Many reviews I have seen have run on 400-430 W PSU and they all said it worked fine. And Enermax is a good brand too so I don

>I don

Ah well I see yup that it certainly does. But that is the price you have to pay and I am willing to pay it lol. Me I am rather CPU limited than video card limited since I tend to max out the eye candy anyway really and I play a lot of games not only flightsims. And a good video card releaves pressure from the CPU since they can do more in the GPU. the NV40 GPU can even take care of the physics which before always was made in the CPU.Sure at it

Another interesting quote from the HardOCP review of the 6800 Ultra:"In simple terms of performance, the GeForce 6800Ultra simply crushes the ATI Radeon 9800XT in MS Flight Sim 2004 and greatly steps up the image quality to boot.":P

There are a couple of other review siteswww.firingsquad.com/hardware/www.xbitlabs.com/articles/video/displayAll look very impressive but so it should at that price :-erks

Everything is relative. For all the stuff the NV40 can do that is dirty cheap. It may very well be cheaper than the 5950 ULTRA and 9800XT at launch but then those set new records in being expensive yet don

>>Everything is relativeMr. Einstein (RIP) speaks ...Topic:Those 6800x cards the reviewers got to test were revision A1 cards with 400 MHz GPU clock. Those cards should get into the retail market with the label "6800 Ultra" (16 pipes). The current A2 revision cards will have 475 Mhz and get called "6850 Ultra" in late summer. The performance increase should be within 10-15%. Ultra-like cards have priority by NV-Sales Dep. to stay "on top" of benchmarks ...ATI is expected to show off their productsa at the 4th of May.

ATI will show off and ship their X800 PRO the 4th of May it seem. the X800XT will be shipped the 15th of may it seem. I guess the 6850 ULTRA is to counter that. They seem a bit worried about the X800XT stealing the thunder from the 6800 ULTRA it seems. But looking at how nVidia and ATI seem to plan spotting out new cards each month you start to wonder what kind if circus this is really? Best bang for the buck sure seem to be to either get the 6800 ULTRA or the X800XT though.

>and>greatly steps up the image quality to boot.":P this may be a hyperbole by the author. There is no indication about the "step up" in quality. The only FS2004 pic I saw still shows ATI's superior picture quality in FS2004. As a matter of fact after I read more reviews it became clear that 6800 Ultra delivers quality equal (at best) to the ATI 9800XT but suffers in some games (Far Cry).Michael J.http://www.reality-xp.com/community/nr/rsc/rxp-higher.jpg

well, I am looking at the above 3 pictures and the one from 9800XT in my eyes look the best. True, the differences are small but I am looking at the aircraft and ATI simply gives smoother rendition, fewer of those line-artifacts. If someone shows me a pic from FS2004 where the Nvidia card looks better - I will be a convert. But until now ...Michael J.http://www.reality-xp.com/community/nr/rsc/rxp-higher.jpg

Some hand-picked developers and reviewers were given 6800 based cards with 600 Mhz GPU clock and are still under NDA.These might be a refresh card of the 6800 Ultra or even higher.Source: Mr. X, 3DCenter.de.

More rumours.X800XT clock speeds will be 525/1120 and will be a 11 micron video card (6800 ULTRA being 13 micron) so it will require less power and only one molex...Sounds nice to me I am not sure my 550 W PSU is enough otherwise with my 3 harddrives and waterpumps and stuff.

Nvidia GeForce 6800 Ultra Extreme - GPU 550 Mhz - RAM 1100 MHz ATI Radeon X800 XT Platinum - GPU 520 Mhz - RAM 1120 MHzThe 6800 Ultra GPU clock was upped from 400 to 450 Mhz.The 450 Mhz version goes into Retail market.(confirmed)
