April 24, 200818 yr Check out the fifth from the last @ http://www.mixedsoup.com/gallery-worlds-strangest-airports/ I'd swear that's an FS shot... Except for the guy ducking at the bottom. And why isn't the left prop turning? No ID for any, but I'm sure that among us, we can name them all. If I counted right, there are 26 shots, with 1 and 2 the same airport. Extra points for 8, 9, 11, 13, 14. Go!RobAlso, I can think of a few airports that are stranger than some of these, you?
April 24, 200818 yr It is St. Barts (#22) TFFJ and #15 is Julianna TNCM.Top two are LPMA Maderia. #18 I think is Dubrovnik LDDU. Al Stiff

April 24, 200818 yr Does anyone know the location of #6? I'm pretty sure it's in the eastern U.S. Sort of a fly-in golf resort... Rick
April 24, 200818 yr >Does anyone know the location of #6? I'm pretty sure it's in>the eastern U.S. Sort of a fly-in golf resort...It is, I've been to it's website but I'm drawing a blank on the name of it right now. They have a couple interactive webcams on the website that you can pan around and zoom and such. It is in VA or WV or NC or something like that. I think there is an ad for it in lots of the flying magazines.edit: just found it. It's 2NC0 - Mountain Air Airport, Burnsville, NC.
April 24, 200818 yr >...And why isn't the left prop turning? >Oh I'm suer it's turning, but just not fast enough to blur in the time the camera shutter was open ;)
April 25, 200818 yr Here's what we have so far:1. Madeira ICAO: (LPMA) IATA: (FNC) Funchal, Madeira, Portugal2. Madeira (LPMA)3. Macau International (VMMC) (MFM) Macau ? (Don't think so. see #26 and http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/c...nal_Airport.jpgedit: changed my mind, I agree, finally saw the tower.4.5. J. Yrausquin (SAB) Saba Island, Netherlands Antilles ? (I question this, too)6. Mountain Air Airport, Burnsville, NC (2NC0)7.8.9.10. North Front (GIB) Gibraltar, Gibraltar11. Half way there. >...And why isn't the left prop turning?> Oh I'm suer it's turning, but just not fast enough to blur in the time the camera shutter was open.OK, sunny day, fast shutter speed.
April 25, 200818 yr >Check out the fifth from the last @>I'd swear that's an FS shot... Except for the guy ducking at>the bottom. And why isn't the left prop turning? FS never looked that good. The picture is just shot with a fast enough shutter speed to make it look like both props are not turning. There's not blade shadow/ blur on the starboard engine - so the blades are in a position hidden by the other aircraft parts. Neither #4 of #5 are Saba. For one thing SABA's runway would be numbered 12/20 - #4 is Rwy 27 and the small ramp is one the wrong side.#5 geography and coast line are wrong - looks like Japan to me.This Saba - http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/comm...aba_airport.jpghttp://www.airliners.net/photo/-/-/0723905/L/#20 looks a lot like Lord Howe Island - YLHIThe problem is that short runways which span completely across small islands are very common around the world.
April 25, 200818 yr > 6. Mountain Air Airport, Burnsville, NC (2NC0) Don't think so. Compare to http://www.viptracking.com/airportphotos/2NC0.jpgDifferent runway numbers. edit: Looked closer. I was turned around. Think you are right
