HI Neil,You have fsuipc registered or free fsuipc version? Just delete all files related to FSUIPC, fsuipc.ini, FSUIPC.key,FSUIPC.log, fsuipc.dll and reinstall again.I don't think it's the 3d cards related driversetting don't able to render the fog? Could you change the aircraft if it is related, I am trying to find why you have this issue.I just tested 5 time now in differents location, everything is fine here like my 2 screenshots.-I have the latest fsuipc version FSUIPC 3.50 (free version)http://www.schiratti.com/dowson.html-When I start fs2004, the weather is completly clear, (Recommend to save a saved flight and make as default flight with clear weather.)-Dynamic weather slider in fs2004 (rate of change) is set to none.-Sight Distant slider in fs2004 display setting, completly to left-I set weather off in fsuipc.Go in ASVE WX configurator:Empty the METAR editable string and Write LQSA 000000Z cavok in the METAR editable string, and save the template. -Select the Cavok template-Click apply to location instead of specific stationrange-Click Apply Now (wait a little bit)-Click Update and CloseNow you have to wait a little bit in fs2004 to generate the metar correctly.ThanksChris WillisHiFi Simulation Software Team Developerhttp://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_dev_team.jpg http://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_proud_supporter.jpg

Hallo guys. After hours more testing, here is what I have come up with.I selected one of the default weathers in wx Configurator (clear skies) which lists vis as 10SMI get a very reasonable horizonhttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/130551.jpgI then close all down, restart and set CAVOK using wx configurator and get this awful picturehttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/130552.jpgI then experimented and found an airfield where the online weather was showing as CAVOK, and again got the horrible horizon. One more confusing thing. When I select cavok in wx configurator and go to airfield I linked it to, it always starts in rain with lots of cloud and a great blurry horizon, then after a couple of minutes goes bad. Whereas when I select clear skies, it loads up almost instantly? Is there any way to alway have a horizon similar to the clear skies one. Is this to do with the reported vis (although when selecting CAVOK in wx configurator, it still lists vis as 10SM).

Hallo Jim,I am running it with all the suggestions:TAF processing offFog Generation offUse FS9 Haze offNew install of FSUIPC (and weather reset in FS9)FS9 sight set to minimum (60km)I seem to have narrowed it down to the visibility from the metar, or maybe I am barking up the wrong tree. I understand what you are getting at by saying that if you set the max vis to 10km in ASV, it should be superflous if the metar gives 30km, as it should not see past 10km.But what I seem to find is that greater vis in METARs gives a harder horizon line, and reducing max vis setting in ASV just brings that line closer! Are there any other tests you would like me to carry out? Give me some parrameters, and I will give you screenshots

Hi,My apologies, but this thread has gotten a bit big and we have lost organization. I am going to lock it, but please do create a new thread as needed.FWIW, from the screenshots, I cannot see anything wrong! Remember that higher visibilities as specified by METAR or otherwise DO result in harder horizon lines. This is true in FS9 as well as real life. Also please feel free to email me directly @ [email protected].. more than happy to help!!Best,
