October 22, 200817 yr Request - is it possible to move this thread to the Scenery Design area?Question - Has anyone had any luck with adjusting the zoom level of the textures downloaded? It appears that the program is locked into 4m/px resolution, which is fine for FS2004, but woefully bad for FSX (when compared with what we normally see)I've attempted to adjust some numbers in the maps2bgl .ini file, however it doesn't seem to make a difference in the resolution. Seems like it is stuck capturing and processing images at the grid level LOD16.-Greg
October 23, 200817 yr Have you got the FSX version?http://www.g-daehling.de/fs2004/modules.ph...=Content&pid=10Here's a pic over Salzburg from FSX, seems pretty good to me.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/193650.jpgJohn
October 23, 200817 yr Yeah, I do have the FSX version. It's good from on high without doubt, but at lower altitudes it becomes apparent that the FSX flavor is still aiming for LOD16 (4m/pix) when the simulator is physically capable of going down to the centimeters/pixel range. I'd like to bring it down to 1m/px (I believe that's LOD18) to match up with the generic texture resolutions. Of course, it very well could be at 1m/px and I am expecting more, but you never know. Without being able to adjust the setting, it's tough to confirm what the default is. Alas, I've moved on to using SBuilderX for my needs - another personal limitation I have for the tool is Maps2BGL's desire to populate a much larger photoreal space than I need. I am only working with airfields, not entire regions. SBuilderX allows me to use higher resolutions and allows me to really reign in the boundaries for my scenery, saving memory and space. Thanks though!-Greg
