June 4, 200917 yr Hi,Well the system is built, I'm in the process of updating drivers / Firmware and I've run into my first problem.I am unable to install the following drivers: ATK0110 ACPI Utility, keep getting an incompatibility error. Went to ASUS's web site and downloaded all the beta drivers but I am unable to install this driver.Anyone running Windows 7 that has the correct drivers for ATK0110 ACPI?.Thanks Former Beta Tester - (for a few companies) - As well as provide Regional Voice Set Recordings Two: AMD-9950X | One: AMD-7950X3D | Three: Asus TUF 4090s | Three: 64GB DDR5 RAM 6000mhz | Three: Cosair 1300 P/S | Three: 990Pro 2TB NVME One: Eugenius ECS2512 - 2.5 GHz Switch | Three: Ice Giant Elite CPU Coolers | Three: 75" 4K UHDTVs | One: Boeing 737NG Flight Deck

June 4, 200916 yr You might check the user forum on the Asus website, there are several topics about it.If I remember correctly, some solved it via Windows Update and others solved it by using "update driver" and pointing it to several folders on the Asus CD until they got results. June 4, 200916 yr Author Hi,I tried both options, they didn't work. I did install FS9 and FSX for a short flight. This is just a quick look. Nothing is setup yet.FS9 at KSEA (All Default) = 65 to 83 FPSFSX at KSEA (All Default) = 45 to 57 FPSThats with everything stock.I just realized I have the 32 bit version of Windows 7, I'm in the process of downloading the 64 bit O/SIts going to take 4 hours, nothing to do now except wait. June 4, 200916 yr Author Hi,I don't know anyone who has been able to run FSX default install with all sliders maxed out and was still able to get 45 to 57 FPS. If all hold true with my overclock, I may be spending some more time with FSX. Up until now I've used FS9 exclusively. Even with my 6800 Extreme processor, the smoothness just wasn't there. Hopefully that's about to change. June 4, 200916 yr My i7 975 is on its way.I should have mine ready next week.i7 975 at 3.33Asus P6T Deluxe V. 26 gig Ram 16002 RaptorsGTX 285 Super clocked (I might keep my 8800ultra)I inserted the GTX 285 in my current E6850 system. With the same fsx settings I was getting between 5-10 LESS fps.Maybe the i7 and the gtx 285 work better. I will try both cards.I will let everyone know how the i7 performs in Manhattan X. This scenery slows down my system to 10-15fps. I hate it, but I must have it.Jose MSFS
June 4, 200916 yr For me on a similar setup;FS9 runs like a dream for me. It smokes anything thrown at it.FSX is good, away from cities doing VFR, but mild stuttering and graphical glitches now and then. I'm afraid to say FSX is still not appealing enough for me to pursue a serious go at it with heavy aircraft. One day I might overclock and see what that does. June 5, 200916 yr Overclocking will only do so much. I saw some improvement with my current e6850, but I decided to make the leap. I hope that the i7 975 (stock) with new ddr3 1600 memory and gtx 285 will give me 25-35 fps in Manhattan.I'm not looking for a miracle (all sliders up) and 40fps. I will compromise.Using UTx, GEX, FEX in NYC with 0 traffic, I get a reasonable 20-25 fps. Add 10 Traffic setting it drops to 15fps. Add Manhattan X and it drops to 10-15fps.This is simply unacceptable fps. FSX plays well 25-35fps. This idea that 15 fps is suitable, at least in my system, the flight yoke looses it's ability to control the plane.Jose MSFS

This idea that 15 fps is suitable, at least in my system, the flight yoke looses it's ability to control the plane.Actually even a constant 30-35 fps is unacceptable in light of the fact that just about every other sim I own can maintain a constant fps that matches the refresh rate of my monitors with v-sync enabled. By the time we get hardware that will be able to run FSX at a constant 60-75 fps (I doubt we will); FSX will be all but a bad memory.

But so that the rest of us can tell what we should expect compared with our own PCs, could you give us enough detail to let us re-create the situation on our own kit? In particular, could you find time to tell us (i) what aircraft you are using? (ii) what scenery and weather add-ons (GEX, UTX, ASA) you have installed? (iii) in what circumstances are you taking your measurement (at the gate? what weather conditions? cloudy?) (iv) what display resolution you are using? (v) exactly what your display settings are? (I know you say all sliders are to the right but surely you're not using light bloom, for example!) and (vi) exactly what your kit is? It might be possible for us to work some of this out by reading earlier posts but it would be really helpful to have it all collected in one place, if you have the time.ThanksTim 14900ks, RTX4090, 64Gb@6000-30-36-36-T2, Samsung 990Pro 2Tb , Dell G3223Q 32" 4k Gsync + 27" secondary monitor. June 5, 200916 yr Author Hi Tim,All that will be coming soon. I'm going to start off with FSX, less to install. :( FSX will contain the following addons. 1. FS Genesis X - World Terrain Mesh 2. FS Genesis X North America Terrain Mesh - Canada & Mexico 3. FS Genesis X North America Terrain Mesh - US West 4. FS Genesis X North America Terrain Mesh - US East 5. Ultimate Terrain X - USA 6. Ultimate Terrain X - Canada & Alaska 7. Ultimate Terrain X - Europe 8. Ground Environment X - USA & Canada 9. Flight Environment X10. Active Sky X / Active Graphics X (I may try REX, not sure yet)11. 3D Lights Redux for FSX12. Level-D 767-300ER for FSXI'm still installing, I'm following Nicks excellent installation procedure for FSX. It can be found here.http://www.simforums.com/forums/forum_posts.asp?TID=29041Once everything is installed and running right, I'll start overclock testing of the I7-975. I think that this sounds very promising, especially without any overclock being applied. By the time we get hardware that will be able to run FSX at a constant 60-75 fps (I doubt we will); FSX will be all but a bad memory.Using FSX, I don't agree. I find that 25-35 is silky smooth. Panning on the cockpit is smooth. No blurriness, little shimmer (performance issue) and yoke is responsive. That's why, I feel that FSX is the best sim out there. For me is GA, IFR, VFR flights. It's a joy with the right performance.None of this would be possible without FSX SP2, UTX, GEX, FEX, realair & carenado airplanes, GoFlight modules, and my AETI Yoke & Cirrus pedals. There's an investment to be made and everyone here has made that financial investment. Why? Because we simply love FS! MSFS
