October 21, 200619 yr Hi,During the refresh (loading Wx stations) process FSX stutters and spits and coughs. :) I am using Wideclient 7 with ASV6.5 on the client computer. I think it might be a FSUIPC issue as I get a similar, albeit much smaller, affect without ASV. Any other wideclient users with a similar problem? Thanks.Bob.. Bob Prince
October 21, 200619 yr Yup, same here across a WideFS7 connection. Doesn't seem to matter whether throttling is on or off. Happens both with ASv6 and 6.5. Regards, Al Jordan | KCAE
October 21, 200619 yr Hi Guys,See if disabling ASG helps at all. We did note some issues in the FSX Compatibility document that you may need to look at. All of this is new and we are working through things as we go.Thanks,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development Team Active Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter: http://www.jdtllc.com/AirSource Member: http://www.air-source.us/FSEconomy Member:http://www.fseconomy.com/
October 21, 200619 yr >All of this is new and we are working through things as we>go.Understood, as are we (end-users.) I do have ASG auto-submit as well as the GEPro options all disabled. I don't necessarily believe it has anything to do specifically with AS but that fact the FSX is living on the edge and any additional processing or CPU loading is merely reflected in the FPS.R/ Regards, Al Jordan | KCAE
October 21, 200619 yr Commercial Member Hi,Peter Dowson just posted FSUIPC 4.02, which apparently fixes some slowness/performance issues. Not sure this relates to weather or this problem at all, but worth giving it a shot.FWIW we did have some reported slowness in beta when on same computer and throttling enabled, as outlined in the .txt. But no such issues via WideFS. Best, Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation Technologies
October 22, 200619 yr Author Thanks. I'll give it a try.Bob..Edit: Made the changes (4.02) and ensured throttling and GE pro update disabled. No change. FPS drops during every update cycle.Bob... Bob Prince
October 22, 200619 yr Commercial Member Hi Bob,Thanks for the feedback...It looks fairly isolated (most users not having this issue?). Hopefully in the next few days we can put a handle on it to improve things.Any further input on this matter from anyone experiencing such behavior would be much appreciated!Best, Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation Technologies

Never experienced this in FS9...Hope it's helpful...Andr André
October 22, 200619 yr Same problem here guys....ASV causes my server FSX computer to choke up during the update process....and I also....sometimes....get a "white flashing" on the very top of my monitor....as if I am going in and out of a cirrus cloud....that is very small.Curiously....on 3 other computers that are running WideView and replicating the weather from the client....that white flashing does not occur.....and I see little slow downs or "chokes" in their updated weather.I installed FSUIPC 4.02 this morning....but soon replaced it back to 4.01 after I lost my airspeed and altitude reads for Project magenta instruments.I have notified Pete.Regards,Cap'n Tarmack

October 22, 200619 yr Ditto here... Running AS 6.5 on a second computer via WideFS 7, with registered FSUIPC 4.02 on the FSX machine.First noticed this while taxying in spot view. As the update began, my aircraft started to stutter badly, and FPS dropped way down.It happens in flight too, though the effect is somewhat less.Jim Barrett Jim BarrettLicensed Airframe & Powerplant Mechanic, Avionics, Electrical & Air Data Systems Specialist. October 22, 200619 yr >Any further input on this matter from anyone experiencing such>behavior would be much appreciated!Hi Damian,Yes, it still happening to me across WideFS7 on v4.02. Currently over nothern Alaska (testing our new circular Earth) although now only seems to drop from ~ 23FPS to around 14FPS during the writes. I also experience the white-flashes (top half of screen) during the updates in "Spot" view where as I hadn't noticed it before but was not specificaly looking for it nor was I in-flight.R/ Regards, Al Jordan | KCAE
October 28, 200619 yr Author Hey guys,Any update on this issue? I am closely monitoring Peter Dowson's site for any information. Thanks.Bob... Bob Prince
