work and stop badgering for info - they owe none of us anything.

Heres an ideaANYONE who is awaiting PIC v2 just pretend its not happening. Its never going to happen... that way when it does turn up its a nice suprise :(Your not going to get any info so drop al this soppy fan crap. Yer we love PIC but v2 is not here so just wait like everyone else...

MR. GOSTAThere is not one hint of intelligence in your post. This is a topic which has over 3000 views and over 50 replies. You would think that this "moderator" will jump in by now. And, please excuse me for not spending all day in front of the computer, deciphering forums to see who's a moderator, or check people's profile to see who's who. Personally, I don't care. I come here for information, research of relevant topics, and assistance. Nothing more. Apparently your post drags far, far from your "intellectual capabilities."

What has me concerned here is the lack of interaction between the developers and the users. Along with this, what kind of support can we expect after the release of v2? In a perfect world, the sky would always be blue, we would all have winning lottery tickets, and all software would be 100% perfect and glitch-free upon it's initial release.Unfortuntely, this is not a perfect world. If anyone should know this it's you as I see that you are sporting a PMDG Beta Team member signature. Didn't the PMDG 737 require some patches? Even after YOU guys finished your BETA testing? And yes Ryan, I have been burned more than several times by software that was released too early. So, realistically, I expext the v2 software NOT to be perfect, regardless of how long the developement takes.Just as I do with just about all software purchases, I will read the industry publication reviews first. I will check the forums and read the reviews from those who have jumped in. And ultimately, I will make a decision based on that if the software may be worth my friggen hard earned cash.IMHO, that is not being "stupid," as you put it. It's being SMART.

>What has me concerned here is the lack of interaction between the developers and the users.< Hawkman, PLEASE try to get this through your head: The "Team" DOES interact with users. They do not, howver, interact with EVERY user, or potential user. Sorry you haven't been consulted, but the Team has some of the very best in the business working with them. Your comment, "what kind of support can we expect..?" is insulting. I can't think of any product that has enjoyed better product support from it's developers. What does providing YOU with preview or update of early testing have to do with the support of a completed/released product? And there is no reasom to compare one products problems to one that hasn't been released yet. One has NOTHING to do with the other. If you are as "SMART" as you claim, perhaps this will sink in, this time?

Hmmm, >Personally, I don't care. I come>here for information, research of relevant topics, and>assistance. Ok ! well, if you come for info, that's legitimate enough however I like many others don't necessarily come into a forum to be insulted.."Are you ALL serious? Are you ALL puppets? Are YOU zombies walking around with your heads chopped off? Are YOU robots who are cloned..."(emphasis on the ALL & the YOU)Ring a bell ?So don't be to suprised from the reaction that this post as recieved !!! You asked for it...And it has been said right from the start that the team will not be posting until they decide to ! Why not respect that ? I can't understand anyone having a problem withthat as it was clearly stated from the beginning what their intentions were! So why stir it up once more...? Another member of this forum recently wrote the following :"Ok, dinner is served in 2 hours, I want my wife to give me a full preview first or I won't eat"I did exactly that and went to ask my wife to give me a preview... ; the answer came back as quick as a flash : "Go cook it yourself..." Good advice however, as she cooks better than myself, I suggested that she kept on cooking and I would eat as soon as she's ready !! There might just be a morality to this story... !! In the meantime may I suggest a different approach when writing your posts...perhaps a more subtle one ?happy landings

Part of the problem a number of members here are having with the frequency of updates may be due to the approach taken by Eric Ernst with respect to earlier incarnations.Version 6.4 was previewed gauge by gauge as Eric/Wade designed and completed individual portions of the work. However, with PIC becoming more integrated, the work will be proportionately more back-office coding and less snazzy graphics than it used to be. Plus a strong element in Eric's personal approach was the posting of updates (almost as a form of marking project milestones). The team involved in this latest development take a different view, my personal judgement would favour little and often, even if it's simply a short paragraph. This gives the public a feeling of involvement and enables the team to manage expectations (A key feature in every software development project).

Perhalps the reason nothing is being said is because of the plethoria of questions that would bombard the team, thus taking away valuable time they could be using coding gauges etc. I think it is wise that they are silent. Wade did say it was progressing.

I think that they are saying nothing is that if they would give a release date and if they would not be making the deadline that they would be bombarded with angry mails. If they do make the deadline because they had to leave some little things away to make the deadline they would be bombarded with angry mails. We all know programming is a painfull process with lots and lots of unforseen things so they decided no deadline to make them angry and no private mail they have to answer 10000000000 times with stupid questions like, when will v2 be released.just my 2 cents and since i did not pay anything i expect nothing and will just see when and if it is released.MarcoPS i would hate to pay for another product that did not work properly or halfly or just plain not like i have so many times.
