January 19, 200521 yr I have used Spysweepr for about one year now and find it to be excellent. Last week I got the Desk AD Service spyware which launches about 10 new adwares with every boot and could not be deleted. I copied the files to Webroot and in three days I downloaded new spyware defintions that identified the Ad Service and removed all the traces immediately.Great turnaround on reported spyware I think.Greg Greg Clark
January 20, 200521 yr Well, I just uninstalled the fester after two weeks running it and it detecting NO spyware, versus Ad-Aware SE which picked up over 200 intrusions (or whatever they are called) at various intervals over the same timeframe. I'll go with what seems to actually find something.Gary 9800X3D | 4090 | 64GB | 2+1TB NVME | 2TB SSD | 2TB HDD | 85/50/43” TVs | Quest 3 | DOF H3 Motion Rig | Buttkicker | T.16000M Flight Kit MSFS @ 4K Ultra DLSS Performance FG 80 FPS | VR VDXR Godlike 80Hz SSW | MSFS VR DLSS Quality, Ultra Preset - Windows 11 Acer Nitro 5 | i5-11400H | RTX 3060 6 GB | 32GB DDR4 | 15.6" FHD IPS 144Hz | 2 x 512 GB SSD | Windows 11
January 20, 200521 yr Yes Gary, I think this things gone blind. First time I ran it, it found a multitude of objects that Ad-Aware never saw. Since then, nothing. Just ran it, " No spyware" Ran Ad-Aware, it found 23 critical objects.Russell.
January 24, 200521 yr Just another half-done attempt to take over everything by Microsoft... spyware isn't that complicated, if ad-aware and spybot aren't good enough for you, then you really don't understand what spyware is
January 24, 200521 yr If spyware isn't that complicated why are there 5 or 6 sypware applications out there that all find spyware that the others combined can't?
January 24, 200521 yr I tried it but noticed a Command window flash up as my pc booted, apparently saying "program too large for memory".I deleted it, restored my system to before I installed it and the window's gone.Anyone else noticed this on XP? Gerry Howard
January 27, 200521 yr Author Hmmmm.. didnt know this was such a big topic. Havent checked in a while. I have tryed many programs, Adaware and SpyBot mainly. It would find all my spyware, and remove most of it. And many times, i could always get it all out and would run in my next start up. Then i would reboot, and it would clear it off, but 5 min later i could check, and it was all back. This MS program has been great for me. Has frequent updates, runs all the time, and watches for hijack attempts. Does everything that others do, but better, plus more. I am happy with it. Not shure how it runs for others, but i love it. Have had no problems though. From a Spyware free PC user! :-wave Chase Barnett
