June 6, 200916 yr Author Awesome response and info Jim, thanks for your time on this. I think that if a company could get the functionality of MCE but the excellent response of VoxATC...For that they would need to write their own ATC program, which alone is a huge task already and which they have not. I'd like it to be clear for those who are looking for a solid and realistic add-on ATC software for MSFS. Thanks,Dirk.
June 7, 200916 yr MCE sent me a special update as well. I assume the process was the same for me as it was for Jim. I sent MCE tech support an email (got address of of their website, [email protected]). I shared the things that I liked and those that I wished could be modified. They replied back within 1 day with some well thought out comments as well as providing me an FTP site for the latest updates. I was impressed with their customer service.Hope this helps,DougDoug,What were your suggestions and observations exactly? Would be nice to know.Mine were to have the copilot on piston aircraft, or any aircraft if the pilot wished to have one, have a method of confirming my radio transmission from uncontrolled airports and airspace. Both of these were addressed and implemented. Great support and responsivness to suggestions for improvements. Maybe a forum should be set up here at AVSIM for MCE.Jim D.

Maybe a forum should be set up here at AVSIM for MCE.Jim D.Hi Jim,My suggestions were similar to yours. - I wanted to have the ability to use MCE on all my aircraft, not just those considered to be 2 pilot crewed. Interestingly, the original MCE worked with Flight1 Cessna Mustang which is certified single pilot. With the Mustang's FADEC, G1000 and GFC700 autopilot the workload on the Mustang is much less taxing than say a Piper Saratoga.- I also wanted to have the voice training module on Vista. Originally, the voice training was only available for Windows XP or earlier. The latest version has a Vista version for the training.Like others have commented here, flying with MCE has been fun. I love the sassy attitude of the copilot. Slow down too much on approach and the copilot will critique your flying "Pay attention Captain", "What are you doing?". Overwork her and she'll complain "I only have 2 hands", etc. Made me chuckle a few times. My primary goal for MCE was to use for ATC, which currently is not its strong suit. Voice recognition with flight commands (gear down, 10 degrees of flaps, set power to cruise climb, etc) is really quite good. With ATC, it seems to be 50/50. I find myself needing to chose "Option 1" or "confirm clearence" rather than simply reading back the clearance as given. So far, for ATC, the best system for me is VATSIM. Challenge with VATSIM for me is two-fold. - Lack of controller availability when I want to fly. I like to fly in my home territory and practice approaches into the small airports that I fly into/out of in real life. There is always a center/approach controller somewhere but my home ARTCC (KZLC) is not always available.- Need to fly with real world weather. I like to put the ceiling/visibility at hard to marginal IFR conditions. If the real weather outside is VFR, I have to fly with VFR conditions.Because of this, I find myself flying with VOXATC most often.....I'd love MCE to host a forum on Avsim. From their homepage, I gathered they'd rather respond directly to emails rather than have an official forum. They did such a great job responding to my requests, I would think a forum would help leverage this time & effort for them.Great conversation here guys....

Some of the latest posts are already a week or more old and response by other users is marginal. AVSIM has one of the best, if not the best forum communities on the net. I posted a question recently on that site and never got a response. The response time here and from the support team is excellent.Jim D.
