March 8, 200818 yr I recall reading that Nvidia users were having problems with fsx. Perhaps with sp2, I never paid complete attention because I'm using an ATI card...albeit an old one.I finally decided to upgrade, but it feels like the 8800 gts (g92)512 is the only logical card to get.Are the problems between sp2 and Nvidia real? Something about menus freezing I think. Is it worked out yet? Perhaps with driver improvements?ThanksBob
March 8, 200818 yr I don't have any menu problem with my 8800GT. But i reinstalled FSX from scratch. The only problem i have is that AA doesn't want to work in windowed mode, but as i only fly in fullscreen that is not an issue to me.Cheers. March 8, 200818 yr as always, a few people have problems but the majority do not. Those few however scream very loudly so it looks like the problems are widespread.
March 8, 200818 yr Author thanks alvega and Jeroen...I'm going to upgrade and we'll see what happens!Bob

March 8, 200818 yr I have an 8800GTS (320mb) and continue to have blurred menus, blurred ATC windows and blurred scenery and aircraft textures ever since I installed SP2. I have tried many different card drivers but to no avail. I operate in windowed mode. The problem only occurs in the immediate vicinity of a busy airfield with lots of AI traffic Sometimes the blurred menus and textures occur on short finals and other times just after landing. I have played around with the sliders and can get the problem to go away if I turn off High water, LOD radius and of course my copius AI traffic. But that generally ruins the sim, so instead I just live with the problem. I should note at this point that I am using two 21inch CRT monitors off this video card and configure the monitors to span the desktop. If I reduce the FSX window so that it fits on just one screen I can have my sliders full up and don't have the problem. So i don't think its a driver problem but more likely a video card memory problem. The card is otherwise great. So if your using just one monitor, go for it. You won't have any probs. If your spanning across two, my guess is you should get the 8800 with the biggest memory (728mb?). Someone else may wish to chime in here with regard to the dual monitor situation.Hope this helps (-:Terry No. No, Mav, this is not a good idea. Sorry Goose, but it's time to buzz the tower! March 8, 200818 yr Author Thanks Terry, that matches something I remember from a different user, when he bought a gigantic monitor, then blurries started. For me, it should be ok...1 19 inch samsung display.Best,Bob
March 9, 200818 yr I have an Nvidia 8800GTX and two (but I only use one in FSX) Samsung 19" monitors. I bought my graphics card before the RTM release of FSX. I have never had a problem with the so called blurries or any other graphics issue, AA and AS work in all FSX modes. I have used each published driver from Nvidia since I've had my card with no issues. I have upgraded from an AMD 6000 to an Intel E8500 and memory is now 2GB DDR3 at 1333Mhz. The frame rates just keep going up but the 8800 takes all I can throw at it.I'm sorry that I can't fire off about blurries or NBG Nvidia drivers or FSX SP1 or SP2. My system just works I guess I'm in a minority. :) John Rig: Gigabyte B550 AORUS Master Motherboard, AMD Ryzen 7 3800XT CPU, 32GB DDR4 Ram, Gigabyte RTX 2070 Super Graphics, Samsung Odyssey wide view display (5120 x 1440 pixels) with VSYNC on.
