February 15, 200719 yr Hi Andreas, just a neutral remark regarding the forum. Ariane has a support forum, I found the link in the manual of their Tu-134 product. I already got support there.Probably only customers get the link this way. It's Arianes choice to post the link here or not, so I just leave it to them.Mike
February 15, 200719 yr Sorry, but I have several(!) of their products, and there's no link to any forum in the manuals nor did Ariane ever send me one in a mail. So: no forum for me as a _customer_.This strategy can only mean:a) there's no forum at all:( forums are only for paying customers or hand selected people;maybe to show a "professional touch" (only VIPs allowed), but what is Ariane really afraid of? That "unauthorized" persons could read something not in line with their great advertising machine?Andreas Andreas, LOWW - Nihil sumus et fuimus mortales. February 15, 200719 yr >just a neutral remark regarding the forum. Ariane has a>support forum, I found the link in the manual of their Tu-134>product. I purchased the Cowling as well as the V8 HCe Non-VCe Windshield Wiper supplement and have had some problems mounting them. :)Seriously... seems like the 737 series customers didn't get a notice of this at all. Sending a message to Ariane.... I'll update this thread in April as soon as a response arrives.
February 15, 200719 yr Looks like a private initiative from mr. Dittmar, an avid flight simmer. No way that can be the official Ariane forum.Cheers,Mats J Mats JohanssonPMDG Flight Test Dept | Asus Z270-A | Intel i5-7600K @ 4.8 GHz OC/H2O | nVidia Geforce GTX 1070 8GB OC/O2|
February 15, 200719 yr "Looks like a private initiative from mr. Dittmar, an avid flight simmer. No way that can be the official Ariane forum."All the links point back to Ariane so it may be a forum sponsored by them, though it doesn't seem very active. But this whole forum thing takes the focus off of Ariane posting to a two month old thread just to give themselves lip service. Stinks to high heaven if you ask me. And naturally they've also again drawn attention to themselves at the expense of Avsim's bandwidth. Wouldn't be surprised if they try to copyright the concept of sim forums altogether in the future and ask Avsim for a license fee. ;)-John
February 15, 200719 yr I don't own any of their products, but in perusing their website for fifteen minutes or so it seems to me that they operate in a similar fashion to that of Captain Sim and Cloud 9: both reflect huge cultural differences with that of what we expect in our very "western" society - and here I'm including Australia, most of western Europe and North and South America. This is not, in any way, to make excuses for them, nor to say their products aren't first class, or better, or worse than any of the other FS addon sales organisations. What matters is their use of, and our interpretation of the language used on their website, and how they respond to queries and issues; it is in the way something is written - what is included and what is not included. The best thing these guys could do would be to hire someone who could tell them what business practices they should follow - a communications specialist - and a professional web designer to effectively interpret what they want/need to say. 99.999 % of the problems these companies have are communication issues. Even here on these posts offense is sometimes unintentionally given, and it's always because the person didn't use the right words to convey the attitude or emotion. The written word "sucks" without a face and body behind it, and when it's not your first language it's so easy to give offense. It's important to always give the benefit of doubt before you go off, slandering and libeling good ordinary honest people; most are not crooks; most are not even dishonest - just don' speaka engles too good, you know? Is right, yes?Regards, i7 [email protected] | 32GB RAM | EVGA RTX 3080Ti | Maximus Hero VII | 512GB 860 Pro | 512GB 850 Pro | 256GB 840 Pro | 2TB 860 QVO | 1TB 870 EVO | Seagate 3TB Cloud | EVGA 1000 GQ | Win10 Pro | EK Custom water cooling.
February 15, 200719 yr Paul:Excellent post and true in most cases. However, Ariane is based in the UK, and the head of Ariane is an Englishman if memory serves.
February 15, 200719 yr You HAVE to be kidding me?????????I can't even find a Smilie to describe my incredulity! (Wordy or what! :-) )Edit: I just did a lookup, and the site contacts are Woodland Software Solutions Ltd, St. Albans, UK. It gets even more interesting. They have quite a history it seems! For some reason I can't paste this url in as is. It keeps adding odd characters, so copy this, but take out the two spaces. . .http://talon.ipedit.com: 9595 /fstvforums/viewtopic.php?t=3703 i7 [email protected] | 32GB RAM | EVGA RTX 3080Ti | Maximus Hero VII | 512GB 860 Pro | 512GB 850 Pro | 256GB 840 Pro | 2TB 860 QVO | 1TB 870 EVO | Seagate 3TB Cloud | EVGA 1000 GQ | Win10 Pro | EK Custom water cooling.

February 15, 200719 yr Uh, Ok, I didn't know that. So Tu-134 customers seem to be VIPs :-)>> great advertising machineDo you really believe in any advertisements in the FS Addon industry ? Almost everyone promises everything. Everything is ultra/high/100% realistic, tested by real pilots or .Reading advertisements to get an idea how much meat is really in a product was possible years ago, but IMO not anymore these days. Mike
February 15, 200719 yr Nope, know the history and background of Peter Tishma/Ariane very well. same old same old. Anyone remember their "famous" CRJ title with that Austrian female captain? Lol, the package was "Lauda Air" approved and even came with a "free" pen. ricardo
February 17, 200719 yr >Maybe you missed this:>>http://www.avsim.com/pages/0902/pt_again.htmlI wish I had found it before I made the mistake of puchasing one of their products a couple of years ago. That flawed product has since been removed and replaced by a superior freeware version. :-vuur Don't just walk away from Arianne.
