May 8, 200917 yr Dear PMDG support group,When flying the 737-700 in FS2004, I get aligned on the runway and advance the trottles toward 70% N1 and I hear a very loud bell that won't go off untill I pull the throttles to idle. Also, when I trim the airplane, I cant tell how much I've trimmed it, is there any way to fix these problems? When taking off I advance throttles to 70% N1, press TO/GA and take off. May 8, 200917 yr The warning you hear is the take off configuration warning, its sound (on the real thing) is triggered by a switch on the right main landing gear when it is compressed by the weight on the wheels, and it will go off if you open the throttles and do not have your aircraft configured properly for take off. So, you need the right trim settings, the correct flap settings etc, or it will sound when you advance the throttles for take off.If I recall correctly, when you roll the trim wheel it gives you a tool tip in FS that tells you what the setting is, although you do have to have the 'show tool tips' FS preference selected to get those to show up. On the CDU (FMC if you prefer to call it that) you can enter the correct weights and centre of gravity settings and it should then tell you the correct trim setting to apply, such as 3.9 for example, which would require you to roll the trim wheel until you see the tool tip reading 3.9 (make sure you go the right way and don't accidentally put a minus trim value in!). To shut that alarm up, if you put a flap setting in the FMC, make sure that is what you have set with the flap lever in the cockpit too, ie. if you put a value of 5 degrees of flap in the FMC take off config page, make sure you have five degrees of flap selected with the flap lever.Al Alan Bradbury Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here
May 9, 200917 yr Author Now, I went to the FS2004 settings and I clicked on the show tool tips button and nothing happened. I now know the alarm is going off because of the trim. Is there any other way to know what your trim setting is? My Layout HP HPE-510y Windows 7 Home Premium 64-Bit Processor: AMD Phenom II X6 1055T 16.8 clock speed! May 9, 200917 yr Well, since the PMDG 737 crashes FS every time I try to use it, I'm only going off memory here, but the trim wheel on the pedestal has a visual indicator on it with a pointer that moves along a green band next to the trim wheel. I can't remember if it moves in the VC on the PMDG 737 (it might do), but it should move on the 2D panel.Al Alan Bradbury Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here

Thanks,Lovetofly28Is it a bell or intermittent warning horn. The take off config warning is an intermittent warning horn in the real thing.
May 9, 200917 yr It should be an intermittent warning horn, not the bell like the fire alarm. But as far as I know trim setting doesn't set it off, only undeployed flaps do. :( You should also be able to see the trim setting as mentioned above by Al, at least I can in the 2D panel (throttle window) Onur K. Visit my FS blog: Clear Right...
May 11, 200917 yr I am also getting the warning horn when advancing the throttles for takeoff.I have carefully checked that the parking brake is off, the flaps are set appropriately (and match FMC), and have proper trim setting.Any other ideas what may be causing this horn to continue to go off? Thanks.Greg
May 11, 200917 yr There is one other item that will set off the intermittent buzzing sound and that is if you have the spoilers in the 'Armed' position, and advance the throttles, you will get the config. warning intermittent buzzer....:)Regards,jack

May 11, 200917 yr And, as far as I know, the FMC trimming calculation is not modelled in the PMDG-737.Whatever can be the load (fuel, passengers and cargo), the FMC always gives the same trim value = 5.5In the PMDG-747 you obtain different figures depending on the aircraft loads. signed: José Luis
