January 10, 200719 yr Hi Jim, and thanks again for the prompt reply to my email several months ago concerning ActiveILS for KMSP. I'm wondering if you plan a "lite" version of MSP for FS9 anytime in the future? January 10, 200719 yr Finished the lighter version of FSX KATL and uploaded. I will now try and correct/update FS9 KATL based on the issues that have been posted here.It will take about a week so if you know of anything the current FS9 KATL needs let me know. Thanks to everyone for their input.>>On a OT question, do you find FSX easier >to design for? Is there something like >afcad for it yet? There is no utility like AFCAD available yet for FSX. Several developers are working on utilities that will have AFCAD capibilities. At the present time everything I am doing is by Long Hand XML coding which ensures the AFCAD style airports stay 100 percent FSX.I am not a scenery designer but normally write Approach code so any added new runway will work both VMC/IMC.When a new runway is added (using AFCAD) the ILS that is also added is owned by the Runway properties. That means the User Plane can use the ILS on his radio. ATC does not know the new ILS exsits until XML approach code is written and added to the database. If visibility falls below 3 miles ATC will not honor the new ILS or say ILS in voice. AI Plane Traffic can only be vectored to the new ILS if visibility is above 3 miles at which point ATC thinks the runway is a non-precision visual runway only.If I can enhance a airport with FS9/FSX type scenery then I do so. Most of the ground type support scenery in FSX is the same as FS9. One exception is that FSX is now using a different means of flattens, autogen and the grass texture you see at each airport. When the newer utility is released everyone should be able to make changes to airports in FSX just like they did in FS9. Also included will be more powerful interfaces that will update approach data and create shape files for the Land Class (grass), flattens, autogen at airports. Some of the powerful future utilities are in beta now at different stages.
