The earliest we can use the card is January? As I understand, DX10 will only work in Vista and the retail versions will not be available until after the first of the year. Bob...

All, the card is not just for DX10. It improved my frame rates in some games by 70%! F.E.A.R. was the greatest improvement for me in frame rate. I can also now play quake4 in multiplayer as high as the setting can go with no slowdowns. Before i could only play that way in single player. High levels of AA and AF also take no frame rate hit now. Flight sim with high levels of AA and AF takes on a much more realistic look as it increases the sense of depth you get. It greatly smoothed out my panning around while flying as well. There are no longer any stutters when i pan my view. Also gone are the blurries. I flew FS9 and FSX for well over an hour each lastnight and got no blurries at all in either. With my 7900gt i would get blurries 25% of the time as the card struggled to draw the screen for me in my high 3840x1024 resolution. My point is that you will see huge gains in current DX9 games with this card, not to mention what you'll get when DX10 arrives.

>http://www.smileypad.com/v202/Cache/Holida...cing-Chilli.gif>ha ha Robert!! I like the dancing chili.Yes it just keeps getting better. About a year to 1.5 years from now, many many of us will be running cards with similar capabilities. It's moving faster now. Vista and DX10 are upon us. DDR3 and now maybe DDR4, and quad-core. And so are the DX10 gfx cards. We'll have to see how all of this translates into our FS experiences.RhettAMD 3700+ (@2.5 ghz), eVGA 7800GT 256 (94.47), ASUS A8N-E, PC Power 510 SLI, 2 GB Corsair XMS 3-3-3-8, WD 250 gig 7200 rpm SATA2, CoolerMaster Praetorian

CAN YOU KINDLY LINK>ME/US TO WHERE SOME OF YOUR SHOTS ARE POSTEDhttp://www.matrox.com/graphics/en/gxm/prod...o/gaming/fs.phpIt's called the matrox triplehead. I get a steady 35fps in fs9 with this card with all settings maxed with 4xAA and 8xAF. I get a steady 22-25fps in most non-city areas with fsx with mid range sliders. I get 14fps on the runway at seattle. The 3 screens are a very immersive experience and frankly i would have never gotten into simming without this setup. The single screen with 3/4 of it as dashboard is too visibility limiting to fly imo. The triplehead and trackIR are the next best thing to actually flying. ;)Btw, im running those games at those frame rates on a 2 year old p4 3.6 with 2GB memory. I am upgrading to a quad core as soon as i can procure one which will hopefully add at least 5 or 6 fps to my fsx framerate.Forgot to mention that ATI cards aren't capable of displaying a resolution this high and therefor if you want to use the triplehead then you will have to buy a nvidia 7900gt or greater video card.Dave

And even with Vista and DX10 installed until the DX10 version of FS comes out it won't matter since the software will still be calling the DX9 compatible routines, right?I wouldn't expect any great improvements just from upgrading to Vista....

Robert, I took some shots of fsx running on my system that i posted in the screenshot forum as well.http://www.astrodave.net/fsx/Dave
