May 28, 200917 yr Am completely hooked on RC 4.3 and am considering UT II, which was released today. Will the RC ATC interact with the AI aircraft of UT II? I ask because UT II isn't reliant on traffic.bgl files but instead uses its own system to produce and control AI flights (using FS9 and FSX-format flight plans!). Thanks! Wayne KlocknerUnited Virtual
May 28, 200917 yr I have used UT through three versions, 1, 2, and an incremental update called UT 2007.UT II creates a traffic.bgl file or whatever the FSX AI format requires from its aircraft and provided selected schedules that you can choose. It also installs AFCAD equivalents for FS airports. I looked at the new product web page and the feature regarding loading an FSX plan into it is to allow you to use that for creating an AI flight that UT II will compile into its output file, unless I misinterpreted the description.Information:http://ultimatetraffic.flight1.net/ut2/http://ut2.flight1.net/RC should work fine with the AI traffic created. You load and run RC as usual and I would think the AI UTII produces are standard for FSX and would be recognized by RC as usual since FSX's default ATC would recognize them as well.To be sure check on their new UT II forum:http://ultimatetraffic.flight1.net/forums/...opics.asp?FID=7 Am completely hooked on RC 4.3 and am considering UT II, which was released today. May 28, 200917 yr Author Thanks, Ron, and I'll be testing this later today. Wayne KlocknerUnited Virtual
May 28, 200917 yr Author Actually, Ron, check out post #30 in this thread: Avsim's FSX forum - UT 2 thread...the poster states that UT 2 does not use or generate traffic.bgl files but rather generates AI traffic in a different way. I'm hoping that RC 4.3 will still interact with this AI and will test that tonight. Wayne KlocknerUnited Virtual
May 28, 200917 yr I just tried it: UT2 it works perfect with RC4.3 (I never thought, it would be possible without a bgl-file)!!!!! Lars
May 28, 200917 yr If the AI aircraft itself follows the FSX container SDK rules it should be fine as you noted. I just tried it: UT2 it works perfect with RC4.3 (I never thought, it would be possible without a bgl-file)!!!!! Lars
May 28, 200917 yr Author Perfect, thanks...I'll be running my own test later tonight! :( Wayne KlocknerUnited Virtual
June 8, 200916 yr Just bought UT2 last night and have only done one flight so far, but it works ok with RC4, except some of the airline names didn't work for me. So the RC4 controller called United flights "Uniform 2 3 9" instead of "United 2 3 9". It also had the same problem with Skywest flights. Southwest I noticed worked correctly. Hope there is an easy way to fix this.

June 12, 200916 yr http://forums1.avsim.net/index.php?showtopic=250915change your tcasid in fsuipc.inijdmine is set to flight, however united still seems to not work. Continental and Southwest have worked for me. I just purchased UTII so i have only tried it at KLAS. Im thinking it could have something to do with the aircraft.cfg and what call sign it is using for united. I'm going to test more later at KSEA later to see if united seems to be the only airline with the problem.Nick Nick Running
June 12, 200916 yr Here's section from a United A320 aircraft.cfg installed by UT 2007 that should serve as an example for your United aircraft:atc_airline=UNITEDatc_flight_number=1000atc_parking_types=GATEatc_parking_codes=UALatc_heavy=0ui_manufacturer=Flight One AI Aircraftui_type=Airbus A320-100/200ui_variation=United Airlines
June 13, 200916 yr http://forums1.avsim.net/index.php?showtopic=250915change your tcasid in fsuipc.inijdHmm, my TCAsid was already set to Flight. This is pretty odd. I hear some Southwest planes correctly and other are just Sierra <flight number. Ugh.Here's section from a United A320 aircraft.cfg installed by UT 2007 that should serve as an example for your United aircraft:atc_airline=UNITEDatc_flight_number=1000atc_parking_types=GATEatc_parking_codes=UALatc_heavy=0ui_manufacturer=Flight One AI Aircraftui_type=Airbus A320-100/200ui_variation=United AirlinesI checked in the UT2 directories and the A320 and A319 were both setup pretty much like that. atc_airline was definitely UNITED. The parking code was UAL,UAL, but I can't see how that would have an impact. The flight number was blank.

June 13, 200916 yr Here's something you can try to diagnose the United problem while running FS and RC:With your current FSUIPC download a utility called Trafficlook.exe was included. I also see there is a beta version here:http://forums.simflight.com/viewtopic.php?...a010fdb3df6becfAfter starting FS, loading a saved parked situation where you know United aircraft are around, and optionally starting RC so you can monitor ATC AI chatter (not pre-recorded) Alt-Tab out of RC to start Trafficlook. It will in its own window display airborne, ground, or both AI in a table and might provide how United aircraft are reported by FSUIPC to RC.You can see if the response is correct for RC.
July 21, 200916 yr Just tried the Trafficlook.exe and it seems like the problem occurs because some of the flights call signs are "American" while others will be "American 1672" it seems for some of the flights the number got joined onto the call sign. I'm assuming that RC doesnt understand "American 1672" so it just says Alpha 1672. How this happens i have no idea. Nick Running
