some days I simply scratch my 56 yo bald head and wonder what ever happened to civility ... honestlythis is a tough place to visit and make a comment ... has been for many years ... what ever happened to letting someone ask their question, make their statement, wish for more info, be excited about something .... even if it is redundant or what ever ... good grief ... life is tough enoughall i want for christmas is some civility and think that the old trite phrase "if you have nothing nice to say, don't say anything" really fits in this forum.

And, of course, that maxim about civility applies to one and all - the posters as well as the harried postees, right Paul? What's good for the goose, and all that? If someone comes into this forum and asks a question that could be easily found on the first page... then that would be considered uncivil?I think so. I agree with your post Paul. I think most people would.Though, I respectfully disagree with your assessment of this forum. At its best, this forum has engaged in some informative, lively and instructive threads about the beloved 767PIC. That's what this forum does best: discuss the 767. At its worst - and I'm guilty of participating in some of the lowlights - this forum is home to some of the dumbest crap this side of the A-Team. Those moments are usually provided by someone asking a question that could have been answered by simply searching the forum first. What makes this forum different from other avsim hosted forums is the moderator, Wade Chafe. Wade happens to believe that things will work themselves out, and has given free reign to most posts. They aren't censored, checked, scrutinized, or sanitized before posting. Posts are here, warts and all. Try that over at PSS.I understand your point about civility Paul, and I'd love to see more of it as well. That said (my 2nd favourite saying), I, for one (and I know I'm not alone), am sick of the lazy attitude that has pervaded many posters to the plethora of fs-forums dotting the internet. A little internet investigating will usually provide an answer. The quick-fix is what many seem to desire, and they get shirty if the fix isn't provided pronto. I looked the other day at the front page of this forum, and there were 6 questions about when the LDS767 was going to be released... how assinine is that?I eagerly await the day the LDS767 rolls out of Wade's Nfld. shop and into the Flight1 hanger. The difference is: I have come to realize that everything fine takes time. Good scotch. Fine wine. Really good lamb shanks. So, wrapping this present up: I wish for everyone here who visits and partakes of this forum, to remember a few things: 1. Wade Chafe, Pedro Sousa, Laurent Crenier & Eric Ernst are very busy right now.2. The LDS767 will be released as soon as its ready3. Rob Hall is in Tulsa. Jeez......I think Ive heard this before........> I have come to realize that everything fine takes time. Good scotch. Fine wine. Really good lamb shanks.

Ah, two week's and counting...."My stance is dont mention the project till it is GOLD.....you will save frequent inquires...."I think GOLD was what I flew at the Flight 1 booth in Denver back in September for a couple of hour's right before I got to compare it to a Level D 767-300 at the UAL training center. I think GOLD was what the guy's up north flew in the recent charity flight.....Guess I am waiting for Platnium...Steve ParkKSDF

Well... What can we do then? wait paciently... no much more!:-ukliam

I think GOLD was what the guy's up north flew>in the recent charity flight.....>>Guess I am waiting for Platnium...>>Steve Park>KSDF>Nope it was an early Beta version that LDS let us use.

For christ sake guys... give it a rest already.Gold, Platinum, Alpha, Beta.... do we have to wait before we can fly the final release of LDS767 ? YES we do.Maybe I indeed am one of those people here who will jump at people who are unwilling to accept the simple facts that Daryl previously outlined, but I can't understand what is it that you are thinking of accomplishing with these constant speculations and guessing and demands. It's out when it's ready. If all else fails, repeat that sentence a hundred times, then drink a glass of scotch (double).... then repeat it another hundred times. Go on like this until you have said the sentence 1000-1500 times, and I'll assure you LDS767 will be the last thing you want to worry about afterwards...Tero

Ya Just Got to watch out which CATs you let out of the bag....

<>Next time you're over here in the UK I'll buy you lunch at a little pub in Devon that does the BEST Lamb Shank I've ever tasted... in redcurrent sauce... Wonderful.... makes me salivate just thinking about it....Steve M

"dumbest crap this side of the A-Team."Disgraceful. The A-Team is classic TV - hang your head in shame Shuttleworth.

Well, I read all this posts, plus many others, And I just found the best post of all.. Paul Benoit's post...Yes definetely age give us wisdom!!!!...You are right Paul in all points...Many people here are so agresive and rude with some posts...Let people ask waht they want...give them the right to do it... if you know more, or if you are more patient than them..or whatever reason you have...RESPECT the right to post..don't become judges with the right to decide what can be post and what not to post...And...of course I'll have to spect some rude replys..but I quit here.I am just waiting the release too...Please don't forget we are a comunity over here..sharing the same hobbie..just be polite...and as Mr. Paul Benoit said..."if you don't have anything nice to say..please don't say it"..save it for yourself..Merry Christmas and a happy new year to all you fellow simmers..CheersRodrigo

Rodrigo,Not to extend this ad nauseum... but thanks, you got my point exactly ... especially "RESPECT the right to post..don't become judges with the right to decide what can be post and what not to post" We all know that "It will be done when it's done" etc etc etc ... This is supposed to be a place to assist folks with their issues, and give folks a voice ... even if it is said over and over AND it seems useless and silly to you .. what's wrong with a bit of excitement and enthusiasm or another question ... I don't get it, if you are a harried "postee" don't read the gd topic, move on to something else, really there's no need to pontificate and condescend to tell people what they should and should not search ... honestly, such arrogance ... o wellnuff saidCheers and Happy Holidays!

Paul is right; it would be nice to have more civility in here. I know I have probably come across as being short/rude on occasion myself. However, Daryl is also correct; civility is a two way street. The people coming in and posting questions should try and follow the etiquette for user groups and forums. The first rule is search first!Imagine if you were standing beneath Big Ben (you know, the big clock) and every couple of minutes someone comes up to you and asks you what time it is. That would get pretty annoying right? How long before even the most civil person tells the guy to try looking up. Some people want to be spoon fed answers instead of looking for themselves. Or perhaps they think that their post saying

Mike - You analogy with Big Ben doesn't quite hold water. Here in the forum you have the option of walking away from above question, or not even give it a glance. It's not like you are personally asked these questions.Every forum has the problems with repetitive questions and people wanting to be spoon fed. This does not give the ones who know better the right to get arrogant. Two wrongs doesn't make a right... I've had to bite my tounge on many occasions since last fall on the forum just upstairs, and I'll be the first to admit it's not easy all the time. But it's doable and I would recommend some people on this forum to try the same. One last important thing to remember:When the LDS767 is released this forum will be flooded with ignorant questions and questions that has been answered a zillion times before. You old-timers better get prepared for that! You'll be glad you have the ability to walk away from the most ignorant ones believe me ;-)My soaring 2 canadian cents,Mats Johansson
