FlyTampa's VHHX and TNCM

Featured Replies

I will probably get booed off this board for asking for this, but here goes anywho... I like to keep my flightsimming as real as I can within the limits of FS9 - are there any modifications to these sceneries to disable the VHHX airport as well as the old terminal building in TNCM? anything available? if not, could a person use afcad program to modifiy it? I would like to get the VHHX software just for the wonderful downtown scenery, etc - I would just like to be able to "close" the airport in FS9thannksciao!Brian Sommers

Well i dont know about TNCM but if you have'nt already got VHHX Then dont worry about closing the airport because unless you edit your ai traffic they will not go there, it is in theory already closed in FS9Mark

so what you're saying is that when you purchase flytampas vhhx it is closed by default?? I thought the airport was active and working in FS9, you have to add in a traffic file for it?ciao!Brian Sommers

Ciao!

Yes i suppose you could call it active and working Its just that if you dont edit your ai traffic to fly to VHHX it gets to be a very lonley place :-hah So i suppose really if you can call an airport with zero traffic open then yes it is openMark

No with FLYTAMPA VHHX installed you will have an active airport. So I take it that you just want VHHX for the scenery? I don't blame you it is nice. Try going into FS9 SCENERY LIBRARY and disable the scenery?? This might work.

Now tat you talk about FlyTampa Kai Tak, do you know if it closes Chek Lap Kok (VHHH)? I know 9 Dragons does so, but I don't know about FT.Best regards from Colombia,Luis Miguel

Brian, I would think closing FT's Kai Tak would be very easy. Just remove the AFCAD that comes with the program. VHHX is closed by default in FS9 so if you remove the AFCAD there should be no parking spaces for any AI aircraft to park. Should appear like the airport is vacant (like it probably did on July 6, 1998 ;) )As for AI traffic, just make sure you haven't modified any of your traffic files to include VHHX. They should all land at Chek Lap Kok as FT does not close the airport with their package.TNCM would require more work and editing of the AFCAD.

Intel i9-12900KF, Asus Prime Z690-A MB, 64GB DDR5 6000 RAM, (3) SK hynix M.2 SSD (2TB ea.), 16TB Seagate HDD, Gigabyte GeForce 5080 RTX, Corsair iCUE H70i AIO Liquid Cooler, UHD/Blu-ray Player/Burner (still have lots of CDs, DVDs!)  Windows 10, (hold off for now on Win11),  EVGA 1300W PSU
Netgear 1Gbps modem & router, (3) 27" 1440 wrap-around displays
Full array of Bravo, Saitek and GoFlight hardware for the cockpit. Varjo and HP VR headsets for mixed reality.

I have both FlyTampa airports and they are simply incredible. Among my top 5 sceneries! Either FlyTampa or WorldofAI gives you a special AI aircraft package for VHHX. I thought I saw a corrected AFCAD here a few weeks ago for TNCM that reflects the changes you discuss. Did you do a file search here?
