Bill, I tried opening the mdl file using MDL Tweaker, but I get the message that it is not a 'valid RIFF file'. It seems that "MDL Tweaker can only read FS2004 scenery MDL files, so if you made a FS2004 aircraft MDL or a FSX MDL file, then you will get this message". You can't edit aircraft .mdl files.

Actually, that's my fault... I actually meant to recommend Martin Wright's "MDLMat.exe" but it too cannot work with the new "non-RIFF" FSX models... However, it works a treat to change Material Properties in CFS2, FS2002, FS2004 MDL files!http://www.mnwright.btinternet.co.uk/programs/progs.htm

God bless Martin Wright! And thank you for telling us about this Fr. Bill!With this program I was able to modify a .mdl file to change the color of some parts that had no texture mapped to them. No more blue antennae!Now if there is some way to modify an old plane, FSDS I think, so the alpha channel creates reflection as opposed to transparency I will be ecstatic! Can it be done?Joe
