Featured Replies

Has anyone been able to add sounds to the Ultimate Traffic II AI? Does anyone know if the newly released Traffic Sounds FSX Extreme will add sound to UT2's AI?Thanks. Ken

Speaking of UT2 sounds...(And at the risk of a thread hijack) Has anyone determined how to silence the "Ultimate Traffic 2 initialized..." bumper that now plays when I start the simulator? Gawd - I do not like it when software companies put in such things without a clear and apparent "OFF" switch.

Yes ! you just inspired me to search and I have found it ! This is where it is in Vista.Go to your Application Data folder and then open Roaming, Flight1software, Ultimate Traffic 2. You will see a .wav file called UT2Startup.Do with it what you wish !!

Ken, what type of sounds are you looking for? I have UT2 installed and my AI have engine sounds. I can hear them start up, shut down. I hear them passing me when I am sitting still and when I pass them.

It's also a sign that the program has started correctly in the background :(

Hi cmpbellsjc. Thanks for the reply. I do not hear sounds from AI after having installed UT2. I didn't think they had sound. I'll look/listen a little closer tonight during my nightly jaunt from KSAT to KCRP and back.

Pehaps you need to go into the FSX settings menu under the sound tab and turn up the volume for Environment. If that still doesn't work, check in the newly created folder in SimObjects titled UT2 Aircraft and check in the folders and make sure there is a folder for each one called Soundai. If they are not there you are missing the sound folders. I'm not sure that you can get them if they are missing besides uninstalling and reinstalling, or running a repair option if its available.I was doind a few flights last night and I could clearly hear them taxing by me and taking off.Good luck.

Thanks for the tips. I didn't think of looking for the sounds folder under the UT2 directory. Some seasons sim pilot I am. :-)I will give that a shot and let you know what I find.Take care.
